Super video! Not a thing missing. Exciting and informative. Plenty of material to feed your own imagination. Enjoyed the complete video. Thanks for your artful efforts.
I always get a sticker from FWC every year and put it on my boat. That keep them from inspecting my boat Everytime i go out. Put it on your boat after the registration number
They can still board you, the sticker isn't a repellant. It just means you've been checked and you had everything at the time. If you're boarded again and anything else is amiss, you better believe they will recheck your safety equipment!
Such an epic fishing adventure! The enthusiasm and energy you bring to every catch is truly infectious. Keep slaying it out there! One more thing those fillets look great!
Awesome day on the water! Seeing your genuine reaction to your epic fishing day was fun to see. Definitely have to cook the yellowtail the same way again it was amazing!
I've never been saltwater/deep-sea fishing, but I've had a growing interest lately. Been watching videos to try and learn more. This is the first video I've watched that was longer than 10 to 15 minutes and the first I've watched from start to finish. Kept my interest the entire video and I learned so much. Thank you for your content. I have questions but am now going straight to your channel to watch more. St. Petersburg, Florida
@@MaritimeExpeditions That Mahi jump sequence was epic . Perfect camera angle for shot . I'd rather be lucky than good , but you did great . Tight Lines ...
What a great day Yellowtailing!! As if the Mutton wasn't a miracle in itself!! Way to go, brother! Thanks for taking me along! You didn't have time to get bored!
If you get a school of Mahi the first one you catch tie it to the boat and leave in the water. You'll catch everyone of them and the bulls usually out of the main school a bit. Just a tip for anyone who doesn't know 🤙
Typically I would but since I was by myself and wanted to definitely get that bigger sized one in I just focused on him. But that is definitely a good technique when you have some smaller dolphin on!
Fun video! We have caught keeper mahi several times while anchored in 50-65' yellowtailing over the reefs! Mostly in the late afternoon when we are getting ready to pack up. Still surprises us every time and beats having to chase them offshore. That FWC stop was perfect. It's how smooth they should all go and it went that way because you had everything ready to go and on hand. When people complain about the stops, it's because THEY were missing stuff or had resource violations and citations and cases take a while to write up. Totally avoidable if captains had it all together! They're protecting our resources and our backyard, I wish they had enough time to stop every boat, every day. On that note, I've seen your other videos and I want to point out your Key Largo (titled) videos. If you're already aware, maybe make your viewers aware that spearfishing in all of Key Largo is illegal. You have to be South of Rodriguez Key and 3NM out in order to spearfish. Anywhere between BNP and Rodriguez Key you have to be in 300 feet of water DEPTH. So only bluewater spearing is allowed in Key Largo. The 140+ square mile Key Largo Existing Management Area covers everything from the shore to 300' of water. So, be careful with your videos, what you title them and where you actually are when your say you're spearfishing in Key Largo. That's federal. People are arrested in the EMA constantly. Make sure to let your viewers know as well. Stay safe!
Thanks so much for watching and checking out other videos too! And I’ll definitely be more aware of that. We spear mostly out of taverneir and south. But our house is in key largo so I typically title the videos that way but I can see where that would be misleading. I appreciate the comment though!
what a tremendous video back in the 90s lived in naples used to make the trip to islamorada and spend 2 weeks fishing on a party boat twice a year it was called the caloosa we used sandballs exclusively one trip some front was coming the bite was hot since the per angler limit on yellowtail was10 the boat limit was high I brought home 27 yellowtail almost all flags and threw back lots of keepers that day it was the most fun fishing you can imagine the line rippin thru your hand flipping back the bail and boom, this video had my heart thumping like that day. what a day for you. thanks
Great video and epic day !! I noticed you tossed the anchor without a break away setup. On that style anchor you’ll lose it if snags rocks. Try tying it off from the back end of the anchor and zip tie the chain to the front eyelet. The zip ties will break away if it gets snagged on rocks and you can pull it out in the reverse direction.
