Today I finally got a DB build running that I like- focused for water but easy to adapt to other elements. Got the usual crit eye, wex, crit boost maxed out, along with water attack and enough slots for 3 points of any elemental resistance. Then some comfy power prolonger, constitution, and evade extender, the holy trinity of DBs for me! Ended up being so much fun I fought Teostra with it multiple times in a row just for the heck of it. Feral demon mode is great when you stick right to a monster.
Another hidden mechanic of Feral Demon Mode is that it actually reduces the Stamina Cost of your dodges compared to normal Demon Mode; it's insanely stacked and I really have no idea why I'd want to use normal Demon Mode over it
At first I thought the added mobility of normal demon mode would balance it out, since extra movement is typically OP in any game where it isn't deliberately nerfed into the ground. Now I think normal demon mode needs to be hella buffed.
I wish the description on stuff was better. I didn't feel like dodge attacks were worth the trade for slower activation and never would have known about the attack boost had I not seen this video.

And I swapped the chest piece with ludroth to get max stamina surge at the cost of only having 4 points in attack boost, but stamina comes back so fast that you can really abuse staying in demon mode 95% of the fight
as soon as I got feral demon mode, I never used the original demon mode. I'm already used to how slow the demon mode is from something like Gen U compared to World so I'm not really losing anything from it. The animation is from Inner Beast: Ravenous Wolf aka Wolf's Maw and I love it so much. It was my favorite skill in Gen U
If you’re already in demon mode and you used a pierce bind I usually press A to forward dash into it with some attacks. (If you’re not using the Aerial demon)

Hey gaijin hunter. Huge fan and loved the video as always. I just wanted to share something i found out with feral demon other than the atk boost. I don't know if its a bug or intentional but in feral demon mode your stamina consumption is cut. Its like a free constitution skill. Speaking of the skill, yes it stacks.
I can confirm I noticed this too! Though I’m not sure if it’s the natural stamina loss that’s reduced, or the stamina loss when dashing, but either way it definitely uses less!
Even going OUT of Feral Demon Mode is also an attack animation if you're close enough. It just feels great, like you're not wasting motions and openings when going in and out of Demon Mode. Aaaaand I had no idea about the attack boost. lol
I was using Feral Demon mode with the Felyne dual blades too! It's so much fun. I have constitution 5 with it. Which is admittedly hard to slot in when I need protective polish and Crit boost as well.
I stopped using the piecing bind switch skill mainly because of that back step but I never realized that we do a step forward with the feral demon mode blade dance! I'll probably start using it back! Also I NEED to craft these felyne DB.
Funny I did a set for these duals yesterday. My Set uses Volvidon head and hunters legs with a protective polish 2 charm and 2 level 1 slots. That way I have atk 7, para atk +2 and stun resistance 3. + the important skills like protective 3, speed sharpening, crit boost 3.
One thing you can do is use it midair too, so you can go for the midair transformation and do your sky demon wheel with added attack in an instant. Try switching out your pierce bind for the added dodge too.
I think you can do that with standard Demon Mode too. I remember in the demo, I would leap off the dog, transform, then use Sky Demon Wheel on Mizutsune and Magnamalo. So. Many. Times.
3:15 Just be in FDM before you do piercing bind, dash cancel out of the last few frames of the animation, and then start attack during it. Boom, more damage, and you could even do blade dance if the monster is down, or you're confident you'll get the whole thing off. Alternatively, just use the aerial starter, let the spin play out, press X, then then press A.
Dang, I had no idea there was an attack boost with feral demon mode. This whole time I thought it was just the extra hits when you dodge, so I had been using regular demon mode instead since it's faster.
No Power on heaven or earth is going to get me to use the radial menu. But really, you could sharpen with a drawn weapon since World? I really had no idea
I love how when you dodge backwards right after attacking your character spins around while dashing back, so that they’re facing the monster at the end of the dodge.
Thanks to Gaijin i have been using Raging Claws in any hunt using his build(that i updated a little). Now I am planning on making Raging Claws (Helion mode) + Master's Touch skill.
Feral Demon Mode being so easy to unlock compared to the disappointment that is the Silkbind Switch Skill you can only get at _HR freaking 6 by doing a quest_ is almost funny.

Dual blades should be OP, im doing a lot of rampage easily just by doing Demon Mode -> Demon Flight -> A, it hits tons of damage with blast easy 2-4k damage per combo
Master's Touch is only 80% now, and you don't have that much White with this build. DB attacks so fast, you'll get more use out of the 90 seconds of Protective Polish. EDIT: Almost forgot, the Ramp-Up skill on the Dual Blades he's using doubles sharpness loss in Demon Mode, in exchange for giving you 100% affinity.
