      Should the mudflaps be a little loose once installed?

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I will add one tidbit of information for anyone not used to dealing with the "clips" (like myself) that get inserted on the bottom of each back side. Don't push the clip from the bottom piece, rather hold it exactly as the person in the video shows (fingers between what appears to be a washer and the bottom piece you eventually push up), and then once the clip is inserted in the hole, you push the bottom piece and you'll hear the click. If you do like I did and push from the very bottom piece without hearing the click, you can remove the clip, gently reopen the clip, and try again (as I had to do).

    Thank you for posting this. I just used it and installed mine quite easily. I would add 2 additional tips:
    1) The holes on the guards are oblong to allow up/down adjustment. Make sure you lift them up as you snug up the screws. This will allign the guard with the existing body work without having a gap.
    2) If you don't have the special screw driver in the video, you can use a small vice grips with a phillips bit from a driver clamped in

    Hi Paul. Thanks for this video. I watched it along with many, many others while waiting to take delivery of my 2023 CR-V Sport Touring (about two months from order date to delivery). I had originally thought I’d have the dealer install these along with the purchase of the all season floor mats and rear cargo tray but after seeing this I just ordered all of that from College Hills Honda. I think the dealer wanted like $240 for these installed and it was maybe 15 minutes to do myself for ninety bucks ( the savings practically paid for the floor mats and cargo tray which were also significantly less expensive at College Hills than my dealer). My experience with installation was exactly like yours. I first turned the steering wheel counter clockwise as it said in the instructions and found the rear screw very difficult to get to and rather than struggle with it I immediately went to the passenger side and very easily installed that side first. Great tip! I also found the bottom screws in the rear to be impossible to drive in properly with a stubbier than normal screw driver. I did not have the offset screwdriver like yours so I used a phillips head driver bit and turned it with a 1/4” box wrench which actually worked out very well (a ratchet with a 1/4” socket to turn the bit wouldn’t even fit in there). Thanks again for pointing out the pit falls so I knew exactly what to expect.

    The back of my 2023 CR-V has only the screw and hole underneath, There are no other screws or holes in the wheel well.?????????

    • @zoomgas2803
      @zoomgas2803  5 місяців тому

      That is correct, as you see at 5min into the video you will reuse where the screw is, you will poke 1 additional hole and then the hole underneath you mention gets a plastic insert. Thanks for watching!

    I see that these aren't meant to be installed with the fender flares The flares still don't offer much splash/mud protection. Any idea if these would still fit over the flares or if there is an alternative for use with the flares?

    • @zoomgas2803
      @zoomgas2803  Рік тому

      The flares actually stick out further than the mud flaps, so you would need to find an aftermarket mudflap to use if you want something w wider protection. Thanks for watching!

    Hi. When installing the front mud flaps, did you find that the center tapping screws didn't screw completely tightly?

    • @zoomgas2803

      @@xsoleprophetx sometimes the factory has them tightened a little over zealously. Just ensure you have the right size Phillips head and try using a impact driver. Thanks for watching!

    Guess I don’t see the point of using OEM ones. They’re so small how effective can they possibly be?

    • @zoomgas2803
      @zoomgas2803  10 місяців тому +3

      They make a huge difference, as it’s basic geometry, so your trying to protect the rocks coming off your tires and that 1” lines up nicely with the tire overhang. Thanks for watching!

    • @jacobpetersen5662
      @jacobpetersen5662 3 місяці тому +1

      They make a BIG difference. In front, Mayne 10-15%, but in the back it's like a 80-100% difference.

    With all the black plastic wheel opening mouldings and plastic lower side panels, why even bother installing the splash guards?

    • @zoomgas2803
      @zoomgas2803  11 місяців тому

      Keeps stones and mud from kicking up and catching the side of vehicle. Thanks for watching!

    • @jacobpetersen5662
      @jacobpetersen5662 3 місяці тому

      The back of the CR-V gets quite a bit of dirt/mud on the side without the splash guards. They DO work very well. The front isn't as big of a difference.
