So funny to think as a 4 year old I got 2 guppies from a local fish shop with my grandpa and we ended up with a whole 20 gallon of guppies and ended up selling most of them back to the fish shop. Been into fish my whole life ever since! I love how much love he has for them.
We got 2 of my son’s class fish when he was in 4th grade. I volunteered to take them at the end of the year when the teacher sent out a notice. Next day he brought home a male and female guppy, I set them up in a ten gallon planted tank…they of course bred and had about ten babies…those babies grew up and some bred…We wound up with two ten gallon tanks to separate all the males from the females after 3 breeding cycles! I bet we had about 60 guppies. They were great fish though and I’m going to start a couple tanks up with them again. ❤

40 years ago, I kept selectively breeding gupies from the chain fish stores, and when I gave what I had away, they had beautiful, long tails, and gorgeous colors. This video is making me try to figure out the logistics of having guppies, off-grid, in AZ, USA. I so enjoy your videos, thank you!!
Amazing what he's been able to accomplish in such a short time, and with no auto water changers! I hope he takes you up on your offer to help him set it up, It would be life changing for him.
I just came from another guppy breeder video, the tanks were gross, the room itself looked like a hoarder’s room, the fish were “okay” at best. This is such a refreshing change, you can clearly see this guy really cares about his fish, clean tanks, excellent husbandry and Gorgeous fish!! 🐟

Wow! I’ve never been so intrigued by guppies - these are stunning! And you can really tell the care and passion he’s putting into them. Lovely collection. ❤
Guppies are one of my favorite fishes. I have several different types including the red koi. I have been observing guppies for years now. They have personalities and different energies. Some are outgoing, some not. I know they like to be in groups. The females like female company when birthing their babies. They like healthy plants for the birthing time. They like frequent feedings when pregnant and birthing. The koi females are voracious eaters and their young are often born larger. Sometimes the females will not breed if conditions are not right. Sometimes they will keep their babies inside longer before birthing them. Guppies just fascinate me. Mine can be picky eaters - they seem to not like the flake foods so much or maybe I just haven't found the right flake foods. They like tiny granules and frozen or live brine shrimp.😊
Guppies have definitely pulled me back in. I haven't kept fancies exclusively in a while. I've done a few of the endlers types here and there and have blue star poecilia currently. Some of these guppies are absolutely gorgeous! Might have to get a few tanks for some high end guppies!
I love seeing these videos when you are learning and experiencing new techniques and new strategies. The best UA-cam videos are always the ones where the UA-cam personality is really enjoying the moments as a hobbyist.
Got some guppies from him about 1 year ago, when his were still breeding them in 10litre plastic containers. Very nice guy to deal with and very informative. Highly recommended
KFS and Natt, This is one of your best videos yet. So educational and WOW, on the so entertaining. I'd have to say the blue and blk guppies that Natt said he didn't know what he was going to get... Second to the last fishs you guys looked at ... Were so pretty... Those babies alone makes me want to begin breeding guppies and that's something I never thought would come out of my mouth. Lol. But that was fun. Can't wait until you go back for a visit there. You guys have a great day and keep up the great inspiration! Thanks! Carmen

Awesome video, guppies are incredible 😊 my son's first fish was a pregnant Platy and she gave birth on camera last night and I had to upload it cause he ended up getting 20 baby fry lol
I recently started keeping fish, just two 10 gallons, one with a male half moon betta, mystery snail, and 6 otos, and the other with 12 celestial pearl danios and two blue mystery snails. I’ve been binging all of your fish room tours and I can’t wait til I have that many tanks! 😢
I have guppies and i use Otocinclus Catfish - Otto Cat for algae- just one in each tank. I don’t use bristlenose because of their high waste. I don’t feed the Otto - always watch their bellies to make sure they look rounded - I only clean my fronts of glass and leave the rest. I make sure there is enough light to create algae.
Nerite snails seem good for algae. Try 2 or 3 and move along once clean. Also great video. Clear close ups and a soft vibe. Nat is pretty passionate and has a nice nature.
regarding the fish rack, if he put the wood up on the short end it would be more rigid and sturdy then laying it down on its width, it does take up more room between the shelves, but you wouldn't get the sag on long runs with no support. definitely adding a support midway would also lessen the sag.
Could you do a video on a basic fish rack like max 8 to 12 small tanks. And how to efficienctly setup filtering, lighting and cleaning and feeding. Thanks.
I'm just wondering if this fellow noticed the sag on his shelves at 1:15:33 ? If not maybe someone ought to let him know before it's too late? 😅 Otherwise AMAZING video thank you so much for showing us this amazing collection!!!
I suppose these kinds of videos are super fish-geeky, but I really enjoy them. So thanks for that :) I really love the colors they are breeding into those guppy strains. I just wish they would select more to keep the colors, but keep the fin sizes reasonable. Not particularly aimed at Natt and I don't want to get into moralizing, but they do get crazy ... but I guess that's what the market demands ...
So epic! Well done! I'm in NZ and we can't import fish easily here, and can't get shrimp etc. Makes me want to move to Auz just so I can get cool fish haha
i started watching It like lets see a couple minutes! ended up watching it complete! very cool guppies im amazed! didnt know they were so crazy! and very good fish keeping tips and good video! he could use snails/duckweed etc for algae! but algae isnt bad either it would keep the water clean! i loved the ones he said pple dont care for! some albino pink or red! and the black ones are crazy!
Really lovely fish! & No way! I'm a newish breeder over in the states and I just got a pair of Singa Blue from Indonesia. They're STUNNING! But what really takes the cake (imo) are the Singa Blue Double Sword. I got mine from Gibran's mj9_fish. He does some really exciting work with swordtail and pintail type guppies, but all of his fish are lovely. (Not sponsored lol just excited about gups)
1:23:18 rename those beautiful red and white guppies as the Candy Cane strain and "reintroduce" them in the fall.. or your spring 😂 Christmas sells everything, I bet it could sell those too!
Those polar bears are really cool. Guppy’s are similar to Kio for show. Its the smaller way to go. Cool set up. Also anything over 10 tanks should be on a auto water change system. Save your self time. Money put in ahead to save time later. Cheers on this wonderful breeder 🎉 real cool dude. Is this a house or shed ?
In Sweden the most expensive guppy I’ve ever seen was priced at €12,00EUR á pair. And I just went to my local fishstore last week, and they had new koi string and it was €6,00EUR per fish. They aren’t that expensive here because it’s one of the most common species along with Molly, Tetra and Butterfly Cichlid or German Blue Ram Cichlid.
i use to breed these .when i did i had containers with a V with a slot at the bottom of it the babys would drop into that slot so they couldnt be eaten
If i was going to dedicate one or two tanks to guppies, what kind should i breed? I mostly do small egg scatterers and shrimp. Any small tetra is my favorite😂. My son has a mutt guppy tank and they reproduce like crazy. I take them to the lfs and trade for different colors for him ( i usually give them 4 or 5 for 1)... seem easy but imbreeding seems to be a big issue. How many generations is too many?
Great video and ooooooohhhh those bright blue ones! And ooookkkk the Koi! What does he do with the not perfect ones he points out in the unicorns - and presumably the others too? I hope they go off somewhere nice rather than as I have seen, be destroyed
I had 2 guppies in my beta tank and now I have 15 😂 only 1 fry survived the first batch and he has a beautiful yellow coming in, rhe new batch I have some half black ones, theyre 2 small to tell. The dad was a tuxedo and the mom was a sunburst or something or other.

I hope you keep doing these in-depth fish room tours of different breeders. Definitely my favorite of your videos that I look forward to.
