What are the current restrictions on boat manufacturers? I sell bass boats but never heard about any regulations/restrictions regarding manufacturing boats? We’ve been sitting on a bunch of inventory that people can’t afford or get credit approvals for!?
I don't feel the boats that are priced under 35k are going to go down. The demand for them will be higher...since many people will have to settle for a lower price point. Currently there are some deals for people buying boats under 35k however that's typical of fall and Winter Pricing. Come boat show time Feb to April the new 2025's will have some package deals but will still be expensive
Damn!!! 80k!! Im good got a 96 201pro xl for 1200 owner said it's locked up but when I got it home she turns but keep blowing a fuse and compression seems ok too 90 all around.. havnt have time to get to it but she'll definitely be out on the water soon
Can you do a show where you talk about boats that fit in a garage for us that live in a HOA neighborhood, and you have to keep your boat in the garage. Thanks Love the show you do on Fridays. First thing I watch when I get back from lunch
Glad to see prices settling on manufacturing supplies and commodities in general. For boats specifically, electronics components, wire, fiberglass, resins, etc. went through the roof. A reduction in the price of labor will soon follow, helping it more.
I would love to see you talk about the skeeter I class and yamaha hpdi 250. Maybe even some tech tips, or show some services to do, if that doesn't take away from local shops. Thanks, very your content.
I came through Scottsboro, Al. in July and the dealer for Ranger offered me a Ranger 521R that had a $10,000.00 rebate. $5000.00 on a Ranger 520R. Wow. They can't get rid of them. They were so high. Ranger saw this so they gave this big rebate.
Just got a Basscat Cougar SP with the reflex floor, extra console, 18" wheels and other upgrades for 79,999...not long ago that was close to 100k...I just hate it for the people locked in those high price boats and have to eat it
Ive thought about getting a boat with no console electronics. Just a ghost TM with a 10" screen for spot lock and a phone mount for the console. I would like to see a boat with high quality bare bones necessities around $45k. Just a good hull, a direct mounted motor, and a good TM and livewell. I dont need speakers, fancy paint or a bajillion HP. None of that crap catches fish.
If you would do some tech tips on changing the annoys and how to replace a water pump. I do all my maintenance and those two I’m not sure about and more nervous about doing the water pump myself.
I hope they come down even more. They'll either have to cut production to increase supply and demand or drop prices more and keep producing the same. With what's happening with the economy boats are an even more a luxury item.
For the past 3+ years manufacturers have been crying about material prices being the reason for the increased boat costs. Well, material prices have not come down, nor have regulations been eased. So where did BassCat cut corners on that boat to offer it for that price? Or have they been gouging the hell out of us all along? Either way, the consumer gets screwed.
Glad that prices have started to come down. Electronics could come way down. Just bought a pair of Helix 12's at Bass Pro for 1500 each. Obviously, they can still make money at lower prices.
I work at bass pro. $1499 for a 12” helix is a GREAT price. The only way we make money on them at this price is by concessions by the manufacturer. We sell them very very close to cost to draw people in.
If it goes anything like the auto industry hold off a lil longer. Our bubble burst late 2022 and prices keep going down. Lots of ppl buried in their covid cars.
@donaldmartin4980 i have had it for 10 years. Want more room. Mine is for sale if you know anyone in FL on the Space Coast looking for aluminum boat. Asking $15k for it. Garage kept too
About time I’ve been looking at a skeeter zxr20 for a while now and 80k is way to much for a boat. I’ve bought new boats since the 70’s and prices didn’t rise this crazy over the majority of that time.
The question is what are they decontenting to get the lower pricing? It doesn’t mean quality will be less but you’ll get lower margin parts. For example plastic vs. metal catches, lower grade carpet, cheaper tires, etc. I’ve been in RV manufacturing for 30+ years and it’s the natural cycle of manufacturing…Keep the price point on the higher line models and introduce lower price point models and getting the lower price with obsolete material, excess inventory parts, discontinued parts, etc.
Try pricing a Vexus or Lund pro V boat loaded. Better have 100K to 120K. Ridiculous. Trolling motor a d electronics are 10K on a boat and the engine is 30K. Why should the engine and electronics be 1/3 the cost of the boat. Mercury seriously needs to lower the engine cost.
They'll go down but not by much, definitely less than the COVID days... Just buy what you can afford tbh. If you are good with tools, you can get electronics and install them yourself cheaper than what they charge you at the dealer.
That’s all gonna depend on the new tariffs. The aluminum builders around me are getting prepared for a price hike as soon as the tariffs are announced. It’s all gonna depend on what happens first of the year
Ive had my 2022 Xpress for sale for several months now. Its @10k less than a new one. Ive had 2 people interested but they are going to finance it and the interest rates for them have stopped the sale. I dont care if I sell it or not I just want my shop space back, I dont want to park it outside and I get tired of pulling it out every time I have Lathe work to do. Anyway FJBs economy
@@eagleclaw6 interest rates at 8% for boats are ridiculous. Outboard engines are way to expensive. Affording a 100K is unreal. You will pay $170k with 8% interest over 20 years.
@Team Marine Lots of ppl gonna be hurting like when the used car bubble burst in late '22 and prices started dropping. Still talking to ppl buried in their covid cars every day.
I would like to see the 17 and 18 foot bass boat return to what most fishermen use. 21 foot boats with 300 hp is a burden on the sport and the people that are paying the high price
…they chose to let Covid end and the prices for everything are starting to normalize, thus bringing boat prices down because materials are almost back to the same cost as pre covid. Did I pass the test?
A fully loaded bass boat shouldn't be more then 50 k. Same thing with trucks. A brand new 3/2 house shouldn't be over 200k. But it will never fall back to that
It’s not affordable at all, I hope folks would stop buying new boats. I wanted new recession so bad what even voted democrats. Still hope to see new recession as we had in 08-09.
Oh lord it would be waayyyy easier to sell out!!! Just think…a big fat check and an ice cold Pepsi on a beach! Until then I still gotta make silly internet videos for y’all! Hahaha
$76,000 is a deal hahahahahahahaah, please stop, zero sympathy for the boat manufactures. How about a lot lower. Just saw a left over new Ranger 518 pretty loaded with PRO XS 200 for $51,000, now thats more like it.
Trolling motors need to come way down for sure

That new eyra package they just released fully loaded out with poles, graphs, spot lock the works for 80k is the best out there hands down

It's called gouging and once they get to, they have a hard time dropping prices.
