Looolz yeahhh I was struggling for a bit but I wanted to do as much as I could on my own but gave up on some parts because I have noodle arms haha. Thank youuu! Took me long enough but I’m happy with it!
Thank youuu! It very weird for sure compared to the older Honda’s that I’m used to lolz. I wish I was a lil more thorough in showing installing the rear coilovers but I hope I explained it well enough.
I’m happy to hear that! Definitely not a fan of the rear suspension on these cars haha. & yeahhh I just hate wearing gloves but it may have been smart to this time, oh wellz! 😝
Fix the camber on the strut on the top they have camber on them first off but the back you can take out the part that sits at the top and the back will be even with front if not little lower but rides good 😊
My apologies, I’m trying to understand what you’re referring to. Would you mind elaborating on that? Also, I’m sorry I wasn’t more helpful for your situation. I realize I left out a lot in the video & if I could do it over again, I’d be much more informative.
Aww maaaan! Sorry about that.. I’m glad you found one though! That is krazy that you found the sale post & then found the car on UA-cam haha, krazy! I had someone else comment on one of my videos saying they had bought something from me off eBay & then they found my channel & realized it was from me! 😄
You should buy led bulb for your headlights and maybe add foglights if you dont have one. Clean the windshield inside several times. The bulb that it came with suck and if you drive on road without street lights, it is dark.
I agree with that 💯% Led bulbs is definitely something I wanted to do because it would help a lot. I already can’t see good at night even with my glasses so that doesn’t help lol. I did end up selling this car though.
I’m currently going back to stock suspension from maxspeeding rods cause they are garbage. Make sure you lube them up every so often because they get noisy af
I get comments just like this quite often, sadly! I didn’t have the car long enough to start hearing any noises but lot of people have experienced that. I would say the rear springs aren’t stiff enough & they were bouncy even after adjusting the preload and dampening.
You’re very right about that! I’m just stubborn & find working on cars with gloves on is annoying but I am going to start wearing them because I’m tired of cars beating me up lol!
@@BwahhTiffany ahaa i feel u thats true Sometimes without gloves is a better grip too. I apologize for the late reply. Unfortunately I haven’t really driven this car at all since the coilover install so I am unable to really say much about them. Rawrkee made a video on installing them on his 8th Gen & I think he daily drives his so maybe he could give you a better answer. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
Hey there! I actually sold the car but I will say the rear springs just aren’t stiff enough & it’s bouncy. Just needs stiffer springs back there. The front felt good. No other complaints. A lot of people say to lubricant all the moving parts as they will eventually start making noise. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful in answering your questions.
That’s awesome really! I didn’t know anyone who had them long enough to know how they’d do but it’s good to know they they have held up. I don’t blame you on getting better ones though. They’re good as a cheap temporary solution.
Haha you silly! 😸 Thanks a bunch! I’m happy to bring it back to life but I have learned that I’m not attached to this car like I am my ef’s! She may go up for sale soooon. 🙈
Question, how did you put the bushings in the struts (shock top bushings)? Because every-time I’ve try I don’t have enough space to screw the top nut behind the trunk.
Hello there! I would say overall they perform well but the rear spring rate is too low. They definitely need stiffer springs in the rear. The rear was still pretty bouncy after installing the coilovers. That’s the only issue I’ve found with them. Lots of people say to lubricant all the moving parts on them because they will eventually start getting really noisy but I ended up selling the car so I cannot speak for that.
Thank you for this video very educational and I’m glad you took the time and explained every step and showed the mistakes so others can learn , great video , doing mines tomarrow
I really appreciate that! I tried to be thorough in case it could help someone. I also left some install notes in the description that I forgot to mention in the video itself. I wish you the best of luck on your install & I hope everything goes smoothly! Or went smoothly. I realize my comment is a little late & you may have installed them already. My apologies!
U will need a set of adjustable camber kit to fix the tire angle issue, every time u lowering a vehicle. There’s no other way around it. Anyways, 8th gen forever! 👌
I recently picked up a 06 coupe that had the suspension swapped out. The back left tire is angled like the front you mentioned. I was hoping to see how they were installed to see what could have made it be angled so much. Keep up the videos.
Unfortunately, I sold this car shortly after installing them so I can’t say but I just installed another set of Maxpeedingrods coilovers on my CRX that won’t be getting sold so I’ll be able to see how they do. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more helpful :\
@@BwahhTiffany The rear coilovers started making a clunking sound a few days after use and it just gradually got louder. Later, the fronts started making a pop noise every time I turned the steering wheel. I managed to fix the fronts by adding oil on top of the coilovers and it eliminated the sound. I’ll have to tear apart the trunk to get to the rears which from what I read, either the middle nut needs to be tightened or the pillow ball needs greased. The ride is bad, every bump I hit knocks me in the air. These are just very cheaply made which is why the price is too good. If you’re on a budget then go for it, they’re better than nothing. Just read some of the reviews online and find what people say, wish I did before buying these.
@@NaeroK87 My apologies for the super late reply. I really do appreciate the feedback. I haven’t been able to drive my car much since the coilover install because I’m still working on getting it road worthy but just from driving around the block I have noticed the rear suspension sounds clunky over bumps & the rear shocks seam to be blown because I can push on the trunk of the car & make it bounce by hand. I have heard from watching other videos about components needing to be greased because they make noise and you just confirmed that, that is a known problem so I’m sure I’ll have to do that in the near future as well. If it wasn’t for my stock suspension being bent, I think I may have rather suck with stock as well. Thanks again for your input, it’s very helpful!
@@BwahhTiffany yeah, I did read online that you need to tear them apart and grease everything. Unless you’re planning on spending $1000+ I would just get regular shocks & struts. I wouldn’t want anyone to waste their money on these so I just had to comment on how awful these are.
Those are the most dangerous coilovers i have ever fitted to my car! They came off the same day! Company shouldnt be making suspension! Cheap chinese crap!
The stock suspension was completely blown but not only that, it was bent & unsafe to drive on so I think Maxpeedingrods was definitely an upgrade from what it had.

No, I did not. My exhaust was hanging because it didn’t reach the hangers lol.
@@BwahhTiffany cool thanks 😀
9:44 How many pounds weight do you think were saved upgrading to coilovers vs stock?
That’s a good question, I really wishes I had weighed them but the coilovers did feel pretty heavy also so it may not have been much.
