Incredible! I live in Knoxville Tennessee so happy to see their business up and running. I lost my job here in Knoxville due to the pandemic. Safe travels!
Is so cool to know that you was in this beautiful city Knoxville Tennessee a great lovely place im been here for 16 years and I love it God bless all guys be safe ❤ ♥ 😊
I gotta say you look so much happier and healthier then you did when you first started vlogging a few years ago. All that hiking, nature and natural food doing you well.
Brian - Indeed! It was a pleasure and a surprise meeting you and Kelly. As mentioned, I’ve been a subscriber for the past several years. You are definitely one of the most humble and down to Earth people I have met as your subscribers have said on occasion. We all enjoy your journeys around our great country. Thanks for the 3-Day Red River Gorge pass, sticker, and getting a photo with you. I am definitely interested in purchasing one of those T-Shirts, so looking forward to what you find out from Bob & Jenny. Very nice of them. By the way, you are always welcome to park your van and if Kelly is with you she as well can park her van too on my property outside of Charlotte. Thanks for all you do in sharing your vanlife lifestyle journey. Take care brother and Peace ✌️☮️
That’s not the same Rocky Top that the song was wrote about. That place used to be called lake city and they changed the name to get people to stop in. The real Rocky Top is close to Gatlinburg,TN. It’s actually a great hike you should check out to get on top of the real rocky top.
It was originally called Coal Creek. Once Norris Dam was built in the '40s, they changed their name to Lake City since the dam is within city limits. Then the real reason why they changed it to Rocky Top was some developer was going to build a coal mining-themed water park in the town, and so far that project has gone nowhere.
There was a lot of controversy about them changing their name to Rocky Top because it's not the actual location and it's the official song the Tennessee Vols use. Most of us still refer to it as Lake City.
We have soooo enjoyed your travels through OH, KY & TN. We live in Cincinnati & have spent many wonderful vacations in our camping van around here - mostly in KY. It's been fun watching someone else enjoy the KY landscape & beauty as much as we have. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
You and Kelly are so kind and gracious. Love seeing the tee shirt operation, I've never see the actual process of screen printing. So much goes into creating these products. Stay safe.
"Hats Off" to Bob & Jenny of Borderland Tees !!!! Good, kind people ..... :) :) :) And YES ... I would be interested in purchasing some T- shirts !!! But ONLY if they are printed here in the USA .... Be SAFE on the road !
I live like 20 minutes from knoxville. If you get the chance to go back through again, head to the Foothills parkway and even U.S. 129 Tail of the Dragon. Beautiful.
Thanks Jeff. I was just about to point that out. 2014 according to google. The song has been around for years. I heard from other musicians that the Osmond Brothers actually hated that song. But that’s okay. My Florida pals hate it even worse. Haha
I would love the chance to buy a t shirt from you Brian !! Thank you for awakening my and my wife’s wanderlust . We love your videos and your unending kindness to whoever you meet !!
The T-shirts look great! My husband and I enjoy your channel, watch all the new videos you post and go back in time to see old ones too. Watching an old one now!
It is called Lake City and it was changed to Rocky Top. I live about 3 miles away in Caryville. It was changed to get some much needed tourism traffic. But things got political and nothing has changed except the name.
Hi Brian! I am a fellow Adventurer and a Florida resident. I sent you an email with some tips for your stay in the Sunshine State. Thanks for sharing you life on the road us us! Happy Holidays! Tim W.
Nice of Bob and Jenny to print a few tee's for you and Kelly. I know your videos are a few days behind hope you didn't get caught in the big snow storm. Peace
Great video Brian!!! Love your videos and your approach on filming nature. I hope to do much of the same in regards to traveling and working seasonal type jobs. I'm 46, Army veteran and want to enjoy life more and explore our wonderful country and Canada. Better get started soon, lol. I'd be interested in a t-shirt and hoodie. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Such a great team at borderland tees. Thanks for the lovely video and taking us on the adventure. I would love a tee with your logo on front and "...away we go!" on the back.
Hi Brian, cargo trailer Terri here from Caravan 2. Nice to see you in my home town (Knoxville) especially since I live in Oregon now. That wasn't the real Rocky Top, btw... Many blessings and may you find abundant camping on private land!!
@@duane4972 Well, the song was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant in 1967. They lived near Gatlinburg (south of Knoxville next to the Great Smoky Mtns.) My son's father did carpentry work for them in the early 1980's. That run down little town north of Knoxville that Brian went thru was named Coal Creek until the 1930's but changed the name to Lake City to attract tourism from nearby Norris Lake. In 2014, Lake City changed it's name to Rocky Top because developers promised to build a theme park there. Unfortunately, the theme park never happened. I imagine the real Rocky Top is in the Smoky Mtns.
When I was in Florida a couple years ago , staying in the center was way less stressful and fairly easy to find boondocking and spending some nights at the state parks with some with a great trail system was amazing
