The mmWave 5G antenna. There are different types of 5G networks. This specific model does not support mmWave since it does not have the antennas. At&t in the USA does not use mmWave but for example Verizon does, so if it were a verizon model, then those area's would have those mmWave antennas installed so it would work with Verizon's 5G network. All 5G networks are not made equal unfortunately but if you were to have a Phone which has the mmWave antennas installed then most likely that phone would work with other 5G networks as well since it would have both types of antennas. But if your phone model does not have the mmWave antennas, then it would work on all 5G networks except the ones which use mmWave technology. Hope this helps explain it.
@@PBKreviews but i had a Verizon Motorola one 5G and mine never did show that i had 5g service so i think this brand just basically lied abt having 5g 🤔😅
I'm glad this is still up. This is my second phone screen repair with this video in three years. Worked last time, works like a champ this time!! Very helpful. All I can say is if you are not mechanic minded, don't attempt this. Have the tools, and for Gods sake, have a clean area to work in. Thanks again.
A thin small one around the charger port yes and one around the sim tray but nothing for the headphone jack. Phone might take a minor splash but doubt it will survive being dunked into water.
Does this phone have a compass? I am used to seeing "magnetometer" under sensors but this phone's specs state "e-compass" and I've no idea what that is. I would need a regular compass for walking / map apps.
You previously replied with an amazon link to a replacement screen, but it doesn't say it's compatible with Moto One 5G (not ACE) Or am I reading that all wrong?
My battery not coming off as easy as yours. It's stuck quite well. I'm trying goooff liquid and soaking it but still looks like I'll have to bend the battery heavily to pry it out. I'm using heat too. Very frustrating.
Use isopropyl alcohol. You can find it here www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/iFixit-Adhesive-Remover/IF145-400?o=4 You can apply that around the sides of the battery, let it sit for 30 second or so and try gently prying it up and if needed add a few more drops and let it get under the battery so it eats away at the adhesive making it easier to pry off.

hello there, off topic.. I'm planning to buy realme 7 pro can i use my existing Nokia 5w charger instead of their 65watts power brick..as far as i know fast chargers degrades battery fast
Hard to say, looking for a unlocked version 5g phone that has mmWave 5g capability would be your best bet since that would not only work on most 5g networks but also on mmWave 5g networks also since it has the additional mmWave 5g antennas along side the standard ones.
Can this phone be repaired if it was dropped in water for a very short time. But didn't come back on or charge up after drying thoroughly. Ended up getting a new phone but this phone it was $1,200 and I think it needs a new battery or something?
Its possible. You would need to take it apart, disconnect the battery and dry out any water inside, brush off any corrosion on chips or connectors with a small brush like a tooth brush and see if it works or see what parts need replacing etc.
Well I'm sure there's no water in it this happened last year right after he got it. He didn't have it but a couple of days my grandson, he dropped it into the toilet accidentally for about a second and pulled it back out. But my daughter had insurance on it and got him another one. And he just threw this one back in his drawer. Now he's giving it to me and I'd like to see what I could do with it.
@@PBKreviews are you interested in something like this question mark if so let me know how we can get a hold of each other or talk or something please thank you sincerely Tim Weigel
might be due to the fact its using the 5G as well as processing for gaming and display being on, all cause heat so yep. If it was a game just on the phone with no internet requirement might be a little less heat
Thank you. The moto g 5g should be almost identical to this one if I am not mistaken. If I am able to find one for a good price I will look into doing it sometime in the future.
I explain how the screen needs to be removed in the video. Most screen replacements come with the midframe pre attached so you don't really need to pry the screen off the midframe. But if you get a replacement that is just the screen, it's explained that after you take apart the phone, all that is left is to heat up the screen and pry it off the midframe. I don't do that since I don't want to break a perfectly good and working screen.

What are the blue and black cables for that run down the side? Is the blue one a 5G antenna? What are they connected to?
They are antenna coaxial cables which connect the sub board antenna contacts with the main board for signal etc.
Does this phone have Rubber Rings around the Aux and Charging Port and around the Sim Slot for some unofficial water resistance

The european one without the macro ring light is having a compass. E compass means it's electronic so a chip which is well normal.

Hi Daniel, if you long-press on Mobile Data in Quick Settings, go to "preferred network type", this allows you to choose 3G/4G/5G on my phone :)
