I used to maintain the payphones at the Frenchburg Job Corps Center located in the RR Gorge. Was the first one to drive thru the Nada Tunnel once when there was 8 inches of fresh snow! Absolutely beautiful to see the all the ice hanging over the tunnel entrance & exit. Breathtakingly beautiful. Felt like I was entering a Jurassic Park!
Thank you for sharing those beautiful sights in the Kentucky Trailhead. That one huge butte with the trees on top was spectacular! Dinner looked delicious! Safe travels as you explore more of the state.😉👍
I live in Tennessee and have been to KY a few times,......beautiful forests and mountains!.....God bless you and stay safe and healthy!.....good to see you traveling again!
@@zacplaysleague5868 Make sure you visit a lot first. Kentucky is very different, if you’ve been living in civilization... extremely high rate of people living on disability and the back country is very behind.
Kentucky is civilized, granted there are a few issues but all states have their own unique set of problems. We are not that far behind, I have 5g internet, etc. Lol. We aren't stuck in cave times, we've moved on up to the 21st century. Wish you well and have a great time in my beautiful state.
Love your videos! My wife “drug” back here thru our 52 years of marriage to finally retire here. Absolutely love it here!! I especially appreciate the videography! The extra steps setting up and editing ; among the best on UA-cam! Keep it up! God’s speed! Al
So beautiful. That's what's so nice and was so unexpected for me moving from California to New England - that the scenery is always changing, little by little, through each season. What was beautiful green forest changes to the colors of fall and, as the leaves fall, new vistas open up, so the same place is never the same. Did you know that Kentucky has the largest cave system in the world? Hope Mammoth Cave is open and you can visit it. Peace and continued good health to you. ☮️
Just finished my breakfast watching your adventures in Kentucky. Great views in Kentucky which is close to my state North Carolina. I have never been to Kentucky but now I going to escape next year.Love You Brother.
Nothing like a late setting sun to make an impromptu parking lot look like an oasis of peace & tranquility. Sure was a beautiful hiking trail thanks for letting us tag along✌️
Looks like you arrived here in KY just in time for the best weather of the year. Our unbridled humidity has left us for a few days and this week will be beautiful. If you plan to stay in KY on your way south there is a good chance of clear weather to see the moonbow at Cumberland Falls in about 10 days. Enjoy, This is as good as it gets here in KY.
Great hiking experienced there Brian, I love it. Beautiful place, I’ll visit that in the summer. Always wish you luck and safe travels Brian. Take care
Oh man the Van life, I wish I was younger, I'd join you out there, what freedom, I traveled in the music industry for 30 years, but I couldn't enjoy my travels because of my work out there, I would have loved to travel like your doing, just free to see the sights, fell the Breese on your face, man thank you for showing your exciting ventures, loving you're video's, always Elvis ❤👍❤💯❤👋⚡
Oh man I'm sorry, I thought you were in love with your travels, I always loved the traveling, I loved seeing different places, different people, I just never got to spend anytime visiting places, that till this day I would give anything to visit...Im 100 percent disabled now, im a Diabetic, so my travels are over, God bless you my friend...I hope you find happiness out there in the freedom of the highway, always Elvis 👍🙏☝️⚡
Loved the nature hike! Great scenery, loved the hills and caves,, that stairway was absolutely fantastic, loved every step you took,, ok saw your supper there at the last of your video, thanks for that, Always Elvis 👋❤👍👋⚡
I believe you showed the rock house, a natural shelter in the walls of the rock cliffs where I and many other folks have camped. You have to climb about 30 feet up a natural chimney to get to it, but the views from inside are spectacular. Kentucky is loaded with so much natural beauty, you may not want to leave.
Have family from Ironton. My late grandmother helped establish the college campus there. If it wasn't for that, the place would have become a ghost town since all the industry there got shut down. Carlisle Tile that was there made much of the tile that was put into the White House years ago.
Love to live vicariously through you 😍. I'm surprised there's no snow where you've been recently. Looking forward to where you land in Florida... Don't t forget to check out Fort Desoto (park, beach, campsite-crowded, the fort itself and the views!) 👍✌️🌄
Back in the 70's, Ironton had the best FM radio in the tri-state area, but I can't remember the call letters. I remember first hearing of a new band called Lynyrd Skynyrd on that station! You're making me recall some long lost memories on this leg of your journey. Many Thanks, Brian!
I've been across that big bridge in a semi. I retired this past April of 2020, bought a Ford Transit van mid high roof and moved into it. It's a 2016. It was very thoughtful that medal steps were installed.
RRG is definitely one of the most stunning areas in KY. If you are looking for a lesser known gem on the way to TN check out the Big South Fork NRRA. It straddles the border and is a huge and gorgeous region. The Blue Heron area on the KY side is a restored mining community on the banks of the Big South Fork of the Cumberland River. It has a cool self-guided interpretive tour and you can take a ride on a historic narrow guage train ride there and back from Stearns (or just drive). The TN side has a place called Twin Arches that include two of the tallest sandstone arches in the eastern US. Lot's of goid camping and hiking options.
New subscriber Vanman. Nice videos! Especially liked this Red River Gorge one. As a native Kentuckyian I've hiked Auxier ridge many, many times. Glad you enjoyed it. When I first hiked it 45 years ago we needed a rope to climb from Courthouse Rock up the ridge. Steps are sure easier!
Brian, thank you for sharing these incredible spaces; so different than the beautiful area I live in, and stunning in their lushness and a different geology than I usually see. You present the areas so well....and eat well too.....Thanks again
Hi Brian as always thanks for sharing your experience 😍one more year and I'll be living the Nomadic lifestyle without working I'm Retiring safe and happy travels brother 🤪😃🚐🌲🌵👍✌️♥️
My dad's family was from Paris, Bourbon County KY, near Lexington (in the 1800's). Migrated to California via Missouri and Idaho... I enjoyed your video of the beauty of that state! So peaceful!
My college roommate’s grandmother was from Ironton. I remember they pronounced it something like “aren’t-n”. Visited both Hocking Hills and RRG as a college student. Thanks for reminding me of these beautiful spaces. I’ll venture down that way again soon.
The Gorge is for sure a beautiful place. I camp there often. I Stay in a big city in KY and its good to get out there and be with nature. Stay safe on your travels.
What a great way to start my day. Another great video from the Van Man to watch, while I have my coffee. Thank you sir!
I totally agree!

Thanks for the beautiful view!
I live in Lexington and have been been to Red River Gorge many times it's different every time. Love my home state.
Great hike! So amazingly beautiful. Thx.
I just don't feel safe hiking alone😕
The sound of the water flowing is therapeutic with my cup of coffee this morning. 😁👍
That was a beautiful location with some great hikes. It’s a great place to visit and especially nice without the crowds in the campsites.
I live in Tennessee and have been to KY a few times,......beautiful forests and mountains!.....God bless you and stay safe and healthy!.....good to see you traveling again!
Kentucky has more miles of running stream water then any other state (except Alaska) Lots of pure water springs also.
Thanks for that fact/info. Didn’t know that.
For some reason I've been having the urge of wanting to live in /move to Kentucky

Thank you for the info. That’s so cool. When I was a child you could drink out of the river near me. Not anymore. At least it’s still beautiful.
Welcome to Ky it is a beautiful state, enjoy and safe travels🤗
