Kikongo na nge kele mbote mingi. Nge longukaka yo mbote mpenza. However, Kikongo was not the official language of the Kongo Kingdom. There was no notion of "official language" then. Kikongo ya Leta, aka Kikongo Kibulamatadi or Kikongo-Kituba, emerged during the colonial period, in the "centres extracoutumiers," where people speaking different languages, including some outside the Kikongo cluster, came in contact. Kiambote kiaku. I don't speak kikongo so it's hard to put you a note but since the last video of kikongo you've made you really seem more fluent. One of my goal is to speak kikongo even though if I'm not Congolese. BaKongo left a huge heritage outside of Africa too. It's awesome. My question is are the Lari in Brazzaville speak the same kikongo as your? Im learning their way of speaking kikongo. I wonder if it's compatible with the other kikongo. Thank you ❤️
I am also learning Kikongo even though I am not Congolese. I am learning the Kituba or Kikongo ya Leta variety spoken in the DRC. I have a book on the KiLari spoken in Congo Brazaville. The vocabulary seems similar, but the grammar seems very different and much more difficult. I think that's what she meant when she talked about Kikongo ya ngolo ("hard Kikongo").
Yes, Kilari seems a bit different to what I speak, though I have not really heard it spoken fluently. But I suppose there are more similarities than differences. I think we should have someone from Congo Brazza on one day and compare 😅
@@CudjoFox thank you for the information. How did you learn the the variety spoken in RDC. I could only find information on how to learn kilari. Is it better to speak the kikongo spoken in RDC. It's the one closest to the original is it not?🤔
@Diasongi In DRC there are Kikongo (Kiyombe, Kintandu, Kindibu, Kimanianga, etc.) and Kikongo ya Leta (Kituba). Kikongo ya Leta is a Kikongo based creole and one of the four national languages. In the Republic of the Congo there are Kikongo (Boko's kikongo, Kihaangala, Kiyombe, Civili (pronunciation : Tchivili, Tshivili or Chivili (Tchi/Chi/Tshiveelee)) , Tsiladi (pronunciation : Tilari (teelaree))/Ciladi (pronunciation : Tchilari, Tshilari or Chilari (Tchi/Tshi/Chilaree)), etc.) and Kituba. Kituba is one of the two national languages. Tsiladi/Ciladi/Kiladi is a mixture of Kongo languages (Kinsundi, Kihaangala,…) with Téké influences. Ladi/Lari speak more Tsiladi/Ciladi than Kituba in the Republic of the Congo. There are Ladi/Lari who speak Tsiladi/Ciladi and Kinsundi + not all Tsiladi/Ciladi speakers are Kongo, meaning a Téké of the Pool province can speak Tsiladi/Ciladi and Kitéké. Tsiladi/Ciladi is a vehicular language in the Pool province and is also spoken in the south of Brazzaville. In the Republic of the Congo not all Téké people speak and understand Tsiladi/Ciladi, meaning Tsiladi/Ciladi and Kitéké (Téké-Tyo, Téké-Kukuya,…) are not intercomprehensible. In Angola there is Kikongo (Kisikongo, Kizombo, Tchibinda/Kibinda/Cibinda, etc.). TV news in Angola is also in Kikongo (Fiote,…) and others national languages. In Gabon there is Civili. The kingdom of Loango had influence beyond Nyanga province. Each variety of Kikongo has evolved in its own way. All varieties of Kikongo are not completely intercomprehensible (examples : Civili is better understood by a Kiyoombi speaker than a Kisikongo speaker and Kimanianga is better understood by a Ciladi speaker than a Civili speaker.). Talongokeno on Twitter and WordPress (Learn some basics of Tsiladi/Ciladi and Civili)

