This is content...! I love my Triumphs, as much as I do my Suzukis, so we tread common ground here. However, having never ridden the 1200 Speed Twin (yet), I cannot imagine the extra 300cc and a handful more BHP being better, or desireable for UK country road riding, unless regular trips from Sussex up to Gretna Green for a long weekend, with ya girls and all their luggage is a regular occurance in ones life. The 900cc in whatever model it may be found, seems to do a perfect job for me..., even here in the Swiss mountains. This will not be a bike for me to go hunting for, so the likelyhood of me ever riding one, unless I get offered the oppertunity, will not be happening very soon, if ever. 650s to 900s seem to cope with all needs in modern day life, as indeed do many sales stats show. It seems, all bikes are getting bigger, faster and consequently dearer, for an ever decreasing market of potential buyers, who have the ever decreasing chance of riding 50mph plus, and/or riding on quality surfaces, that it doesn't warrant the use of a larger engine any more. Having ridden a 650cc early last summer and being convinced of its capabilities, I have now said good bye to the 1200s and 1500s and look forward to summer '25 on a "small" bike..., which I still have to decide upon. And that, brings me to the point where I wish you Kate, Mike, and all yours, a happy, healthy and successful New Year with the rubber side down and an adventurous mile munchin' 2025, wherever on the globe that might be. Steve.
Love the vid awesome seeing your absolute joy through the sweeping twisties Be watching all future videos 👌Keep rubber side down and sunny side up sister. One love ❤️
The classic Triumph Bonneville, is a bike I've always dreamed of owning since I was a kid. So, when the new Speed Twin 1200 came out, there were some great deals to be had on the previous models. I ended up getting an excellent deal on a Speed Twin 1200 Stealth Edition in Sapphire Red / Silver Red; a limited edition one year run. I also managed to buy a pair of Triumph Thruxton 1200 RS Öhlins Twin shocks for the bike. Like many, I don't like the large single clock, it just doesn't suit the character of the bike, or the new dimpled tank-they should've called it the Trident 1200! Triumph should've upgraded the classic twin clocks, improved them, and come up with something like the clocks on the Kawasaki Z900RS with an LED in the middle, which is a stunning bike, and a bike I'd like in my garage. (23:48) If I had not managed to buy a Speed Twin 1200, I would honestly be looking at buying the new CB1000 Hornet SP, which was announced a few weeks later. You need to change that exhaust, but what a bargain, and definitely a contender for bike of the year!
Kate that was a superb review of a motorcycle that I am genuinely interested in, though the old dual dials are lovely, as you correctly point out the new single dial is easier to read when riding. I thoroughly vicariously enjoyed riding those Spanish roads, that looked liked you had a great day's ride.
Great Video Kate! As per usual! Great scenery and filming, the sound is better without the buff! You have a lovely voice, but with the buff it gets muffled, so for me you can do without it! Other then that, keep up the great work! 😊
Shopping list: Carnival Red, bump up the preload to accommodate my fat viking stature and some nice, fruity end cans and I'd be a truly happy boy. I really like the new dash as well. It's a much more "leather jacket and riding jeans" flavour, rather than "cordura adventure clothing" vibe and I'm much more in tune with that.
Great review, beautiful bike. The biggest problem with switching from classic clocks is that they went with such a budget looking dash. I know that dash is perfectly functional but it just looks so under premium and I think it lets down a few of the bikes they've put it on.
Hi Kate , i like this Triumph but my favorite motorcycle 🏍️ is the automatic BMW 1300; thanks for sharing your experience in this wonderful videos, good luck to you, happy new year 🎊🎈🎆 🎊🍾🍾🍾🍾
Great video do love triumph I think they are well built bikes a great bike round the back roads as well as the A roads little bit of motorway riding as well the only trouble here in UK is the state of our roads and G-PLAN sounds like flat pack furniture from IKEA take care Kate ride safe you and Mike and have a great New Year’s Eve and 2025 bye for now 👍
By the way. I do love Thruxton RS style. That fuel tank is just the state of the art. No matter what angle you’re looking at it. Other triumphs tans are not looking special at all
I prefer the new clock on this bike for the functionality. I want to be able to see my speed at a glance without squinting. The twin clocks looked stunning and better looking but I would happily trade them in for the function over style display.
hmmmm love the look of the bike .... up to the clocks..... it's needs the retro instruments, just like the Kawasaki Z900RS... but cruise is a nice option. Keep up the great work :>
I do like the looks of it and sounds. I do also like the classic look theyve tried keeping of it. The maaaaiinnn thing to note though is... Them roads like gosh daaaamn youre not in the UK on them roads, theyre amazing.
How would you compare seating positing between this one or RS vs XSR900? Have some lower back problems and love XSR 900. But can't find one to try. Thanks.
Kate, think the new dash is a nod to Indian who manage to keep their bikes retro looking but have a functioning and modern display "hidden away" ! Good we left the EU huh, otherwise we'd 've had roads like they got in Europe 🙄😆
The clock on this bike is a deal breaker for me. Even with new BMW M cars. Once they start installing computer screen speedometers on their cars, I won’t purchase another new one. I’m guessing for me, I’ll just stick with different brands that have that classic look in everything, including the speedometer styles.
@11:25 Wait, what? Really Kate? You felt the need to explain what you meant by "Bad" Friends to the older generation? The full version. Directed by Scorsese. ua-cam.com/video/Sd4SJVsTulc/v-deo.htmlsi=HtS3ChhBSMbwRuEu LOL! Prior to that, "Sick". And now back to the Speed Twin 1200 review.
LOL - there is ZERO relationship between this and a 1937 Speed Twin, except for the names: they aren't even the same "Triumph" company in any meaningful sense.
@@UsernameKateIt's not really an evolution. The old Triumph (Meriden) company went bust in the 1970s, taking all the old-school twin-cylinder bikes with it. When John Bloor bought the name and set up Triumph (Hinkley), the company that's still here today, 20 years later, the one thing he _didn't_ want was any association with the notoriously vibratory, leaky, unreliable old bikes. There were NO twins in the new line-up (just triples and fours) and NO retros. Everything was supoosed to compete head-on with the Japanese without making excuses or trading on loyalty. It was only when the new Triumph had established itself as a serious manufacturer that they started even thinking about retros, and it was many years more until they designed an all-new twin.

