Marcin: the best guitarist in the world, perhaps ever. MAR-SEEN is how you say his name. A young guy from Poland, went on AGT, earned a full ride to the Berkley School of Music and in 2020 was signed to Sony in an exclusive recording contract.
Marcin Patrzałek (born October 6, 2000 in Kielce, Poland) Polish is a fingerstyle guitarist, composer and producer. He began playing classical guitar at the age of 10, under the direction of Jerzy Pikor, a teacher from Kielce. Two years later, he began learning flamenco techniques with Spanish guitarist Carlos Pinana. In 2015, he won the ninth edition of the Must Be the Music program. Only music, and in 2016 he released his debut album entitled Hush. In the same year he became a finalist of the International Fingerstyle Guitar Master Competition, and the following year he won first prize at the Joaquín Rodrigo International Classical Guitar Competition. In 2018, he won the fifth edition of the Italian program Tu Si Que Vales. On November 12, 2018, he released an EP entitled revAMP, containing his most popular arrangements. Previously, he released his own single "Baba Yaga". In 2019, he entered the 14th edition of America's Got Talent, in which he reached the semi-finals. In 2020, he signed a contract with Sony Music. See also, 17 year old Marcin arranged & performed "Master of Puppets" by Metallica.
As a 14 year old, who'd been listening to Zeppelin for a few years, when this album came out in '75 and I heard this song the first time it immediately became my favorite song. Oh to go back almost 50 years and hear it for the first time again. According to Jimmy, as he was explaining to the Edge and Jack White, this riff is just a finger exercise he played backwards. And as someone else stated not an orchestra, John Paul Jones and his magic fingers and feet on a Mellotron. Check out the live version from the O2 arena in 2006 with Jason Bonham on his father's yellow drum kit.
Wow Dev is spot on with her observations here. Zeppelin are just a titanic, transcendent band. The way I've started thinking about recently is this - just think, they gave the world four monumental albums, including world changing tunes like SIBLY, Immigrant Song, Levee Breaks, Whole Lotta Love, and Stairway. And even if you discount HOTH, then along comes Physical Graffiti and album one alone gives us In My Time of Dying, Trampled, The Rover, and this epic. It's truly mind-blowing, to live through that time must have been sheer ecstasy. No wonder Zeppelin continue to be so passionately appreciated by so many.
Marcin Patrzałek to geniusz gitary, posłuchajcie jego wykonania Moonligh sonata, Still dre ,Paganini caprice nr 24,Masters & Papeas ,Baba yaga, Toxicity, pozdrawiam 👋👍
We are premiering two Kashmir reaction videos back-to-back so don't miss out! Join us Monday, Feb 13th at 10am PST/1pm EST/18.00 GMT (19.00 Central European)
Hi, great reaction! The best for English speaking people to pronounce his name is [mar-cheen putt-shuw-weck]. I guess he was barely 20 when he did this. If you want to see a long cover, see Marcin's version of "Master of puppets" from Metallica. It's 'millions of notes to remember" as one vlogger described it. It's over 7 mins ling, you won't regret seeing it. Marchin was 17 or eighteen when he recorded it. He's unique for his highly percussive style of finger playing. His works are melange of classical guitar education, flamenco, good drumming and vision. Greetings from Poland, a homeland of Marcin Patrzałek, our pride.
Not sure if you guys have already reviewed it but their version of Kashmir on the celebration day concert is out-of-this-world with John Bonham's son on drums and the other 3 tigether once again. The video and sound production was unbelievable... probably the best video ever made of Kashmir....with these 3 guys in their sixties playing it it was recorded in 2007 at the O2 Arena London. Plants voice is absolutely still awesome
Oh Yes spot on. Theyre all gettig old but they stil sound the same. Awesome. Haxe u seen they're induction to Hall of Fame so emotional well worth a watch love peace n RESPECT xxx
I missed most of this so I will have to watch it later. I think that at one point the use of an orchestra was mentioned. I believe that it wasn't an orchestra and that JPJ used a Mellotron
Dev has hit the nail fair and square on the head. As Robert sings it “ Let me take you there, let me take…..you there”. It does and always will transcend both time and space. Thank you both for the great work you do .
This is a monstrous , monumental song. Jimmy Page always said this was the ultimate Zeppelin song because no one member stood out...they were all equally shining. It is the Tyrannosaurus Rex of all rock songs. Never matched and never will be. Bonham's drums are hypnotizing and thunderous. Plant's scream clocks in at 15 seconds ( I think ) .
