Wow So many options and accessories. Thanks for the insight, Jesse! Godox has become my GoTo for all my flashes. I currently own the V1, the V860II and the AD200 Pro for my Canon R6. The R200 ring Flash is next on my list.
I have a serious red eye problem with this ring light and I don't know how to fix it. Do you have advice?
What is the inner diameter of this Godox R200 product?
is this ringlight powerful enough to create a true ringflash look with concentric eye lights and concentric shadows on the background, or would you need to step it up to the R1200?
To get really pronounced catchlights, you'll want to be quite close to your subject. At those distances, the R200 has more than enough juice. The R1200 is a nice option for someone who does a lot of HSS outdoors and wants quicker recycle times. But given the expense of the AD1200 Pro and its portable but not super portable battery pack, we think the R200 makes more sense for most users.
We would recommend the optional RFT-25S reflector if big and bold catchlights are what you are after. The extra size makes a difference!
I have a ad200 with r200 + xpro + nikon z8 and also have hss turn in my nikon z8 but for some reason the godox r200 is not willing to turn hss even I force it the high speed sync is not willing ti work for some reason. . Dose anyone has a solution to make the high speed sync to work
The XPro Controller requires a relatively recent firmware update to comply with the Z8 and Z9, so I would probably start there. If you want quick access to the update utilities and reference files, you can check out our page where we've consolidated all of Godox's firmware files:

Hi Robert,
Because you'll inevitably use a controller to operate this ring flash head, it's important to enable the modelling light from the controller rather than on the AD200/AD200 Pro body (your controller's modelling lamp setting can override whatever is set on the body). We have instructional videos for most of Godox's controllers as well if you need help locating your modelling light controls. You can also feel free to let me know which controller you are using, and I'll direct you to the right place.

@@RobertDCobb On the main screen of the original XPro, you should see "MOD" labelled under the right-most button beneath the display. This will toggle your modelling lamp on or off for all groups. Your modelling light mode and power setting need to be set on the strobe.

Great product but could use more power. Any chance to see this same product available for the 400 pro or 600 pro? Seems like this would be a simple update to the flashtube and power cable/connector. Would be great to be able to use the same accessories with either version so leaving the overall size the same as the R200.
We haven't heard any news of a more powerful model in the works. Godox does make a standalone 400Ws ring flash called the AR400. That product is starting to show its age, but we can still bring them in on a special order if you are ever interested.
The Godox AR400 Ringflash is great but it’s very heavy if you’re looking to use it on camera. It’s doable but a definite turnoff if you want to use it that way a lot. Where the R200 has it beat is twofold: it’s very lightweight and won’t have your hands screaming for mercy; and there several accessories for the R200 so you can shape the light and get different qualities of light.

Of course it supports HSS. Strobepro probably shouldn't have discarded that manual quite that fast. The AD200 has been out for years but this is newer - so the AD200 needs a firmware update to use all your features.

@@domenicoavizzano8841 Godox says it supports HSS so I'm taking them at their word. I'm getting one of these (which is why I'm watching R200 videos 🙂 ) and that was a question I had too.

@@bromsmo What's to update? As I said 6 months ago - it works fine. Your AD200 needs to be on firmware v1.5 (or later) which has been out for ~2 years now. No idea why @strobepro keeps repeating that HSS doesn't work.
Does high speed sync work?
Unfortunately, HSS does not function when the R200 is connected.
@strobepro is incorrect. HSS works fine - have it and use it. Press and hold the mode button while turning on the unit. That will tell you your firmware version. You need v1.5 for HSS w/R200

We're being hyperbolic, but the print is rather small.
This is not a complete guide at all, not a word about the settings, no examples of interaction with a real subject... And there is no most important information that this R200 attachment does not work on the Sony A93 in high-speed shooting mode above 1/750 up to 1/80000 . The frames turn out to be completely dark; for example, 1 out of 10 frames may accidentally fall into an impulse, which is not a pattern, but rather an accident. With standard nozzles, this problem is not observed in any of the modes.
ships with old firmware, cannot update with a mac - useless!
There is no firmware in the R200. If you're thinking about the AD200 Pro there is Mac compatible firmware. strobepro.com/pages/firmware-upgrade
Not a stand-alone product - literally useless compared to Riko400...