Agreed! Definitely would have been the way to go. Didn’t have my zipties with me and wasn’t factoring that my trolling motor wouldn’t be able to hold me. I kinda just threw It in sand and hoped for the best 😂. But definitely will remember my zipties next trip! Thanks for watching!

The last time I fished the Everglades I was stopped 3x by 3 different agencies before noon! I basically spent the entire morning traveling to a fishing spot and then being questioned, searched and harassed for 6-hours! It absolutely ruined the day.
Man that’s unfortunate. They are doing tons of research out there so I can see that happening. Definitely can slow down an innocent day of fishing though! Sorry to hear that!

Sounds like your reel needs oil. I always keep a bottle in my tackle box. Was squeaking going for sand trout last weekend. Pulled it apart, a few drops, and no squeak. Course, I had three other rods ready to go, but it's my favorite reel.
@@markbaehne9389 Sure. You could do that. Or for $4.20 get 3 oils in one. Been using those in my reels for 30 years. No rust and works great. Used to be a lot cheaper, but hey...inflation... Also use it on my power tools.
Man, Florida has some beautiful looking fish! Dont get those kind of colors here in NE. Surprised your Minn Kota wasnt keeping up, must have some serious current there. I have a single battery Minn Kota and have never had a situation that it hasn't out performed. Maybe a 5-10 foot drift during heavy winds and current, but as soon as it gets a second break, im right back on target. Thank you! And yea it’s just a thrust issue with the 24 volt system and only an 80 lb thrust motor. Just wasn’t enough to keep up with the heavy current. But agreed the trolling motors nowadays are a must have
Pretty work bro!!Was fishing the patch reefs west of Key West near Western Dry Rocks and had a 40lb Bull and two teener Cows in 9ft of water it was a trip and of course we were bugging out and the customers were lookung at me like whats the big deal 😂😂 Dolphin inside the reef is a trip!!!So a little hack for measuring for legal Yellowtails put them across the top of a 5 gallon bucket nose on the inside edge of the bucket and if his tail fits inside the bucket throw him back. @@MaritimeExpeditions its one of my fave Snapper recipes!! I fish for a living in the Keys and enjoyed your video, try adding some Menhaden oil to that chum its a game changer!!
@ it’s a really big cost going from 24 to 36. I’m really not feeling it right now now I don’t get to fish down in the ocean but 5 weeks or so a year. Mostly lakes with very little current, but I have noticed a big difference in the 31s interstate batterys
Some questions for you. Do you ever guide the public on your boat? I would be interested. What is your range for using your boat? Meaning is it only near Key Largo.
I do not have my captains license personally so I can’t guide anyone just yet. But many of my family members are charter captains and can definitely take you out for an amazing day of fishing like this if you are interested! My boat holds about 60 gallons so I can run around 80-100 Miles in a day so I can go all over luckily!
It’s a bit of a mix haha but the smaller setups were a star rod with a penn clash 4k or the bully bay rod with the shimano vanford 3k. And the bigger rod had a shimano thunnus
Thanks for watching! Just a little joke about how they were impressed with the mutton and probably wanted to take It home with them haha! Thanks for subscribing!
More of a recipe I just whipped up on the fly. But I go through It pretty step by step in the video. But if not I’d just go based off a francese recipe that you like!
Depends. This is an older one and they run a little bigger but this is an XL. But the newer shirts are a little smaller but they fit perfectly. I wear an XL in those too.
What to be hassled by law enforcement , buy a boat , and hit the water in Florida. Their is one lake near my home I don't even bother to go out on because of those stops . I got safety inspected 4 times in one month , the 5th stop he recognized me , and turned in the other direction. Can't even enjoy a whole day , without that hassle.
That’s unfortunate. They should have given you a decal the first time if you had everything together so they didn’t need to inspect you again for a while. Not sure if that’s only for saltwater or what?
Love the enthusiasm. Also like you how you effortlessly explain what you are attempting to do to change fishing into catching!
Thanks so much I really appreciate that! Thank you for watching!

