    Dr. William Davis, your book is changing my life. I have been sick after every meal since I was 12-13 years of age. I am 33 and cannot believe how sick I've been with no understanding from the medical community and now your book is changing my life. I've given up wheat for 10 days and I feel better than EVER!!! I am not sick after any meals, I'm not having inflammation in my joints, I've lost 6 pounds in the last 6 days... my energy is amazing and I could not feel more terrific!!! I applaud you for your work and I cannot tell you how relieved my body is to know and to TRULY discover it was and IS the WHEAT!!! Bless you!!

    This changed my life. Every single item went back to normal in two weeks time. In one years time I lost 90 pounds. I'm still losing, but what a difference. I'm never going back. Blood, cholesterol, and sugar levels are at the perfect scores. Buy the book and just do it.

    Even with a disciplined 18/6 daily intermittent fasting + hot yoga & weight training 3 times a week and abstaining from all alcohol, I still hit a weight loss plateau. Culprit was, you guessed it! GRAINS. Cut out all gluten (bread, pasta, rice, sweets) but kept potatoes in my diet to hit my carb macros. 5 weeks later, I was down to 12% body fat from 16%. My stomach was flat, no bloat and the psoriasis and eczema I had suffered from cleared up. When I see wheat now, I see toxic junk.

    I gave up wheat (and carbs & sugar) almost 3 weeks ago...and my blood sugar has gone down, my blood pressure is within a normal range,I have lost about 5 pounds and am still losing, my acid reflux is gone, my gallbladder issues are gone. My appetite has decreased, my sinuses are much better, I have more energy, and I feel better. I just can't believe it...all those years of eating wheat...and such a quick turn around in only a few weeks. What Dr. Davis says is 100% true...my results are proof!

    the food issue makes sense. my parents didn't feed us that stuff growing up , so at my first sleepover as a teenager I had a slice on pizza and a brownie (things I had not had before). I became so ill that my mother had to come pick me up. Embarrassing, when my friends found out it was due to half a slice of pizza and a brownie.

    I hate to say this, but it seems like all the "advice" we've gotten about how to be fit and healthy is wrong either by honest mistake or deception. I mean..."don't eat fat...eat lots of grains....stay out of the sun....don't eat salt....eat vegetable oils..."
    I MEAN! What are they trying to do to us??

      Grains stimulate hunger, continual spending on snack foods, and spending on medical treatments to mask symptoms of consuming grain. Big Tobacco joined Big Snacks years ago to keep people addicted to snack foods. Follow the billions.

    There seems to be plenty of reasons for dropping wheat altogether from the diet.

    I read/listened to Wheat Belly as an audiobook. I'm not sure if it was the weaning off of wheat alone -- I also gave up fruit juice, soy and sugar -- but I unexpectedly and happily lost over 40 lbs. It's been at least a year now and I'm still slim. I also had some joint pain in my hands that went away. It makes me think of all the guilt we've carried around -- not to mention the "gurus" we all know who constantly tell you you're too fat for your age etc. -- regarding weight issues which might have been so totally undeserved.

    • @darkanser
      @darkanser 11 років тому +4

      It seemed that fruit juice -- with all the fibre eliminated and often with sugar added -- made me gain weight. It appears wiser to consume the whole fruit. This probably doesn't apply to juiced fruits provided the fibre isn't thrown away. Some whole fruits actually have a lot of sugar, i.e. mangoes, bananas, papayas and a lot of other tropical fruits. I still eat those, however.

    • @darkanser

      There seemingly has been an explosion of new or re-introduced health strategies these days. As I mentioned in the beginning of this string, I highly recommend Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis ( above). There's also Grain Brain by Dr. Perlmutter. Another is the Virgin Diet ( or Drop 7 Foods) by JJ Virgin. I've been reading a book on the Paleo diet and I'm exploring the Ketogenic/Intermittent Fasting eating plan. There's a lot of information here on UA-cam for starters.

      Fruit juice contains ALOT of sugar that is not wrapped around fiber (which slows down the digestion process).

    • @darkanser
      @darkanser 10 років тому

      Jim Steimle I think more specifically, it slows down the absorption of sugar and/or the stimulation of insulin. Fibre also has other health benefits from your intestinal flora.

      ***** juice spikes blood sugar and it is another food we were sold as healthy that is not healthy and should be consumed in very small limited quantaties if at all.

    I started the Wheat Belly diet about 7 weeks ago and in the first four weeks, I lost 15 pounds and dropped four sizes. In the three weeks since then, I've dropped two more sizes. Do I believe the diet works? I dropped from a size 14 to a size 8 in less than two months with no side effects, except feeling wonderful everyday and fitting into clothes I haven't worn in years. You bet it works.

    I am horrified and fascinated by everything you are talking about. I saw you on Dr. Oz and wanted to learn more. I started that 21 Day Flat Belly diet and haven't seen much difference in belly measurement but did feel better. Now after watching your video I am absolutely committed to being gluten free. Plus on Dr. Oz you said not to eat the "gluten free" foods like waffles, cake mixes, etc. that substitute potato starch & other stuff which I didn't know so I was eating that. I'm on the waiting list at the library to get your 30 min. meals cookbook.

    For all of those people who are not informed about the vast possibilities of healthy whole non-processed foods - even for our children - get informed. The information is out there, just google Keto Recipes (low carb - my personal favorite) or Paleo or Ancestrial Food recipes. We‘re talking about beautiful cassoroles with egg, vegetables, cream, cheese, meat. Mixed Salads (as many diff. colorful fresh crunchy veggies) with tuna or chicken and/or fresh crumbled bacon and some parmesan cheese. Or like Dr. Davis said there are so many recipes out there with grain free bread (using almond or coconut flours) and pizza dough using other alternatives. There‘s the Chaffle (cheese & egg waffle) you can make savory or sweet. And always include lots if fresh veggies raw and cooked in all of your meals!! The possibilities are endless my dears! Just drop all of the sugar and processed foods, easy peasy! Don‘t forget sugar drinks and fruit juices are all full of fructose and sucrose! Limited berries & granny smith apples allowed. Dark chocolate (no sugar) is also very healthy. Drink lots of purified still mineral water and green tea everyday. And teach your kids what real food is! Check out youtube channels like: Keto connect, Keto in the Country, Dr. Berg, Dr. Axe, Diet Doctor.com, Pick Up Limes, Downshiftology .... just search and you will find it. Bon apetite 😋

      It’s so weird. I have grown up in the area which produces the most wheat in my home country. Never had issues when I was little. Only got the problem after I came to US

    ok, so wheat is bad. I have known this for years and avoided it. But I think the author makes an erroneous conclusion that we should eliminate all grains.Ultimately he is promoting a low carb diet. Then at the end he says rice is the safest of all grains, (which I believe) but we should still avoid it. Tell that to the long lived thin chinese who eat it at every meal. It is their staple grain and they have avoided the cancers and heart disease of the west until they adopted the higher animal food consumtion of the west. How about the psuedograins like quinoa and wild rice that grow wild and are very health promoting. And why does he not tell you about how bad dairy is for the human body,many of the same diseases he mentioned linked to wheat are also linked to dairy consumption,even schizophrenia.

      The Asians are NOT eating processed white rice like we have in the U.S.. They also eat tons of vegetables and fish. In coastal areas they eat seaweeds too.

      He DOES mention that there are some problems related to dairy. Did you not watch the video? That is not the subject at hand. Smoking and cocaine are also bad, and he didn't mention those either.

      @Dean Bush Raw dairy is not beneficial. Far too risky. People die of E coli and Salmonella from that all the time.
