So funny to think as a 4 year old I got 2 guppies from a local fish shop with my grandpa and we ended up with a whole 20 gallon of guppies and ended up selling most of them back to the fish shop. Been into fish my whole life ever since! I love how much love he has for them.
We got 2 of my son’s class fish when he was in 4th grade. I volunteered to take them at the end of the year when the teacher sent out a notice. Next day he brought home a male and female guppy, I set them up in a ten gallon planted tank…they of course bred and had about ten babies…those babies grew up and some bred…We wound up with two ten gallon tanks to separate all the males from the females after 3 breeding cycles! I bet we had about 60 guppies. They were great fish though and I’m going to start a couple tanks up with them again. ❤

40 years ago, I kept selectively breeding gupies from the chain fish stores, and when I gave what I had away, they had beautiful, long tails, and gorgeous colors. This video is making me try to figure out the logistics of having guppies, off-grid, in AZ, USA. I so enjoy your videos, thank you!!
I just came from another guppy breeder video, the tanks were gross, the room itself looked like a hoarder’s room, the fish were “okay” at best. This is such a refreshing change, you can clearly see this guy really cares about his fish, clean tanks, excellent husbandry and Gorgeous fish!! 🐟
I just came from another youtube comment. The words were gross, the ideas presented looked like those of a child, and the grammar was "mediocre" at best. This is such a refreshing comment! You can clearly tell this youtube commenter wipes his butt and drinks the kool-aid! Excellent commenting, you should be submitted to the "greatest youtube comments of all time".
Amazing what he's been able to accomplish in such a short time, and with no auto water changers! I hope he takes you up on your offer to help him set it up, It would be life changing for him.
Guppies are one of my favorite fishes. I have several different types including the red koi. I have been observing guppies for years now. They have personalities and different energies. Some are outgoing, some not. I know they like to be in groups. The females like female company when birthing their babies. They like healthy plants for the birthing time. They like frequent feedings when pregnant and birthing. The koi females are voracious eaters and their young are often born larger. Sometimes the females will not breed if conditions are not right. Sometimes they will keep their babies inside longer before birthing them. Guppies just fascinate me. Mine can be picky eaters - they seem to not like the flake foods so much or maybe I just haven't found the right flake foods. They like tiny granules and frozen or live brine shrimp.😊
Wow! I’ve never been so intrigued by guppies - these are stunning! And you can really tell the care and passion he’s putting into them. Lovely collection. ❤
Got some guppies from him about 1 year ago, when his were still breeding them in 10litre plastic containers. Very nice guy to deal with and very informative. Highly recommended

I recently started keeping fish, just two 10 gallons, one with a male half moon betta, mystery snail, and 6 otos, and the other with 12 celestial pearl danios and two blue mystery snails. I’ve been binging all of your fish room tours and I can’t wait til I have that many tanks! 😢

Guppies have definitely pulled me back in. I haven't kept fancies exclusively in a while. I've done a few of the endlers types here and there and have blue star poecilia currently. Some of these guppies are absolutely gorgeous! Might have to get a few tanks for some high end guppies!
KFS and Natt, This is one of your best videos yet. So educational and WOW, on the so entertaining. I'd have to say the blue and blk guppies that Natt said he didn't know what he was going to get... Second to the last fishs you guys looked at ... Were so pretty... Those babies alone makes me want to begin breeding guppies and that's something I never thought would come out of my mouth. Lol. But that was fun. Can't wait until you go back for a visit there. You guys have a great day and keep up the great inspiration! Thanks! Carmen
I have guppies and i use Otocinclus Catfish - Otto Cat for algae- just one in each tank. I don’t use bristlenose because of their high waste. I don’t feed the Otto - always watch their bellies to make sure they look rounded - I only clean my fronts of glass and leave the rest. I make sure there is enough light to create algae.
regarding the fish rack, if he put the wood up on the short end it would be more rigid and sturdy then laying it down on its width, it does take up more room between the shelves, but you wouldn't get the sag on long runs with no support. definitely adding a support midway would also lessen the sag.
Awesome video, guppies are incredible 😊 my son's first fish was a pregnant Platy and she gave birth on camera last night and I had to upload it cause he ended up getting 20 baby fry lol
Nerite snails seem good for algae. Try 2 or 3 and move along once clean. Also great video. Clear close ups and a soft vibe. Nat is pretty passionate and has a nice nature.

So epic! Well done! I'm in NZ and we can't import fish easily here, and can't get shrimp etc. Makes me want to move to Auz just so I can get cool fish haha

Egg bound. Producing way more eggs than she has room for in her abdomen, and that presses against her swim bladder. It could be a death sentence since she'll only have less room as the babies develop inside her.

He does some really exciting work with swordtail and pintail type guppies, but all of his fish are lovely. (Not sponsored lol just excited about gups)
Intersting on not using dechlorinator. Does this work the same if your water have chloromines? I get a reading of ammonia in my tap water, which is treated with chloramine. I use API ammo lock due to this. I don't only have guppies so probably not the best thing for anything other than guppies I assume.
Curious about soemthing, I noticed some of these guppies have long fins(Gonopodium). Do they breed without issues? Seen videos about trimming these long fins for better breeding.
These ' ribbon ' strains produce both ribbon and standard fry but only the standard type will be able to breed. And no amount of trimming will allow the ribbon type to successfully breed.
Ive noticed that all the aussie fish room tours all have rimless aquariums. Most all the u.s. fish rooms do not.. reason being they are super expensive here in the u.s. are they cheap in australia?
