Great video. I live here in Colorado and love it when foreigners have the ambition to come and really experience the beauty of the land instead of just walking around the ski town centers with a million other tourists.

Jonas M I recognized part of that as the rainbow trail at the top of Monarch pass. Great ride!! BTW here in Colorado...Elk are Elk and Moose are Moose...we have both

I think the confusion about the moose elk depends on where you are from :-)
From Wiki: "Alces alces is called a "moose" in North American English, but an "elk" in British English. That same word "elk" in North American English refers to a completely different species of deer, the Cervus canadensis, also called the wapiti"
This is not your everyday mountain biking video. It puts life in perspective and makes you appreciate whats really important in life. Getting out and enjoying God's amazing creation, spending time with family and friends, and doing something you love. Thanks for sharing very inspirational!

I've been a mountain biker for almost 25 years and every time I watch this it reminds me of why I love the sport so much. It's a great video to watch if you are a lover of outdoors and a MTB rider. You guys have made this one of my bucket rides I have to do before I die. Just love it guys great job!

I've watched this several times over the past 2 years and send it to others to try to get them excited to do it...no takers so I may have to do the whole thing on my own. I just rode Kenosha pass to Breckenridge today and it wasn't the most secluded portion but its nice.

Hi Guys - Just came across this video. Glad you all survived! Last we saw you, the chain had broken and you were having to push/carry one of the bikes up the last 40 miles to Durango.
Hi. Yeah, that was me. Thank for for the help and time you gave us! The rear derailleur was all gone, but I did manage to get set it up as a single speed, so we arrived in Durango on schedule :-)
This could be the best video ever made of biking the Colorado Trail. Also, I noticed that you guys packed everything on your back, which I think is by far a better option than all these guys you see that weigh the bike down with gear. Well done all the way around!

I much prefer this type of filming than gopro chest mount wich now I can barely watch, this requires more time, work, eye for scenery and framing.

I was trying to decide whether to do this or not this summer and your video made up my mind. I'm certainly going! Did you guys have issues with camera battery? Were you ever able to stop to charge up batteries or just bring extra?

I brought with me two batteries, and that was enough, charged them up whenever I had the chance. Maybe bring three or a small power charger if you use the camera a lot :-)

Hi. The new Nobby Nic tyre was the dominant tire on the trip. We used the Hilleberg Anjan 3, check out my gear list from the trip in the description :-)

You do not need permission, but you can not ride in the national parks :-/

We did this trip the last week of June and the first in July.
Its hard to say when its the best time to ride it, be careful not to do it to early, if its a snowy season, the passes may not be rideable until Juli.