Florida has become very hard to spend the winter in an rv for cheap. So many folks like yourself doing the same thing without the open spaces like the AZ desert. Forget the coast and SF in general and be prepared to either spend some money or go to N. Florida. Every person with an RV that doesn't want to be cold goes to FL n the winter. Good luck.
As soon as I saw the eggs I was gonna suggest spam & egg sandwich. Kelly is no girly girl on that bike! Sponge baths don't compare to a nice hot shower & electric hookup.I'm 63 so I remember when campgrounds were 5-8$ for a night.thanks ,now that damn rocky top song will be in my head all day!
The t-shirts looked fantastic with your logo and I agree with somebody else’s suggestion to do “Away we go”. It especially looks like the tees are good quality, I’m not crazy about those heavy scratchy tees.
Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee would make an ideal spot, has the room and facilities, no overnighting, but national forrest for disbursed camping just down the road from there. But by the time he gets to Florida I will be in Quartzite with everybody else.
I would buy a couple shirts , I hope there are plenty of people who also want them so it would be feasible to make them. Merry Christmas to y'all and all our nomad friends !!!
Great video Brian. Such a beautiful Campground that you were in. And you are right, those showers there are always incredible. I would definitely take it t-shirt One the same color and logo that you have on in this video. You guys please stay safe and healthy. I would love to see you as you come through Tennessee but I know you're on a busy schedule. You guys take care.
The water management companies all over Florida. My favorite site is in Inverness. Potts preserve ran by Southwest Florida water management district. You have to go to there website (or the management's across the state) and reserve your free site.
Cool places but you are on I-75 not I-79 . I drove trucks through there for 40 years and could not remember I-79 going that way or far South ! Other than that, love the videos, lol !
I’m pretty sure I saw your van parked at Walmart the other day and I so badly wanted to say hey and show my van but it was late at night. Anyways hope you’re having fun!
New subs here ! Hubby and I have been binge watching your channel and enjoy your adventures so much. We both would love to purchase a Tee shirt for me & a sweatshirt hoddie for hubby. Keep your videos coming ,never stop living your dream ! Until next time . Away we Goooo , love that at the end of your videos , Blessings from Kathy & David in South ,Tx
Damn Brian you must be following my family tree ha. You were an Hour from my Moms place in Ky, now you are only a matter of minutes from my Dads house in "Winfield TN". My Dads whole family is from Oneida. To bad you don't have 4x4 (Due to it being a rough trail in), because there is a massive amount of land owned by the state, you can camp on for free. Me and my family go every year four wheeling and camping there, it's literally right outside of Oneida. Maybe next time, safe travels friend!!
Love your videos. You show the America I know from when I was young. We used to have a RV over there and would travel the west coast in the summer holidays so your videos just bring back so many memories. Hope you have a great Xmas
Hi. I’m definitely interested in a tee shirt with your logo. I like the white one with black trim. Please keep me in mind. 👍 If you and Kelly are planning to come to south Florida I hear it’s nice to camp in Everglades National Park in the winter. We live in Coral near Fort Myers on the Gulf side of Florida. Also, if you get to Fort Myers you may be very interested in seeing Manatee Park. It’s located in east Fort Myers near the power plant. Manatees and babies like to congregate there in winter months to be in the water that is made warm by the power plant. It’s a sight to see, for sure. Stay safe on your travels.
If you're going to Florida do it now because it's hell hot and humid in the summer. Kudos to those who live there. I would never make it. Tennessee summers are too humid for me. Other than that the weather here each season is perfect.
Incredible! I live in Knoxville Tennessee so happy to see their business up and running. I lost my job here in Knoxville due to the pandemic. Safe travels!
Bob and Jenny, wow! Awesome couple and crew. I am so humbled by people like them.
Is so cool to know that you was in this beautiful city Knoxville Tennessee a great lovely place im been here for 16 years and I love it God bless all guys be safe ❤ ♥ 😊
Love how the dude in the wheelchair zooms around like a badass. Very cool. I’d be interested in one of the long sleeve tops.
short sleeves please
That dude is Re-Bob. :-)

Thoroughly enjoyed the tee shirt company. Would love to see more businesses because they are the backbone of our society.
I totally AGREE !!!!!

I live like 20 minutes from knoxville. If you get the chance to go back through again, head to the Foothills parkway and even U.S. 129 Tail of the Dragon. Beautiful.
That was 75 south instead of 79. Rockytop was Lake City until they changed their name a few years ago.

I live in Knoxville. Tennessee is a beautiful state.
Yes, to a t-shirt, yes to the t-shirt shop owners opening their doors for you. Thanks.

If you're going to make your way around Chattanooga, check out Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls and the Incline Railway. Lots of fun and low cost
THANKS BRIAN FOR SHARING YOUR LIFE TRAVELS.
Spam & egg sandwiches are amazing. Good call.
Rocky Top song is about a mtn. by that name in the Smokies.
They renamed a town in Tennessee and called it Rocky Top a few years back. I don't remember the name of the town. But I think it is near Knoxville.
It is called Lake City and it was changed to Rocky Top. I live about 3 miles away in Caryville. It was changed to get some much needed tourism traffic. But things got political and nothing has changed except the name.
