Even if you make the bumpers take more abuse it will still break there will always be something wrong with the new controller new improvements can make weaknesses elsewhere in the controller

Well, the most important thing I noticed it was the paddles. They were shortened. On elite 1 were too big, I can use just 1 each side. Definitive buying!
Julio Manfrini same, I use the shorter paddles on the bottom slots for each side, and just left the bigger ones off. It was way too hard to grip the controller with all 4 paddles on, hoping that’s not the case with this one
I'm really hoping that they shortened them significantly, or I'm going to take them off and put them on my grinder until i get them down to the length i want them at.

Bro for real, I feel like they made everything right with this new controller except for bumper durability, but if I have to choose between bumper weakness or stick drift- I’m happy they fixed the stick drift

I got over 10k hrs out of my elite one controller before it finally started to have issues. More than happy with its performance. I would only change two things on this it would be perfect for me. Stiffer than the 360 on the stiffest setting and make the micro usb connect more robust like on the razor controllers. Btw the razor I bought to be backup duty didn’t last but two months before issues started arising.
Elite 1.0: I went through 5 or 6 controllers since initial launch, problems consist of broken bumpers, stick drift, micro-usb port breaking, and on 1 the grip started coming up on. On another non-verified note I do believe the trigger stops started getting sponge-like.

If they have the elite controller series one stick modules still they can keep the controller. I've own 4 elite controllers and although I love them, all 4 have stick drift. And good luck dealing with the warranty department.
This controller has one massive fault; The shoulder buttons dosent have support behind them - so over time they get pushed into the controller making you push harder and harder untill it dosent register any more. Excellent on all other areas, 1000hrs +

I had to return my first elite series 2 core today because it wouldn't charge. Luckily the replacement does. All my other 4 regular xbox one/series x controllers are broken in some form or another: stick drift, rb damaged, etc. Just from use. Never abused.

my elite series 2 broke in less then 2 months the left stick only moves upwards and even if i am not touching it it continues to scroll upwards so i cannot play at all