Since Feb 1975 Kashmir grabbed my ears, mind, & soul and has never let go. Truly a masterpiece and damn Percy’s voice!!!!! Just think on the 24th this gem will be 48 years old & still gets to everyone I have ever met. They did a phenomenal performance in 2007 Celebration Day also. Simply stunning. Robert has made the statement many times Kashmir is quintessential Zep it’s his & Jimmys favorite. Robert said I strongly believe Zep would be synonymous with Kashmir if only that little ditty come along a few years earlier. I just love him and his humor. Thank you Dev & Mike for all the work you do. You are tremendously appreciated
Bought Physical Graffiti in Germany. One song. Heard for the first time sitting around with friends consuming mass quantities. Over and over. Still my favorite song almost 50 years later!
Kashmir is Zeppelin's seminal work. There were great riffs before Kashmir; Page previously used the DADGAD tuning, and Friends pre-dates this song's eastern influence, but here is where everything comes together. This is a complex, serious composition. Kashmir forced critics to re-think the arc of the band and how their arrangements and Plant's lyrics matured. Enjoyed the reaction and, as always, very glad to see the interesting covers you guys always seem to find.
I heard this song for the first time February 4, 1975 at the Nassau Coliseum. A month or so before it was released on the album. All of us were like what the hell was that?! We were quite aware that it was different than anything we had heard before whether from Zeppelin or anyone else. A masterpiece. And as far as I’m concerned, completes the trilogy of the three songs that give you everything you’d ever want to know about Zeppelin. Whole Lotta Love, Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir.… Blues-based hard rock riffing… light and heavy with Celtic influence… and eastern influence… yeah!
I recommend the first report with Marcin Sprawałek Master Of Puppets on One Guitar - Marcin Terazalek (Metallica) Who would throw such a punch at such a music legend? Marcin, whose instrument limits!
Re the Puff Daddy cover. I think it was on SNL, but Jimmy Page was playing guitar in a live performance, onstage with ("Puff"? "Daddy"?) the guy as he was performing the cover. At the end Puff did have the good graciousness to do the "I'm not worthy" Wayne's World Bow to Jimmy, so I gave him props for that! That dude you showed--however old, right?--playing this on acoustic guitar was awesome! "The Main Squeeze" has a great cover of this epic masterpiece as well!
Coincidentally(?), last night I dreamed of an opening to a song. It was about 30 seconds long, and it was EPIC. It was interesting and unique and featured a massive bass part that sped up towards the end. BUT, I'm not a musician. AND, even worse, I woke up too fast and lost most of the memory of the specifics of the song. So, this great piece (which I'm sure could have been easily turned into a full song). is lost in the ether. Anyway, please, the next time you are going down the road, and don't hear 'my song', remember to think of my epic song ....
Unfortunately for me I will be attending the Liverpool v Everton football/soccer match that evening and the pub I will be in has crap wifi and my smartphone data is down to almost zero ffs. I’m betting Dev recognises the song from hearing it used in numerous films and tv shows since 1975.
When manager Peter Grant first heard the song , he thought it was long , boring , and depressing. Page had to remind him....he was the manager...Page was the musician. 🔥🤘
No no you guys need to do a reaction to the 2007 live concert of Kashmir. Are the 1995 version off the no quarter album takes you to another atmosphere.
This song was how I first discovered the band in 4th grade 1976. But I will only listen to the original version or from the Mothership CD. I will not listen to covers of this even from Page and Plant which pales in comparison and they wrote the damn song. Only the original version for me, that's it...
Don’t know how you guys manage to avoid the two outstanding live versions of this song……but you did. celebration Day 2007….and the Unplugged version from, I believe, 1995 with Page and Plant and Egyptian orchestra. 🙄
Actually, my friend Steve doesn't like this song, lol! Zeppelin IS his fav group, and the second album his fav album, but he just doesn't freakin like Kashmir, heh! I think he thinks it's overhyped or something, I never really pressed him on it (I don't love "Four Sticks," myself--Robert's nasally voice, maybe?). MY liking for it has grown thru the decades, however, especially for Bonzo's drumming. I can't explain it in text, but JPJ's keyboards are lacking a BIT--otherwise, "perfect Zeppelin"!
i grow up on led, metalica, guns, he is not a human he is a robot i kept watching his fingers and everything is spot on with sound.... i hate him. and love at this same time.

You definitely should check other Marcin arrangements he is one of the best guitarist in the WORLD
Plant wrote the lyrics as he and Page drove across Moroccan desert sands during one of their holiday trips.
His play style is busking and yes very much like a Spanish flamenco guitarist
Marcin genialny

please tell me youre doing the 2007 live version? the boys NAILED it!
At some point, yes, of course! Lol
YoU need to listen to the late Ofra Haza's version. It is a beautiful interpretation
Please use the Kashmir video from Knebworth 1979. It blows away the 77 one.
