You guys in South are a different breed to deal with 100 degree temps for months at a time. I would just be by the AC unit the whole time. Love the new build.

Born and raised in south east Texas (Houston area). Never get used to the 100 degrees with 90% humidity or the three weeks of winter. But you just have to deal with it and get stuff done. Or you can pay someone to do it for you.

You can do 3, 4, 5 to get your square, thats what builders use, or one straight line with 2 circles overlapping by 25% on the line where you want the second line squared, thats how the Egyptians did it, when building their Pyramids.😜🤪😝

The container plans of trusses to tie the whole thing together is brilliant. It creates an under cover parking garage for your tractor etc. Really nice functional plan and very doable. Great video of the family and build.

Jim and Lidia, in the future when you install batter boards or any form board just get the boards close to level but a smidge high, then tap the stakes to level. It saves time, but also removes the stress factor. From your Number One Fan...

After you place the first two corners, for the third, draw arc that's the right distance from nearest corner, then draw an arc for the diagonal, the intersection of the two arcs will be the correct placement. Repeat for the fourth corner.

Thanks for showing the layout for the build.
Glad you're incorporating a place for a storm shelter.
Every time I hear about a storm going through Louisiana I say a prayer for you and my friends in Alexandria
I hope to see Lydia doing a lot of welding.
At least the first stage is done. You've got a square spot for the containers.
This is going to be so entertaining
Watching you two do anything is entertaining. The way you approach a project. The verbal banter,The " we don't know what we're doing" to.actually doing an awesome job.
    I love it.
Thanks for showing us some farm chores.
Lydia is getting better at filling up the deer feeder.
Praying it pays off for you with a good harvest.
    Be blessed and not stressed

The containers is an awesome idea and built tough. It's crazy to think that you have to prepare for hurricanes... but glad you are preparing. Little bit of "farming" going on there and of course being from Wisconsin happy to see any sort of planting. 🙂

    Cool Idea for a shelter!!
Y'all definitely be doing some powerlifting to set them on top😀 , eat your wheaties or spinach, Jim. 😁 . Lydia 💪 Jim 💪
Y'all probably could store four wheelers, tractor, and other expensive items in there like a safe, them are some big containers.
I think we're on extended summer with midday at 100 still.
Anywho, Loved the Video of y'all 😍 !!
Catch y'all on the next one, Beautiful Cajun Family!! 👨‍👩‍👧🌟

For next time. A little bit of math (calculators everywhere on the web) and use 2 tape measures at the same time. 1 being the calculated diagonal and you get it perfect the first time. A pre-marked rope can stand in for one of the two tape measures if you don't own 2 long tapes. Just keep an eye on the stretch of the rope.

Good morning Lydia and Jim. I'm a new subscriber but been watching your vids for a while now and I'm hooked. I enjoy watching you two working together, hearing your thoughts and approach to what you do and why. Ladley is such a cutie, she gets her good looks from mom and sure loves being with dad while he's doing stuff. You two are very blessed. I saw that pic of you, Summer and Jenna at the wedding, it was a great picture. I look forward to following your build and feel you made an excellent decision on the design and intended purpose. Have a great week and be safe. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.

For square use the 3,4,5 method, place a stake in the ground and tie two strings to it. pull strings towards your 45 degree targets, measure out 3ft on one string and align the second string to where the 4ft mark is 5ft from the 3ft mark on the first string. for larger areas use multiple of something like 9,12,15.

Looking forward to seeing this build your welding skills are going to come in handy. Ladly is growing up fast it seems. I sure like seeing the old tractors. Grew up farming with Ford 6000 then Allis Chambers 190XT, where the main tractor.but operated allot of other tractors helping neighbors and friends farm it was a great way to grow up. Glad you guys are able have the experiences you have having your making great memories and a great way to raise your family.😊
