You know, for all the times Toei pumped out mediocre anime features throughout the late 60’s and early 70’s (30000 Miles Under the Sea, Go Get Them, 0011!, Flying Phantom Ship, The World of Hans Christian Andersen, Jack and the Witch, Arabian Nights: Adventures of Sinbad, etc.) it has made me wonder why they were never christened with the moniker of the Hanna-Barbera of Japan.

That's honestly a really good comparison! Toei had plenty of good ones, but you sure do have to dig through a mountain of mediocre stuff to find it.

I remember growing up with this. My parents recorded it straight from the tv, but it was in English and I've been looking for it for years!

Panda Go Panda is an adorable anime where I think an adult male panda and his son "adopt" or at least live with a human girl as she has to live on her own because reasons. Lion King and The Ugly Duckling vibes with this, but meh.