Hi, they do have similarities yes. And yes the two words are the same verb, one is conjugated and the other is not. Kukwenda is the verb to go and mukwenda is short for mono kwenda (I go).
@@regismatondo7230 these words all have cognates in Kenyan Swahili. Kikongo is much closer to Swahili than Lingala is. Here are the Swahili words: Kukwenda: to go (Kokende in Lingala). - (Kuenda in swahili, although poor speakers will say "kukwenda) Kulala: to sleep (Kolala). - (Kuala in Swahili) Madidi: the cold (Malili). - (Baridi in swahili. Similar to Madidi) Kuseka: to laugh (Koseka) - (Kucheka in swahili. Just a minor sound change from Kikongo) Kusekisa: to make someone laught (Kosekisa) - (Kuchekesha in swahili. Very similar to Kikongo) Wapi: where? (Wapi) - (Wapi in swahili) Kupesa: to give, to offer (Kopesa) - (Kupa in swahili, although poor speakers will say kupea. Similar to Kikongo) Nioka: the snake (nioka) - (Nyoka in swahili. Same word) Nani: Who? (Nani) - (Nani in swahili. Same word) Mwana nketo: a young lady (mwana mwasi). - (Swahili mwanawali is closest. I do not think it is a cognate) Diambu (mambu in plural): problem, trouble (likambo, makambo) - (Jambo/Mambo in swahili means an issue. Kikongo words are cognates, I think) Mataku (plural): the hind quaters, the backside. (Masoko) - (Matako in swahili means the same) Nzila: the road, the street (Nzela) - (Njia in swahili is a cognate of Nzila. The sounds are slightly different ...) Disu (meso in plural): an eye. (Liso, miso). (Jicho/Macho in swahili are cognates) Bala-bala: street, road. (Bala-bala) (bara bara in swahili ...) Ndeke: a bird (ndeke) - (Ndege in swahili) Ngoma: tambor (mbonda). (Ngoma in swahili) Mazusi: yesterday (lobe) - (Juzi/Majuzi - The day before yesterday in swahili)

As a non speaker of Kikongo, it sounds very similar to Lingala. They are both bantu languages so I guess there are similarities. It sounds magical to my ears.
It sounds like lingala because lingale was enriched by kikongo . In fact , lingala borrowed many words from kikongo , for kikongo is richer than lingala .Kikongo was the first bantu language to have a dictionary in the 17 th century and to use the latin letters .

We want to keep only one kikongo, the original kikongo spoken in ancient kongo kingdom. This one is another type of kikongo born during the colonial time.To avoid confusion, we call it munukutuba.
There's not one single Kikongo and if we want to unify Kikongo I think we should select kituba as the official one and incorporate the other variants in kituba it's beautiful it's sounds great
@@Andre-km6nm .Kituba itself is not original kikongo .Sometimes in kituba you hear lingala words .How is it going to unify kikongo ? Another problem is in Angola where the capital of the Kongo Kingdom was , people don't know kituba and don't recognize it as kikongo .Therefore , choosing kitiba as a variant tu unify kikongo will be a mistake .That will lead to the total disppearance the rich traditionnal kikongo language spoken in ancient kongo kingdom and extinction of kongo culture.
But do you know that the kituba is even dominion in the all of congo central ? All the big cities matadi, mwanda, boma, ispeak kituba instead of the original that sound as a dialect ? Same as in the the brazZaville big cities don't speak the original kikongo dialect ,but they all speak kituba? In bandundu all the big cities as well speak kituba ? Angola don't have a big number of kikongo speaker like Brazzaville and gabon ? The kituba is dominion in congo central and bandundu the majority speak kituba, only a few number speak original, just like lingala ya bakanja and the actual lingala ,can you d3nied the actual lingala because it doesn't like lingla bakanja ? Or can you reverse the time so that we can all speak lingala bakanja and not the actual lingala which is already popular? Every languages have evolved to itself so le mono kutuba is already popular kikongo you cannot reverse it and it's already in the book and recognised as the national kikongo. language
Yes but les kituba still dominate the region both in the Drc and in the congo Brazzaville, but also know it that, not all the people into the kongo kingdom were speaking that kikongo dia ntontila, because there were different tribes, but after the colonial conquered the kongo kingdom,a common language was installed to allow the peoples understand each other,so what you need to understand is that not all the peoples who were part of the kongo kingdom were speaking that kikongo diantontila because even that language was also considered as a dialects like kisundi,or le kiyombe, but le kituba reunited us all from kongo central tribes, part of bandndu and Brazzaville tribes and that's why le kituba remained as dominate dominate as it's today .if le kikongo dia ntontila was the official language into the whole kongo central, why than the colonial will have to abolished? Why le kinianga,le kiyombe,le kisundi and other more tribal languages never vanished? But still there even before the creation of the kongo kingdom and still alive until today ? That because each coner of the kongo kingdom had their tribal language, and le kikongo diantontila was also a tribal language speaking into the centre of the kingdom but not all the tribe ,so it not also an official language, le kituba became official because everyone both in the drc and congo Brazzaville we can understand each other better, but le kikongo dia ntontila,is not understood or speaking in matadi or boma, mwanda, in bandundu,or congo Brazzaville because it seems the same like all other dialects in kongo. But we're all knowledgeable that le kituba took it origine into the kikongo ya ntontila and other dialects around it.
It’s nothing like the Kikongo you speak for sure but my dear you don’t hold the monopoly of Kikongo. I could say the same thing about the one you speak as well but I understand languages don’t work that way.
@@CongoTalks243 but sweetheart angolan kikongo is the original the others are more creole off the language but hey you got a very gorgeous face 👀where you from you live in congo?
Kituba Kikongo ya L'etat is Kikongo I speak Kizombo and I understand her very well and I love kituba KiKongo it's not a unified language but we do understand eachother
Yes I couldn't agree more with you. Kikongo being a eternal language it's condemned to have many dialects. Whatever the dialect one speaks, one can also understand more than 80% of the others in average.

