Another neat thing about this game is the reason behind the graphical style.
See, in order to allow the 'play any cd' feature, they had to be able to fit the entire game onto the PS1's ultimately pretty tiny RAM, as was mentioned in the video. In any game, the vast majority of file space is taken up by image files. Sprites, textures, whatever. So how did they save space? By not having any of that crap! Every single graphic in the entire game was drawn using line generation. the only files present are text and audio. It's pretty rad, if you ask me!
Caddy's lyrics at 11:04 are pretty much the exact lyrics to the song.

Thanks for bringing this obscure little game to my attention! It looks absolutely adorable (except for the evil squiggly eyes that keep...squiggling...) I would buy this just to hear that cute squeaky voice of Vibri's.

actually, it did get a sequel. It's called Vib Ripple, which to my knowledge is exclusively released in japan. It was on the PS2.

This ought to be released on mobile with buttons on the corners. It's the most natural transition because you could use phone music libraries.

No way would this be "more natural" on PC - it just wouldn't work like that.
Not really. This game presumes the ability to press any two of the command buttons at the same time and helps learning how to do that by making the movements for every comand very distinct (thumbs simply press down, while index fingers simply pull towards you). As such, putting buttons on the corners will make for an incredibly awkward experience, as you'd need to use two fingers per hand on the screen. Even a PC port would be slightly awkward, due to every finger doing the same movement, increasing the learning curve.
In other words, this game was made to be played with a controller and it would be very difficult to reproduce the experience with a keyboard or touch screen.

Caddy bought a rare item on eBay for a ridiculously cheap price. This may be the last Caddicarus video ever made as there is clearly a demonic entity that transferred from the game to Caddy. It will spend the next ten years eating away at his sanity until he inevitably kills himself, then it will transfer onto whoever finds the body. R.I.P in pieces.

Well, there will always be that reference in Astro's Playroom.
The existence of this game doubles my already massive desire to put together the ultimate PS1 gaming station. I'd really like to use Vib Ribbon to promote my own music. Maybe I will send you a special CD with Vibri hastily drawn onto the top and a gold brick with the words "PLAY THEM ALL" ominously etched into it.

When the title screen music started and Vibri began dancing, I just put my hands on my face and made the most high pitched squee from the sheer cuteness! Great video Caddy, this might be my favorite review you've done. I've heard of Vib Ribbon and I've got my eye out in case I should come across it, sounds like just the sort of quirky, diffenent, cute, and fun ps1 game I love
Strange thing is, I feel the same way. I like how this game looks, especially how you can use custom music. (I really do love how adorable Vibri is, too.)
