Thank goodness for you two and others like yourselves sharing real, helpful advice. Following conventional medical advice lead to decades of merely getting sicker and sicker.

In Europe the Bread doesn't upset a stomach so says everyone. I had the pasta there and seemed so much healthier. Isn't it the Spray the fill ours with?
It’s actually the wheat and what they HAVEN’T done to it. America’s wheat is frankenwheat; major GMO to produce more and has substantially higher gluten. Plus sprayed with tons of glyphosate (round up) Very bad for consumption.
In the UK around the time of the 2nd WW they started breeding (not the same as GMO) wheat so that it would be shorter & stronger to stand up to our weather so we could feed more people with limited agricultural land. The result of this is that the wheat has more gluten in it. Both my husband & I find that we can’t eat gluten containing products in the UK, but if we go to France, for example, the bread etc does not cause the same gut issues.
I purchased the book and did the gut health plan 2 months ago. I still make the yogurt and take the supplements suggested in the book. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I still suffer from constipation and have to take large amounts of magnesium just to have a bm and my hair is still falling out. 😢 The only improvement is better sleep, and my skin looks clearer and smoother.
I have been on the diet since 2020. It has been very beneficial but as the previous comment, I still suffer with constipation constipation. What can I do. I take the magnesium seltzer water.

I have read Super Gut. I bought his LR Superfood starter. Also, ordered Dr Mercola’s L Gasseri. Do I also need to purchase Bacillus Coagulans? If so, what brand is best?
Please ask Dr. Davis how are these types of flora in SIBO yogurt get through stomach acid while other probiotics do get killed by this acid? Maybe that is why the probiotics in Sibo yogurt don't live long enough in the gut as ones received from mother given to a baby?
The yogurt that he recommends making is fermented at a lower temperature for 36 hours. The bacteria doubles every four hours. The yogurt you buy in the grocery store is fermented for four hours. His yogurt has been tested and has 200 to 300. Billion due to fermenting time.
@@pamskaggs2788my question was about any probiotics including dr. Davis yogurt being taking orally by yogurt/ by capsule are easily killed by strong acid of stomach. Your answer doesn't address it
@@goldas.4624I think they're making the point, that when you have such a high number, then some get through the stomach acid. I think this question is very interesting and I wish I knew of studies that were conclusive.
Raw milk contains lots of different bacteria. Milk needs to be pastures so that l reuteri bacteria will be the one we will focus to grow. If there is other bacteria in the milk then there will be competition and l reuteri will struggle. Extra Fat is not needed. You can use just normal milk.
Clearly, this woman does not really want to hear what he has to say… She does not agree with him and she is fighting the point as soon as she says the word but or however… That means everything that you said before then is bullshit and I’m not listening. I will not be listening to this woman anymore at all.
I think he's arguing that you need the right bacteria to outcompete the wrong bacteria. Because there are strains that live in the small intestine without causing any problems.
@smoath OK. Well, I'm dealing with swollen gut, no matter what I eat. (And we eat very healthy) I get constipated, but it feels like something sweets up, and squeezes shut the pathway to release or something. This really sucks. No answers. Spent thousands for nothing!
@smoath yes. Yes it is. I got put on antibiotics for it, and I went to restroom every morning. It was such a relief. Then he pulled me early, (so now they wouldn't work if I got back on them) and put me on an antihistamine probiotic, and an enzyme, that makes it so much worse. Idk what to do here.
@@adamwhitfield5571 hey, I was watching Dr Sarah myhill, have you seen her videos or interviews? She talks a lot about bacterial overgrowth in the intestines. She says that things like vitamin C are very antimicrobial, and can suppress microbial overgrowth. Anyway I tried it and I feel much better, obviously I don't know if it's what you need but it's worth mentioning. I used the vitamin tablets that dissolve in water, the 1000mg ones. One day I actually drank about 6 of them during the day which might be a bit crazy but I felt better. Anyway you can see all her content online and she explains that and much more. She also says iodine is good for suppressing bacterial overgrowth, but it should be taken separately from the vitamin C because they cancel each other out if taken at the same time. So leave a few hours between them. I'm not sure if any of this is helpful for you but I remembered our conversation and thought I should at least share.
Steak, chicken, fish, lamb, bison, etc. Meat from animals provide sufficient calories. Eliminate grains, sugars, and carbs if you want to optimize your health and wellbeing.
See this is the thing, grains have been used for thousands of years. Even the Bible the Jews made flat bread and it's mentioned everywhere the word bread. So if grains are bad why were they being used for so long? I honestly think it's the processing and making of bread and the chemicals they put in the farms. Maybe we should not eat as many of them of course but is it really bad to eat proper bread? Also maybe some sort of grains are good but others not so much.
Probably a combination of several factors, but the wheat we have now is far different than then. It has a much better yield per acre now, so it's " better". ..
Dr Davis talks about the modern corporate farms that put chemicals on the crops. Roundup/glyphosate is in all grains. It speeds up the the process of drying the grain so the farms are more efficient. Glyphosate has been banned in the EU. But good old America puts corporate farming ahead of health.
@maureenmannion6748 not just the chemicals. It's totally different. It used to be 3 ft tall. Now half the height with huge seed pods. The tall thin varieties can't carry the weight. This was done in the late 60s. But you are right about the dang chemicals for sure.
I've had a food intolerance for over forty years and have done all I possibly can to alter the situation. I've been a carnivore because I have to be. This was by suggestion of an immunologist. There’s lots of help out there that makes it super easy. Happy Fermenting!😊
@@britneymoe7614are you in good health? I think a lot of veggies of different kinds feed the microbiome. I have been having gut problems since I had food poisoning from eating out and it has been a year that I’m still not ok so I have been trying to get my gut right. I discovered that yogurt and kefir is not what the bottle says. The only one that has some good real bacteria is lifeway. But the one that Dr. Davis suggests is the one you put the right bacteria and it multiplies in the millions if not more and that heals your gut. I don’t have time sometimes to make it but I am trying for a few months and I will see how it goes. It’s time consuming because I live in a place where I have to drive a long way to get the milk.
Seriously? People celebrate with steak. Make it an occasion because its so good. I eat it everyday. Why is that boring? Its delicious and my body thanks me. 0 gas. 0 inflamation. 0 bloat. Perfect poops. Its what we were meant to eat. @notaras1985
It is very effective, it allowed me to keep me alive without any deficiencies but it didn't fix me, if I eat only meat I don't have that many symptoms but I still haven't fixed my gut permeability. I will probably will be meat based once I manage to fix my gut but the idea is to tolerate the rest of the foods without a reaction.
Microbes are part of the body though. If they've been disrupted by something like antibiotic treatment, then we might need help getting them back. There are studies that show people who live on farms have different microbiomes to other people. Perhaps our sanitization and disconnect with nature means we're not getting the contact with microbes that we need. I'm not saying any of this to prove a point, I'm just saying maybe they could be explanations why we might need something.