Thank you! I hope you do learn Lingala. :)
Hi again. Is 'mukwenda' same as 'kukwenda' (to go)? I find that Kikongo(Kituba) share some words with Swahili.
Here are the Swahili words:
Kukwenda: to go (Kokende in Lingala). - (Kuenda in swahili, although poor speakers will say "kukwenda)
Kulala: to sleep (Kolala). - (Kuala in Swahili)
Madidi: the cold (Malili). - (Baridi in swahili. Similar to Madidi)
Kuseka: to laugh (Koseka) - (Kucheka in swahili. Just a minor sound change from Kikongo)
Kusekisa: to make someone laught (Kosekisa) - (Kuchekesha in swahili. Very similar to Kikongo)
Wapi: where? (Wapi) - (Wapi in swahili)
Kupesa: to give, to offer (Kopesa) - (Kupa in swahili, although poor speakers will say kupea. Similar to Kikongo)
Nioka: the snake (nioka) - (Nyoka in swahili. Same word)
Nani: Who? (Nani) - (Nani in swahili. Same word)
Mwana nketo: a young lady (mwana mwasi). - (Swahili mwanawali is closest. I do not think it is a cognate)
Diambu (mambu in plural): problem, trouble (likambo, makambo) - (Jambo/Mambo in swahili means an issue. Kikongo words are cognates, I think)
Mataku (plural): the hind quaters, the backside. (Masoko) - (Matako in swahili means the same)
Nzila: the road, the street (Nzela) - (Njia in swahili is a cognate of Nzila. The sounds are slightly different ...)
Disu (meso in plural): an eye. (Liso, miso). (Jicho/Macho in swahili are cognates)
Bala-bala: street, road. (Bala-bala) (bara bara in swahili ...)
Ndeke: a bird (ndeke) - (Ndege in swahili)
Ngoma: tambor (mbonda). (Ngoma in swahili)
Mazusi: yesterday (lobe) - (Juzi/Majuzi - The day before yesterday in swahili)
@@vowuorindeed, Kikongo is definitely closer to Kiswahili than any other Bantu language. Both share the same tonality and poetic symmetry.
Is kikongo similar to any congo languages like tshiluba and others
Yes it very similar they are both Bantu languages and are related through the great Bantu migration

As a non speaker of Kikongo, it sounds very similar to Lingala. They are both bantu languages so I guess there are similarities. It sounds magical to my ears.
Yes, they are similar and bantu languages spoken in western DRC
It sounds like lingala because lingale was enriched by kikongo . In fact , lingala borrowed many words from kikongo , for kikongo is richer than lingala .Kikongo was the first bantu language to have a dictionary in the 17 th century and to use the latin letters .

@@rodrigorodders7173 hi.. Do u speak ki kongo?
C est bien mais, ils t ont appris le kituba.
@@mbakunkasa3784 isn’t kituba a Congolese creole
@@Monke_boi13yes, it's indeed.
Every languages have evolved to itself so le mono kutuba is already popular kikongo you cannot reverse it and it's already in the book and recognised as the national kikongo. language
You're talking KİTUBA not KİKONGO
Do you know how the people in her village or area speak Kikongo? Stop judging her if you have nothing to say then don't post any video
But we're all knowledgeable that le kituba took it origine into the kikongo ya ntontila and other dialects around it.
you are amazing and beautiful... are u single?
Thank you! I appreciate it.
so do you mind sharing your number, am in multimedia maybe we might do a project together in future....

Yes I couldn't agree more with you. Kikongo being a eternal language it's condemned to have many dialects. Whatever the dialect one speaks, one can also understand more than 80% of the others in average.
