Your comment about the lyrics being odd perhaps being due to translation problems from the original Japanese is almost right. The problem was there was no original Japanese. The original language was English, written by Masaya Matsuura. It's kinda-nonsense English written by a Japanese man.

I agree with Caddy's views on the cooking stage. I think it's a glitch specific to the remastered version. You can press the buttons at near perfect timing and it still counts as a miss. Hopefully it gets fixed eventually.