Can we take hyularonic acid supplements then if we don’t want to eat brain and tongue?
I can’t bring myself to eat brain or tongue. Just not happening. 🤢
@@goolash9991unless it’s organic. I like Ezekiel sprouted wheat Bread. But I rarely eat it because of the carbs.
Are you making the yogurt out of milk? Is that what you’re letting said for 36 hours at temperature

Does this also combat sifo at the same time?
It helps. Get more info on what strains do what in his book. There are many more strains to try.
Have you tried working on your intestinal motility with ginger and artichokes extract?
I have been on the diet since 2020. It has been very beneficial but as the previous comment, I still suffer with constipation constipation. What can I do. I take the magnesium seltzer water.
Sometimes healing takes time.
You also have to eliminate grains, wheats, and refined sugars to prevent SIBO, while also repopulating your gut with the supplements.
You might want to explore possible fungal infection and/or parasitic infestation. Pam Bartha on UA-cam teaches on parasites. (She cured herself of MS 35 years ago.)

The problem is that the tablet has significantly less bacteria than what can be achieved in a tablespoon of the yogurt.

Does goats milk kefir work as well as the homemade yogurt?

Why can't I put the l reuteri in raw milk instead of half n half? Why half n half?
Raw milk contains lots of different bacteria. Milk needs to be pastures so that l reuteri bacteria will be the one we will focus to grow. If there is other bacteria in the milk then there will be competition and l reuteri will struggle. Extra Fat is not needed. You can use just normal milk.

Doesnt fiber and probiotics make sibo worse?
I think he's arguing that you need the right bacteria to outcompete the wrong bacteria. Because there are strains that live in the small intestine without causing any problems.
@smoath OK. Well, I'm dealing with swollen gut, no matter what I eat. (And we eat very healthy) I get constipated, but it feels like something sweets up, and squeezes shut the pathway to release or something. This really sucks. No answers. Spent thousands for nothing!
@@adamwhitfield5571 same here, gut problems all my life. Tried everything from veganism to carnivory. It's sure frustrating.

Yes. Some people take iodine specifically because it is antimicrobial. Vitamin C is the same.
Do you ever eat junk food or things that you like but aren’t the best choices for health ?
Are you perfect and always eat healthy only ?
@treborheminway3814 the wheat has changed in size due to chemical treatments so our bodies do not recognize the grain due to chemical changes.
@maureenmannion6748 not just the chemicals. It's totally different. It used to be 3 ft tall. Now half the height with huge seed pods. The tall thin varieties can't carry the weight. This was done in the late 60s. But you are right about the dang chemicals for sure.

I recommend his book too. I have been making the yogurt for 1 year it’s not hard.
His book has the recipes and instructions. If it’s new to you take your time. I marked my book up with pens and highlighters so I could re-read things I found interesting or new to me. I made recipes cards and even my 76 year old husband can make it. It is well worth the learning journey. My husband totally surprised me, he always said he didn’t like yogurt but he loves this, especially with some fresh berries. He has a website too for more information.
It’s super easy to make. And it really is delicious besides nutritious. I bought the book and then while I was waiting for my yogurt maker to arrive and my yogurt strains that I ordered to arrive. I watched UA-cam after UA-cam on how to make my yogurt. When everything I ordered arrived I went right to it and immediately put my yogurt on and 36 hours later I had my beautiful, delicious, nutritious thick and creamy yogurt. I love it! There’s lots of help out there that makes it super easy. Happy Fermenting!😊

I discovered that yogurt and kefir is not what the bottle says.
The only one that has some good real bacteria is lifeway.
But the one that Dr. Davis suggests is the one you put the right bacteria and it multiplies in the millions if not more and that heals your gut.

No it doesn't, not when you have a chronic illness. The body needs support.
