Luigi Mario from my understanding, the composer is cCanadian-Ukrainian and is part of the Ukrainian Catholic Church which, while retaining some vestiges of Orthodox theology and liturgy, is in full communion with the Holy See. Hence, in this divine liturgy, during the various litanies, they mention the supreme pontiff, the pope of Rome.

I assumed something like that was the story behind this. Although I am a Roman Catholic, I've been attending the Ukrainian Catholic Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom instead of going to my local Roman Catholic Churches because I don't like the way they have been offering the New Order Mass. As a result, I now love the "Ukies".

Luigi Mario I'm Anglican (ACNA) and am firmly in the Anglo-Catholic stream. I grew up Baptist, so I'm ever so slowly working my way apparently to Catholicism. Not quite ready to go full boar though. if I did convert, I'd be old school, pre-"spirit of VatII" Latin mass Catholic lol. I firmly believe the Catholic Church shouldn't try to be more protestant in order to attract us and make us feel welcome. Rome claims it has the fullness of the Truth of the Gospel of Christ. She should act like it.

I agree. I, myself, am a Traditionalist (which is why I am attracted to the Byzantine Rite). To be honest, most of the problems caused by the Second Vatican Council have been predicted and they will not be permanent, trust me. Our Lady doesn't lie. If I were you, I'd look into the Anglican Ordinariate (or Anglican Use). They have all the traditions of the Anglican church and the Faith of Catholicism. They are, in a way, similar to the Eastern Catholic Churches which have the Orthodox traditions and the Catholic Faith.

Roman, someone recently asked me where they could get a recording of Liturgy in either English or Ukrainian. I think this is the only English non-samojilka arrangement I've ever heard. I'm not sure if she's looking for something this heavily choral (i.e. couldn't possibly sing along) or if she wants something more familiar, but if I would send her 'your way', how could she purchase your recordings without having to go through itunes or online in any way, just in case? Thanks! CIX!
