Gotta run quarter pitch .polesaw chain and bar on those things .couldn't go back to any other chain on it.0.43 stihl micro polesaw chain. 14 inch bar they don't sell one here or anywhere at least stihl brand .in 16 or would run that .monkey beaver has them but panther bars are not as strong as stihl 14 inch pole version s...I've noticed the new ones with the fancy paint job are not as good either. Stihl I mean .the old style sthil bars seem better .or I'm just crazy 🤪.

How's the 0.325LP chain such as Oregon Speedcut Nano? I think that is 80TXL. I'm running 3/8LP now which is nice only cause I can run the same chain as my Makita 36V top handle. But I think I'll try the Nano setup to see if it is smoother.

@@boomupengineering but I have stihl husky dealer 5 minutes away and the sthil pole saw bar and .043. Chains for it worl best .used them about 3 years .get 40 percent off All chains commercial discount. So best deal I've found .I do order some of the panther chains once in while .because they have regular rakers .but I don't run stock saws or very least I modifiy then the 2511t needs a 3/8 or bigger hole drilled threw the entire muffler to the back side plate .and blow it out .then remove the carb limiters. And put quarter pitch sthil polesaw bar 14 inch and chain on it .the day I did that and tuned it properly changed everything. I've used it to clear entire 5 acre lakefront properties. That and halfinch dacron rope with bigdan on it..that echo 2511t I use for everything even take docks down and out with it.its go to saw 60 to 70 percent of time until absolutely need my bigger saws wich is mainly for felling or bucking after removal of trees. Doing big oaks tommrow there from civil war Era. Been there long time.also in the bucket we use t540i husky it takes anything echo 2511t won't with ease .on 2 batteries we take entire large 80ft trees down as we will do early tommrow in Townsend..smokies mountain s is where I work and live...

It works beautifully. My go to .run 14 ...bar chain .stihl ..wouldn't go back to anything else older and injured all over knee back arm xctra....nothing beats the echo 2511t except t540i husky it's also lighter than my 201t. That rarely gets used.the husky and echo are best on the arm tendons

@@Sethhaun78 Yeah that t540i seems to run real good. I started with my Makita, and while it works, it's a cheap saw with a startup current limiter which is very irritating. Thus my 2511t. I'll soon order the 0.325LP chain to try, either Oregon or Husky. I don't think I can get a driver for the Makita but then it doesn't chatter like the lightweight 2511t. I'm between Kingston and Loudon so not too far away.

I think I'm getting motivated to buy a few 2511T cylinders and then have some fun with my two boys, 9 and 11. They like climbing trees thus far. I've got the pipe and tuning covered. I can mod the flywheel key and delete base gasket. Now we can play around a little with the cylinder. Is there any reason to mess with port timing or just keep it simple? I'm no engine guy. I worked for Artic Cat for a year but I never got into pipes and ports. Mostly did EFI testing.

You should try one modified. Out of the box, these 2511's are pitiful. I'll do a before and after next week. As a mechanic these saws are very well built. Hell, August ran one for a couple years exclusively. Never mind, what does he know.

Richard, have you ever done any performance mods to an Echo 355T? I’ve got a friend that likes his because “there’s no replacement for displacement” but we all know that there’s ALWAYS more to be gained with a “proper” massage of anything out there. Just waiting on your reply.🫥

I'll be honest, I've never properly ported a 355. Typically I'll just so a muffler mod and timing advance on them and they seem to perk up a good bit. I really like the 2511. It's a much better saw in both design and functionality.
