Road to the Arnold - 2019 - Ray Williams

  • It was one of the breakout highlights of the 2018 Arnold Sports Festival: powerlifter Ray Williams (aka “Optimus Prime”) squatting 1,069 LBS in front of the crowd in Columbus. One year later, that would seem like a tough act to follow, but Ray isn’t sweating it. Williams has never faced an easy road in life, from a difficult childhood through the day when he found his calling in football and strength training. “When you come from nothing, and you finally get the opportunity to make your dreams come true, you put everything you can into it.”

John Mead they’re objectively judged. The numbers don’t lie. So they can’t feed their ego. That’s why I like athletes from number sports like track, lifting, rowing, etc. other sports, there’s always an excuse when comparing results.