Not just my zenny, my stock of hard armor spheres (250+) has dropped significantly because I upgrade all of my armor pieces to max, even some of the ones I don't really use.
A lot of the switch skills are based off of Generations, actually! Another notable example, Melody Mode: Performance is Invigoration (complete with old, free i-frames, woo), and Compressed Finishing Discharge for Switch Axe being the last hit of Trance Slash! ...Also, Metsu Shoryugeki for SnS is just a buffed version of Shoryugeki with optional Shroyugeki III follow-up, obviously. And Silkbind Sakura Slash is just a free version of, well, Sakura Slash III, but with a super long cooldown. It makes me happy to see a lot of my favorite old hunter arts be turned into normal moves!
@@taichiixsan4619 There's a bunch of Switch Skills that reuse Hunter Arts animations or parts of. It'd be a damn shame to have all those wonderfully crafted animations go to waste so I'm all for recycling. Saves time too.
You can also dodge forward after doing feral mode to get better positioning then go into the blade dance. Took me a while to get used to doing the piercing bind moves but you start getting used to it the more you play.
Feral Demon Mode, plus Demon Flight, with that added assistance of the spinning move on hit basically makes any fight look like a cartoon battle in a dust cloud. Either that or some really high level Devil May Cry combos.
WARNING: I am so sorry i forgot to fade the audio so there is a LOUD sound at the very end. I cut the last second off in the UA-cam editor just now but it takes a while to be reflected. Also, if you are curious why this isn't really for Master's Touch, that only gives you a 80% chance and the white on this is very small with handicraft 1 so it's better IMO to just use protective polish and go crazy.
How about Handicraft 3 and Master’s Touch 3 combination? Im planning to use the skills below for my raging claw. Attack Boost 7 Critical Boost 3 Handicraft 3 Master’s Touch 3 Speed Sharpening 3 Stun Resistance 3
I admit that I was shocked too when I discovered that you could sharpen your weapon without sheathing it. It was in the middle of a Safi siege, I saw this guy with a Lance sharpening his weapon right after blocking an attack and my brain froze for like 10 seconds, processing the fact that I sheated my weapon for 300 hours when I didn't need to do that
1:49 To be fair, usually when you sharpen your weapon, you run away to a safe distance from the monster, so pretty much everyone sheathes their weapon beforehand so they can actually run.
@@ForestofCicadas Yes, but you have to sheathe your weapon to ride the Palamute in the first place. So again, a situation where you’re encouraged to sheathe your weapon before sharpening.
Honestly speed sharpening 3 is so fast that a lot of the time I'll just sharpen in front of the monster as long as they aren't in the middle of a move that's about to hit me and I can usually get away with it. Or I'll sharpen when they're asleep or stuck in place for a wyvern ride. In those situations sharpening with the weapon out is pretty useful
@@seththetactician6712 what weapon do you use? I use GS for now so i barely sharpen mid battle. Most of the time they run or something before I can even react
Been playing Feral Demon for a couple days, and the difference is immense! I love my Feral elemental build, with a single Evade Extender it's just so easy to brutalize monsters in almost any situation.
DBs are incredible weapons for doing elemental weapon in MHR. No matter how you put it, using a raw DB setup is inferior to a elemental setup in nearly all match ups in the game (and even in those match ups, there's elemental alternatives that are quite suficient). Since feral gives less elemental damage boost AND decreases your mobility, I feel like it's worse to regular DM in every single way.
The Dodge attack in feral is actually kinda neat when combined with evade extender, constitution and stamina surge. Not that it would amount to a lot of damage but consecutively rush slashing through the monster is just a very fun additional anime style thing to do with the DBs :)
@@poolturtle5772 that was not my point. Gaijin said that we won't be using the Dodge to actually attack the monster and I beg to differ with the mentioned Setup. Might just be for fun but I do it nonetheless ;-)

2.0 added some nice 20k, and more frequent 10k fair price things for sale
I love that all of the Feral demon mode animations are taken from Wolf's Maw in Generations
Striker mode Wolf’s Maw was a force of nature.
And now it’s just a normal thing.
Yeah I enjoy how heavily mhgu influenced this game.
@@midnightmacabre5981 Courage mode for hammer brings back valor hammer too!
@grim_ I noticed this with the Apexs, that they were all the deviants from Gen and it made me super excited.
I like how the Feral Demon Stance animation is straight from the Wolf's Maw art in G/GU. ^_^
yeah ikr
Same for Lion's Maw for GS- love that the animations are the same but the effects are tweaked.
