    Glad you explained cutting height adjustments. The owners manual was really not clear about this, but now that I know the deck floats and the casters only contact the surface intermittently clarifies the purpose of the height adjustment. Thanks.

    Thanks for the vid, it answered a few questions I had wondered about. So far, the machine is 2 weeks old and is fantastic. I haven't put the deck on yet as am considering a flail mower due to the acerage leaving a little to be desired with the millions of sticks on the ground.

    I’ve heard conflicting information about the guide wheels. Some say they should ride on the ground when cutting and others say they should turn as little as possible, like anti-scalp wheels. Which is it in your opinion? I don’t have a manual for my 2326 deck. Thanks!

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  3 роки тому +1

      Gauge Wheels are more like Anti-Scalp Wheels they help to raise deck on uneven ground to keep it from gouging.

    • @pondacres
      @pondacres 3 роки тому +1

      Well this fella here says these are anti-scalp wheels only, and the deck should be suspended. Manual says to let the deck ride on the wheels. Conflicting info! Well, here's my take on it, if you got a nice and level lawn, yeh you could let the deck ride on the wheels. If you got a "yard" like me with uneven terrain, you suspend the deck.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  3 роки тому +1

      Biggest thing is experience with the Gauge Wheels. Those that run them on the ground all the time wear them out quickly and they not cheap to replace. If you suspend the deck and use them to lift the deck when you encounter uneven terrain then they last much longer...keeping the money in your pocket and not your dealers.

      @@VahrenbergImplement Well I tell you what, anybody has a dealer like you near them, they're lucky. That's good advice, and I totally agree. Those deck wheels are pricey, and yes just always running the deck suspended is cheap insurance against having to buy new ones, quite true.

    You can't take them off. Do you mean raise the wheels up?

      ??? at the beginning of the film? Customer was on his way to pickup the mower and had just a few minutes to discuss the 2326 MidMower so I hurried and put this video together

      @@VahrenbergImplement the 4 wheels. You said take them off to unhook from the deck. You can't. You can raise them though.

    • @VahrenbergImplement

      Meant to raise them so the deck is on the ground.

    Hey Doug
    I just purchased a gc1705 with the same deck as you have here (2326) . My dealer told me these decks are not to be floated but rather wheels on the ground . So I asked then what do the different heights represent . He said dial your deck in according to the numbers listed on the tag for desired height and drop it to the ground ??? The manual does not specify the answer to this question .
    Could you explain sometime how they are suppose to work . There is a gray area that I believe I have seen this question before on a forum with no answers .
    Happy Memorial Day !!! John

      The Gauge Wheels are to prevent scalping. These decks are Free Floating Decks and the Gauge Wheels are not meant to be ran on the ground. If you do you will be replacing soon. The Gauge wheels lift the deck if you go over a hill. You lower to the stop limit gauge (1 through 5) on the tractor to obtain the cutting height desired.

      Mower can be suspended OR run on the ground. The knob with the numbers is for when it is suspended, just turn knob to setting you want. To adjust on the ground height you need to pull the pins at the wheels, one at each of the four corners, and set height there, then turn knob to lower all the way down. I use the second hole from the bottom.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  6 років тому +1

      GC Series Decks are free floating decks not meant to run the gauge wheels on the ground...that is per AGCO Service & Technical Training. If you want to replace gauge wheels prematurely then run them on the ground the Gauge Wheels are to prevent scalping and lift the deck when in uneven ground. They are not meant or designed to be running on the ground all the time.

      Page 29 of the 2326 mid mount mower deck states, "For finish mowing the gauge wheels must ride on the ground".

    if the wheals don,t touch when mowing, why not pull them complety off, an whats the purpes
    for the wheals in the first place.

      The Wheels prevent the deck from gouging when contours change like humps, low spots etc. A Free Floating deck does not need them on the ground until you encounter these rapid changes in contours to keep the blades from scalping the ground. They protect your investment and help to increase the blade life and reduce operating costs.

    Do they offer a manual shift (gear) transmission on this size model?

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  5 років тому

      Hydrostat is the only available transmission in the GC Series Subcompacts. The Smallest Gear Transmission is the 1726E but it does not offer a Mid-PTO. But you can use a Rear 3 Point Finish Mower with it.

    I have the tlb version if this tractor. its a 2017 I just got it and I have difficulty with lowering the deck. it seems to only lower down when it wants to. also the height adjustment knob gets stuck and doesn't want to turn.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  7 років тому

      I would talk to your dealer that is not normal for a GC Series. They can help get it resolved for you.

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  6 років тому

      The Dealer should check all of this before it leaves as part of the Pre-Delivery Process. My Mechanics are sent to Service Schools to learn this and why we take extra steps before it leaves to make sure everything is functional. We service what we sell and is the reason we only sell In our sales region. Some dealers sell all over the world and don't worry about the customer. It all comes back to the dealer and how they serviced & set-up the machine before delivery.

    Do they make a 72 inch deck for the GC1715

    • @VahrenbergImplement
      @VahrenbergImplement  7 років тому

      The GC Series MidMount Mowers are 54" Side Discharge, 54" Mulching Deck or 60" Drive Over Side Discharge Deck. To get 72" deck you would need a 1736 Premium to get the horsepower needed to handle that much deck.

    Been trying to find a Video where they actually take the mower off the GC1700, not just show you the Theory of doing it. Why are you afraid to actually show it? Is it that difficult?

    • @VahrenbergImplement

      Because I am the one that does the videos and I was busy helping customers and could not film while my mechanics where installing the deck. At Vahrenberg Implement our customers come first and sorry I didn't have free time to do the video. I will try to get one next time we install a mower deck.
