They do. They put hundreds of silos in the middle of nowhere so in a nuclear exchange, the enemy have to waste more nukes to take out these silos, and have less nuke left to attack cities.
What’s better, most of these silos can be left empty, but since the enemy is not sure which silo has the real nuke, they just waste extra ammo to destroy each and very silo.

Militarily.. the US and alliance melted away the Talibs in an instant.... but the US is historically awful at holding territory for long term... it would have been better off handing that task over to someone else and then just supplying the resources... and maybe that is what they have done with the Taliban when they reliased the Afgan gov were corrupt and not viable. The US main priority wasn't to defeat the Taliban ; it was to keep out the Jihand networks... if the Talibs made a peace deal with the US.. its possible, they might have been handed that role.
China has a traditional army and if it went to war with the US, it would be an actual war and not a weird 20 year semi-war like Afghanistan. Remember that the US removed the taliban from power in mere days. If the US wanted, it can return to Afghanistan anytime and kick the taliban back into the mountains. It’s only a matter of for how long.

The US has 800+ military bases around the world. It is the US we should be worried about. The US has been at war 93% of the time - 227 out of 245 years - since its founding in 1776. i.e. the U.S. has only been at peace for less than 20 years total since its birth.

The Chinese army was built around counter-intervention capabilities (only for the US). Advancing rapidly over the years, they are yet to be powerful enough to take on the US on a full-scale conventional conflict. However, the PLA has what it takes to deter other factions from interfering in a regional war like an assault on Taiwan, and it already has a crushing advantage over ROC military forces. As long as the cost outweighs the gain the US will not attempt to intervene in the war on Taiwan.

Each speedboat will be equipped with:
1. Two rows of vertical launch missiles tubes --- the first row of tube consisting of four medium range surface-to-air guided missiles (anti-aircraft heat seeking missile); the second row of tube consisting of four medium range surface-to-surface guided missiles (anti-ship ballistic missile, ASBM) --- to turn the aircraft carrier into a sitting duck.
2. 2. Each side of the boat equip with two torpedoes tubes with guided torpedoes.
3. 3. In the rear, equip with two depth-charge launchers or vertical launch anti-submarine rocket.
4. 4. One self-defense short-range cannon.
5. 5. With a six men crew.
6. During the attack, all ten speedboats will coordinate their firepower to just one ship they escort, and/or shadow.
Ten speedboats with the total firepower of 40 anti-aircraft missiles and 40 anti-ship missiles. 20 torpedoes or 20 anti-submarine rockets. All you need is one or two missiles hit the target.
In additional, all those speedboats will be backup by:
A. On shore “aircraft-carrier killer” missile such as the Chinese DF-21D.
B. Aircraft carriers
C. Destroyers
D. Frigates
E. Corvettes
F. Submarines

Lessons which every country is now copying
1. Body armour- the USA underestimated the imapct of assault weapons after Vietnam they didn't.
2. Close air support.
Every military world wide is building close air support against guerilla insurgents
3.helicopters, before the war helicopters were toys after they developed to what they are now.
4. Medical and psychological lessons are too many to list.
Basically the entire us military is a product of Vietnam and it's a world beating army with only a few chance casualties since then.
Yeah, but the issue that is always is forgotten in these two wars, both Korea and Vietnam, it was not a war to the 'death', like in World War 2, the United States had no choice after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Only after that the mighty war machine of the United States went into full strength and that war was conquer or be conquered. This was never the case in Vietnam or Korea, so naturally the US did not gave it all. Otherwise they could have simply nuked both North Vietnam and North Korea to a big parking lot.
Actually the US already way behind in the military weapon development such as the hypersonic missiles. The US has yet to test one successfully as recent as last month.
Besides, Big different between the China's and the US military personnel is that the China's military personnel are pledged to serve the country and is willing to die for it. Where the US military personnel is all volunteers and paid for with a sign up bonus approximately of US $10,000. They will not consider to die in the battlefield as a option; especially the battlefield is at a foreign soil. That is why the US loss all those wars they started in the foreign soil.

"Never" might not be appropriate here. US actually went to war with China in Korean peninsula in the 1950s. US did not won that war, but did got some achievement elsewhere. The 7th fleet stopped Chinese PLA to end Chinese civil war, and let the ROC regime remain in the Taiwan Island till today.