Its really nice for the devs to be able to recycle stuffs from GU
@@taichiixsan4619 There's a bunch of Switch Skills that reuse Hunter Arts animations or parts of. It'd be a damn shame to have all those wonderfully crafted animations go to waste so I'm all for recycling. Saves time too.
Feral demon mode is ssoooooo good. I've fallen in love with dual blades even more in this game
I can't believe I never realised that I can use the Feral Demon mode animation to move forward for Piercing Bind.
Edit: Thanks for that tip
I feel like there's not a lot of talk about dual blades in Rise, to be honest
You can also dodge forward after doing feral mode to get better positioning then go into the blade dance. Took me a while to get used to doing the piercing bind moves but you start getting used to it the more you play.
This is practically Wolf’s Maw art from GU minus double hit but will damage in every single movement
Wish with got those glowing eyes as well
yeah
Feral Demon Mode, plus Demon Flight, with that added assistance of the spinning move on hit basically makes any fight look like a cartoon battle in a dust cloud. Either that or some really high level Devil May Cry combos.
Wish rage slash gave u glowing eyes also when u get hit chargin
WARNING: I am so sorry i forgot to fade the audio so there is a LOUD sound at the very end. I cut the last second off in the UA-cam editor just now but it takes a while to be reflected.
Also, if you are curious why this isn't really for Master's Touch, that only gives you a 80% chance and the white on this is very small with handicraft 1 so it's better IMO to just use protective polish and go crazy.
How about Handicraft 3 and Master’s Touch 3 combination? Im planning to use the skills below for my raging claw.
Attack Boost 7
Critical Boost 3
Handicraft 3
Master’s Touch 3
Speed Sharpening 3
Stun Resistance 3
Your telling me lmao. ITS SO FUN
as someone who refused to use feral demon because (sonic theme song)... thank you for opening my eyes
@@XMSkye you are welcome brother
I admit that I was shocked too when I discovered that you could sharpen your weapon without sheathing it. It was in the middle of a Safi siege, I saw this guy with a Lance sharpening his weapon right after blocking an attack and my brain froze for like 10 seconds, processing the fact that I sheated my weapon for 300 hours when I didn't need to do that
Lol
no theres no way wtf for all weapons meaning
I hope they add gore magala next . . . . I really want to use their claw dual blade.
I absolutely love fighting gore. I miss him
Every time I see Magmamarshmallow’s purple effects I’m just like man... Magala would look so good in this game
丈夫Saeru I recognized one of Magnamalo's as one of Gore's when I was hunting him once. Please bring out blind boy back, Capcom
Everyone gets to fight their flagship monster, I want mine!
Gore is such a badass monster, hunting it is always exhilarating being forced to play ultra aggressively to manage your virus.
1:49 To be fair, usually when you sharpen your weapon, you run away to a safe distance from the monster, so pretty much everyone sheathes their weapon beforehand so they can actually run.
I sharpen on my Palamute XD
1st comment! Indeed OP! Keep up! Your content contributes so much to the community!
Envade Extender then Feral Demon mode, you’re welcome😈
Evade Extender in Feral Demon is sick. I only have lv2 and it makes me feel so damn fast and can dodge stuff so easily.
Holy hell, I've been testing it out and I never even realised how busted it is with the raw increase
Been playing Feral Demon for a couple days, and the difference is immense!
I love my Feral elemental build, with a single Evade Extender it's just so easy to brutalize monsters in almost any situation.
Thanks for this! I thought the dodge attack was the only benefit to Feral Demon Mode. I'll definitely be giving it more of a chance!
I've never left this mode the moment I unlocked it.
You actually get access to the Handicraft gem when you beat your first Kusha, which makes sense since it take his parts.
Why Demon Mode is busted: it doesn't flinch when hit by a Longsword
Good ol flinch free 1
Prowler Confirmed! I missed Beast mode. 😢
I was wondering why I wasn't naruto running as fast and it never occurred to me it was from feral demon mode. I thought my brain adjusted to it
The Dodge attack in feral is actually kinda neat when combined with evade extender, constitution and stamina surge. Not that it would amount to a lot of damage but consecutively rush slashing through the monster is just a very fun additional anime style thing to do with the DBs :)
It’s a freaking flash step attack and feels so damn good. And constitution is a godsend on DBs.
You say this like every reputable DB main doesn’t have maxed out constitution on at all times, with some evade extender for kicks.
@@poolturtle5772 that was not my point. Gaijin said that we won't be using the Dodge to actually attack the monster and I beg to differ with the mentioned Setup. Might just be for fun but I do it nonetheless ;-)
feral demon mode = ultra instinct dual blades
