To be fair though china severely lacks air power their airframes and guided munitions, especially air tear or ATA missiles are feeble to put it nicely. Several of their “scariest” jets are in low supply. So China is scary on paper but most of their arsenal is outdated, soldiers ill equipped and barely trained or hardened. So nuclear and ICBM is really their only true strengths.

But now the United States has a new rifle to be issued, the Sig Sauer xm-5 .it’s 6.8 mm round is supposed to be capable of penetrating body armor and vests. As a US Air Force veteran, I often wondered HOW in the hell did Germany become such a HUGE military power, over just a few years before WW-II broke out?

The collapse of two Weimar government coalitions, and their "debt repayments" issues was partially instrumental in the COLLASPE of the entire World Economy by 1929.
Like with what happened over those relatively few years, along with what happened during WWI, WHO were so dumb and stupid enough to then help Germany to build BACK UP that massive amount of RAW military POWER?

You have done a computer game players analysis. Assessing the number weapons, but completely ignored the countries ability to organise and use them.
So for example you have not observed that Chinese stealth submarines can be detected very easily and at a great distance. Also that the Chinese Navy has severe target acquisition issues and cannot operate effectively at any great distance from Chins.
Did you know that a Chinese officer has to spend about 30% of their time studying Marxist Leninism and that promotion is based on that more than military skills? That the army is not given any sophisticated training such as complex unit deployment in battle scenarios. (The sort of stuff we take for granted in the movies for American troops). That there is very little co-ordination between the Army, air force and navy and that joint manoeuvres are pre-choreographed with no room for a change of tactics during them?
Unlike NATO where each commander is able to change tactics at will.

In addition there is the building of man made islands off shore in order to lay claims to extended territorial seas and grab undersea resources. Finally add to that the territorial disputes for islands with numerous other countries, again seeming to be about extending territorial waters.
China has a massive standing internal army too. That is not about protecting her people, but about crushing them into silence and obedience. There is also the genocide being waged against the Uyghur people. I doubt they see the Chinese government as peaceful.

In summary China is far from a defensive only authoritarian state. Also, were I writing this to you in China I would likely be arrested.

American behaviour does not make China's Uyghurs genocide acceptable.
The systematic crushing of free speech in China is not acceptable by any international standard other than those values espoused by autocratic states and despots. The fact that China needs such a massive internal army to keep order say much about the country.
I have devoted most of my spare time throughout my life studying Han ancient History. China is an exceptional region with much to offer the world and much to gain from it.
Sadly China has run into a major economic dead end. The demographics are that there are too many elderly people and too few workers. This is a common issue for highly developed economies. China is the first country to hit this issue before passing the 'middle income trap.' She could alleviate the issue by freeing up those vast numbers of working age people currently locked up in the army she uses to oppress her own people. This won't be enough though, but it will buy some time. The only way China will ever be able to resolve the massive levels of poverty for most of her citizens is to work closely with other developed nations as partners. China's isolationism is killing it.
Respectfully I suggest you do quite a bit more reading. There are many in the 'West' who respect and like China and obsessing about the Americans and posturing as non-aggressive when clearly expansionist and dreadfully repressive, will get China and yourself nowhere.