Watching on my new 55 inch TV. Wow! Always great scenery, but now even better. I can't imagine watching on a phone. Great review and riding.

First. 😍 Thank you Kate, such a good preview/overview!
Such a shame the twin clocks are gone😢 Triumph stick that dash on everything now it seems!
It's always fun to see you enjoying swerving 'n curving the roads.
Take care and have the best New Year Kate.
SWERVIN N CURVIN, I'm taking THAT into 2025
Cheers and Happy New Year from the Pacific West Coast of Canada, to you and yours, Kate
Morning Lady Kate!!! This vlog es muy muy excellente🥳🥳🥳
I've only owned 1 Triumph, but this is one I would like to have in my collection
Like the New Camera!! It Looks really Good!!
Happy new year to you and yours I think that new Honda is going to take some beating especially regarding the price I think it’s got these beat
Nice looking bike, lovely scenery, good slow-mo Kate & great singer😳🤓
I like the new clock you can actually see how fast you’re going ect.
Looks like some nice fun roads

That Engine sound 🤩
I'd dozed off and woke up right at the end as you were having a seizure. So confusing until I'd gone back two minutes and watched what I'd missed 😀
I like your voice so much. And you’ re so good at singing too (no autotune, I hope).
You sing well
Happy New Year from Portugal ;))

Oh WOW ! Didnt know you sing so beautiful 😍 Nice bike BTW 👍
Liked the review, and your accent. Thanks for the country view.

Another great bike, I think it would have to be the RS for me all things considered. Wish we had those roads and weather here!
Ummm .. Bunyalbufar and Estellencs .. . La Palma seaside road! Excellent ride Excellent Motorbike!
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you Kate, Peace.
CHRISTMAS..

Roads just before the tunnel wasn't the best ,
Sounds like decent enough bike,
Still would like to see twin clocks,
Enjoyed your views on the bike 👍 ,
No twin clocks on a Bonnerville then no sale, it's as simple as that.
They are just clocks, get over it
Yay, out takes!
I do like the looks of it and sounds. I do also like the classic look theyve tried keeping of it. The maaaaiinnn thing to note though is... Them roads like gosh daaaamn youre not in the UK on them roads, theyre amazing.
Its my dream bike❤
when are the big bore kits going to be available?
Nice Video, Kate. Wanted to ask if you like the bar end mirrors? I have them on my ‘17 T120, and I hate them. Can’t see squat, behind me.
Oh, I love them 😁
Great bike, great review. Shame about the digital display. Triumph proclaims they listen to the customers….. well customers want the classic display.
How would you compare seating positing between this one or RS vs XSR900?
Have some lower back problems and love XSR 900. But can't find one to try. Thanks.
How very rude of those cars in the outtakes. Nice singing though dukeofbrunette 😊. Great vlog 👍
I wish Rickman fairings where still around 🤪🤪🤣 nice bike
Was the transmission clunky at all and was the on off throttle smooth?
Seemed fine to me and throttle roll on smooth unlike 2024 model (imo)
Who is going to buy this with the Honda SP1000 Hornet out there?
If looks could kill at the end of the video 😂
how about living with it in traffic jammed urban environment?
Have to borrow one to see!
@UsernameKate thank you for the prompt reply. Well, if I had anyone to borrow from I would not be asking here 🙂
I think she means book a test ride!
These definitely won't sell with that dash 😂
What's with those number plates!? That's a billboard not a plate. 😆
Oddly the cars have regular plates and smaller than the bikes.
Kate, think the new dash is a nod to Indian who manage to keep their bikes retro looking but have a functioning and modern display "hidden away" ! Good we left the EU huh, otherwise we'd 've had roads like they got in Europe 🙄😆
I like the single gauge. Some of you fanboys on that hater-aid
Doesn’t anyone know how tall she is? I’m short and want to know if I’ll fit on the bike.
Go to 15min 😂😂
You didn't watch the video then? She's 5'4
@@samuelgillard2196 I guess I missed that part. 😂 my bad
Every review from anyone these days make you question how on earth Honda have gotten the Hornet 1000 SP priced at only £9995
I think there will be a lot of worried bean counters at the other big 4 companies.
I think they all could, but they’re all getting very greedy.
@@AgricUltrayou pay for all the technology on bikes now
@ go and watch a review on the Hornet 1000 SP, then come back.

3:40 i hate seeing you ride on roads 100 times better than the uk...
I'm sorrryyyy. If it makes you happier, 95% of my riding are in 💩 conditions 🤣

And now back to the Speed Twin 1200 review.
Hehe
The older generation was using “bad” in the 70s
Yes but we're they using 'baddie'? Haha
You beautifull
That clock just looks cheap (and ugly)
That was the reason I never bought one, nothing classic about that horrible plastic round thing, bought a z900rs instead
