Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia

This is really a relief for me. I've been in BJJ training for about 7 months now, and I always struggle with mount and side control.
This is amazing.
Favorite channel, started watching when I was brand new now I’m a year in . Thanks for the tips 🔥
Have a look at Johny jitsu also great channel very underrated and very well explained videos
Tom is amazing - also the first one I was following when I was new.
I really like these tricky options. I'm a black belt and still learn new stuff all the time! 1st one is really intriguing!
Easily my favorite way to learn bbj on UA-cam ... Just has a way of teaching that I really understand
I've seen you teach this in another lesson. I tried it and it worked great. Thanks!
The quality of these videos not only from a technique but aesthetic is fantastic! Sound quality and camera angles are on point. Thanks for providing these!
🙏👍
Top shelf content! I love the triangle from bottom side control I hit it all the time. But I've never seen that setup from guard 😎
That submission from guard was mind blowing!!
Great sense of humor, man. Thanks for the content.
This definitely helped me against "Big Larry." OSS!
Bruh I remember when this channel had like 1k subscribers, crazy, have learned great basics from your channel, also great detail for 1st escape reminds me the angle make when pushing. You push more over your up n over your head. instead of away from your chest like a bench press
Legend!
Coach: “What are you gonna do? Stay here and feel sorry for yourself?”
Me: “Yes, yes I usually do” 😔🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you
I’m definitely goin to try out the worst guard ever next class.
I learned these from Carlos Machado
When you loop the lapel over the foot you can triangle your leg over the top of that foot and get a real good bite on the lapel. Freeing up the hand.
Great video, thank you!!
I'm a white belt 6 classes in..this is golf for me, 😊
Love your videos they’ve helped me so much thank you👍
Glad you like them!
6:54 Never thought of an armbar as an act of mercy, but yeah, good call Coach Tom. heheheh
"90% of ppl watching this tutorial are white or blue belts". me 6 months into a purple belt - 😅
Escapes can always be improved! Gives us more freedom to attack
I had to watch this 10 times and I'm a brown belt in judo and a 4 stripe blue
In the lucky 10%
Nice
It's like the bump up defend when they got top guard on you and you completely lift them with your hips off of you IF they're not grapevining you
When i was a white belt that triangle from underneath was my gold move, i even summited blue belts and they got really pissed XD. PS you also can do americana with your feet from the same position, just be gentle with the force..
What kind of knot does the blue belt have, I’ve never seen that before. Looks cool.
Am I the only one who laughed when Professor Tom said "I don't want to squeeze some guys head into my groin..." and James just gave this "Meh..." shrug lol
🤣
People always look at me with confusion when im clamping down in bottom side control 😂
Awsome content as always.
I find as a white belt I get stuck with my partner in side control a lot and i am almost just waiting for them to try a sub or try to advance so that i can make a move, especially if they have strong top pressure.
Any tips for when they are in side control, and when i go to shrimp and frame away i seem to always get them do the 'knee on belly' to flatten me back out, or worse the full knee ride. What is the best way to either avoid the knee on belly or to atleast stop it happening so often?
Are you going to be doing a lapel series by chance? Squid/Worm/Galaxy/Lapel chokes/etc
Maybe (-:
Are there any situations that make grabbing the gi not high percentage? If so what areas/situations are they? I'm straight from the no gi world
I like this technique but are you not concerned with feeding intimate an Arm bar?
Tried it last night got smoked grabbing wrong side .. damn … go again 😂
I was taught to never put your arm in between their legs for that exact reason.
If you are goin to cradle someone, need to grab the other leg.
Is this the BJJ Steve Irwin?
🤣💪
Am I the only one that thinks the partner looks like Steve Carell with a beard?
