As an Italian who grew up in the 90s and 00s, I've always felt a little ashamed to call myself Italian after having Berlusconi in power for so long.
I have to thank the US Republicans and the UK Tories, because now I don't feel any shame whatsoever. I now understand that we Italians aren't degenerate: we're trailblazers and innovators, and the US and UK are merely picking up what we've done and made it 100 times worse. Thank you, Donald Trump and Boris Johnson, for lifting that weight off my shoulders.
Yes, amazing as it is, the US and the UK have somehow managed to make dear old Silvio seem not too bad. Quite an achievement.
Yet look at who your country has just voted in as their leader, the country that gave the world fascism now having the most far-right leader since Mussolini himself.
Yet you chose to live in the UK, me thinks the left liberal doth complain just a little to much
Outstanding Gabriele, outstanding

Then why did you throw JC against this racket? This anti Blair rhetoric you’ve run with for 15 yrs has got us to where we are today
I will never forget the day I arrived home from my little sisters funeral, she had taken her own life and both my family and myself were in pieces, we had yet to find out about how the police (that consecutive conservative governments had failed to properly fund), had failed her. We were all too caught up in our grief, the only other thing I felt that day was anger that my sister's friends couldn't attend her funeral, they stood out on the street all socially distanced, they couldn't even hug each other let alone join our family in saying goodbye to someone we all loved so dearly, all based on rules Boris Johnson presided over. That day we got home and after a few minuets of silence my mum put the TV on for some background noise, only to find a story was breaking, the mock press conference video was playing on the BBC along with downing street denials of any wrong doing. I can't even begin to describe how I felt seeing that. I admit I was no fan of Boris being that I was well aware that Boris's indecision/refusal to listen to expert advice at the start of the pandemic, which may well have cost tens of thousands of British lives, or that fact he played a massive part in obliterating our economy, but how can anyone defend this absolute monster of a person? How can anyone actually think that this utter clown being anywhere near British politics is anything but another absolute disaster waiting to happen?
.....I agree....the lockdown was an unmitigated disaster which led to so much suffering and torpedoed the economy....

Whether it was Starmer or Boris the same laws and rule braking would be punishable. It's not the person, it's what he has done that is the problem!
Sadly, Boris is untouchable… why? That is the question any serious journalist should be asking!
The why is easy. Right wingers are hypocrites that can't live by the standards they expect of others.
There's not many serious journalists in the UK though won't find any on TV or in papers
Perhaps it's because he's a Russian spy and if he's exposed beyond the Tory party, it's the end of Tory rule (and they do rule, not govern) for all time.
That's easy, they'll continue to support him because he can fool millions of voters into voting for him and against their own self interests. Whether he still can or not probably remains up for debate. But those that cheerlead for him must still think so, because otherwise he'd already be toast.
When there's enough ppl that are compromised or are willingly involved in dodgy dealings in an institution then they cover for each other.

.....and yet little england will continue to vote Tory, time and time again.
It is ridiculous that he says he had no warnings...he was the one out on the podium laying down the rules that people had to follow. 'There are no documents' he says , no bit there is plenty of video footage that he knew the rules perfectly well because he said them out loud over and over again
