    I’ve had tein street basis coilovers for 3 years now. Going from 220whp all motor to 450whp turbo, and they are absolutely amazing. The car holds traction at 450whp, I know they’re doing their job. And they ride just alittle stiffer than stock.

    I went with BC coilovers with custom spring rates. Love them. I'm lowered 1" front and half inch in the rear. Not sure what other mods you have. But get a Progress 24mm rear sway bar and it's easy to swap the front calipers, rotors and pads for larger TSX parts.

    Ngl, the color really pops on those things. But I personally watched a lot of youtube reviews and almost everyone recommended against it. But on a budget, it gets the job done. Glad it worked out 👍

    I had a set of maxspeedingrods on my 2008 and within a year and a half they started making a shit ton of noise(ticking on bumps and squeaking when turning the wheel). I went back to stock after all that.

    Keep your HFP Suspension so you can swap it in when issues arise with these coilovers. You won't have to pay for, or wait for a new set to come in.

  • @Roobsrandomz
    @Roobsrandomz 3 роки тому +5

    They may not last 2 years, but they probably will be a "tighter" feel over the OE's that have miles on them. They might be bouncey too after awhile, give us feedback after 30-60 days.
    Note! It's accidentally cool ass angles when your little human helps you with recording haha. Like forreal. Great vid as always mang! Cheers Gerb

      If you dont drive the car you put these on as a daily then it would maybe be worth it. Though I daily my 8th gen civic and its rough on these Michigan roads man. I almost lose traction going over bumps sometimes because the car legitimately gets air.

      Racelands are average at best.. Decent though for a super Chinese/Taiwan budget coil.. I wouldnt use any of those coils ever though on my baby... Good suspension parts are so important.

      @McDzy 3 роки тому

      for 8th gen civic SI

    • @JonHop1
      @JonHop1 3 роки тому +1

      @@McDzy Depends on budget and what you are using them for man.. If you care about performance and a quality shock and spring, you are going to have to spend over $1K.. Suspension is an investment. A worthwhile one.. In the 800-1100 range BC's and Tien's are good options. Decent, relatively quality parts. Some of the higher end Taiwan-made Coils. They are good for a drop and okay performance.. After this, the next level up you really start to get into really good quality shocks/struts that are well made with good warranties and good customer service. A few I would highly recommend are Fortune Auto, AMR, Feal, and KW. KW is on the stiffer side tho.. AMR/Feal/FA are all totally customizable and are custom made in the US to your specification and ride needs. I recommend Fortune Auto, but Feal and AMR are fantastic as well. Top of the line street/race coilovers. You wont get better in that area.. And Im assuming you arent looking for 2k-5k suspension systems for track only use, but if you are, I can recommend some great circuit suspension systems for the 8th gen. Getting a custom Bilstein setup would be what I would choose personally.

      Yes to this. Had these coilovers on my EM2 it was eh. I wouldn’t cheap out suspension is a important part to the vehicle. Even matters Performance and handling wise. Id give these coilovers back and like my man above said go with racelands or at least something higher up.

      Those coils will never fell all that good sadly, BUT, I am glad to see my man Gerb doing these reviews. Not everyone can afford good suspension, so some people are forced to go with the Chinese/Taiwan stuff.. And its like a 50/50 gamble.. Whereas when you start going up the Chain with BC/D2, then go next level like KW/Fortune Auto/AMR, you really do get what you pay for in terms of product but also customer service and response. Like even going from BC to Fortune Auto for me was just NIGHT AND DAY!.. Pretty sure the lower rungs of BC coils are made in Taiwan as well sadly. I was tricked as I thought all BC's were JDM made.

      Nah Fortune Auto if he going up in the price range.. American Made and some of the best street coilovers money can buy. relatively affordable to for a hand assembled suspension piece made in the US.

      @@JonHop1 I was debating between Forturn Auto and BC.. Went with BC coils because fortune auto warranty doesn't cover daily driven cars 🥴

      @JonHop1 3 роки тому +1

      @@FrancisD umm, i hope you realize that is only in the verbage to protect themselves from the EPA. They will cover all warranty claims unless you yourself damage them by negligence.. But why you would be between BC and FA is kinda odd being that Feal and AMR are the same as FA but have lifetime warranties.. BC is a huge downgrade. BC can get away without that in their warranty language because they are Taiwan-based. FA is US based.