1. You should flour first, then egg wash, then flour again, or breadcrumbs, cracker crumbs, or corn flake crumbs. 2. Two lemons is too much. Less is more. 3. You’re crowding the pan. Only cook a couple at a time. That’s why they aren’t browning because you’re boiling breaded fish in lemon juice and wine. The cold fish is bringing down the temperature inside the pan. Either poach them skinless that way, or fry them in butter and seasoning to make them crispy. Then deglaze the pan with wine and lemon juice to make the sauce. You’re welcome 😉

question what is Boater's license
It’s like a drivers license but for operating a boat. Just basic boaters safety course and you get a boaters safety id
@@MaritimeExpeditions cool just making sure it's not something new they always changing things 👍🏼
Nice video, bro, wish I was there with you!
Thank you!
I have the 24v to and had to change to a better battery and it works so much better
Yea I’m really considering It. Its great for inshore but just can’t keep up offhsore
@ it’s a really big cost going from 24 to 36. I’m really not feeling it right now now I don’t get to fish down in the ocean but 5 weeks or so a year. Mostly lakes with very little current, but I have noticed a big difference in the 31s interstate batterys
True. We primarily use ours ocean side but I too don’t want to spend the money currently😂
My boat holds about 60 gallons so I can run around 80-100
Miles in a day so I can go all over luckily!
Awesome vid! Got a new sub!
Thank you!!
I would give anything to have a day like that !😂
It really was a day of a lifetime!
What dreams are made for. What a day.
It was incredible! Thanks for watching!
What setups are you using for the spinning rods ?
It’s a bit of a mix haha but the smaller setups were a star rod with a penn clash 4k or the bully bay rod with the shimano vanford 3k. And the bigger rod had a shimano thunnus
That's called a hell of day of fishing
That’s what I’m talking about!! I agree!
Any day fishing is a hell of a day 👍
First video I've watched. Loved it all except for the misleading title. I subbed for sure.
Thanks for watching! Just a little joke about how they were impressed with the mutton and probably wanted to take It home with them haha! Thanks for subscribing!
Let us know your gps coordinates, fwc sure marked the spot😂 looked like you had a blast. Heck of a video and very fun to watch you slamming the fish.
Haha they probably did! Thank you, It was such an epic day on the water!
Sick video bud. I have my 2300 HPS in service and I’m itching to go back out 🔥
Thank you! They are amazing boats! Tight lines man!
Is there a full recipe for the delicious looking meal you had at the end ?
More of a recipe I just whipped up on the fly. But I go through It pretty step by step in the video. But if not I’d just go based off a francese recipe that you like!
Bro what size avail shirt do you have on? I'm built similar and have no idea what size to order.
Depends. This is an older one and they run a little bigger but this is an XL. But the newer shirts are a little smaller but they fit perfectly. I wear an XL in those too.
I bet mahi collars are phenomenal. Everybody throws them away tho.
I love some good collars but I’ve never had mahi! I’ve gotta try that out!
Great day on the water!!
Insane!!
Nice job on the fishing. I really enjoyed your vidieo. May I ask what Key you went out of?
Thanks so much! And I was out of key largo!
Some questions for you. Do you ever guide the public on your boat? Do you marina your boat or trailer it?
Have any firearms onboard? So what happens if he does? Curious because this is Florida.
To my understanding there would be no issue as long as is properly owned, stowed and safely kept. You are allowed to carry while fishing and hunting.
Get a finer hole like laundry bag from the dollar store that would fit your chum box that would help release it slower from your chum bag
Not a bad idea! I do want It to flow out quickly when I do get to the right spot though. That’s why I have the big holed net.
@MaritimeExpeditions all you would have to do is open the drawstring on the smaller holed net. Best of both worlds...
ugh....fn love fish, only thing i would have done diffrent is i wpould have cooked the MAHI. hands down favorite fish next to perch or walleye
Easily could have! Ever had fresh yellowtail though? Also hard to beat! We had the mahi the next night though and It was amazing!
