My thoughts on 5-piece collection in 2 different retail price tiers, semi-affordable class (5k). -- Everyday piece: SARB033/035 vs. Omega Aqua Terra (new integrated rubber strap looks awesome) -- Dive watch / sport piece: Tudor BB58 vs. Rolex Submariner Date -- Dress/formal piece: Montblanc Star Legacy Auto 39mm vs. Cartier de Santos medium (would consider Grand Seiko SBGY003 close second) -- Chronograph: Omega Speedmaster vs. Rolex Daytona -- GMT: Grand Seiko Sport GMT SBGN005 vs. JLC Reverso Duo-face (would consider Rolex GMT-Master close 2nd). I would consider these two categories too, but for these the base-tier prices would be higher: -- Artisan/mastercraft piece*: Grand Seiko "Snowflake" SBGA211 vs. F.P.Journe Chronometre Bleu (would consider ALS 1815 up/down close 2nd) -- Gold piece (bling bling)*: Rolex Sky-Dweller Gold-bracelet (Dial is irrelevant) vs. Audemars Pigeut gold featured in this video. Of couse, I've gone and rattled off a bunch of watches in the end, but hey I think price tiers are a consideration for most of us. Hi, The five piece collection is my favourite sized collection. And I’m thinking a lot about five ultimate watches. But I do not want to make it too illusional and pick the rarest and most expansive watches. 1. My daily driver: Omega Seamster Aqua Terra, probably with the black dial. A watch that can do it all and might be even a perfect one watch collection, like the Rolex Explorer. 2. My sport/dive watch: It’s probably the most known watch in the world - the Submariner black dial. 3. My dress watch: It’s going to be a precious metal one. And at the moment I would go for a JLC Reverso. Technically the Reverso, originally made as a Polo watch, is not a real dress watch. But JLC does some awesome pieces in gold and with neat complications. And nowadays a dress watch doesn’t mean it has to be a two hander in platinum or gold. 4. The chronograph: Even so I’m not a big chrono fan, a collection without this kind of watch does miss something. I would go with the newest Omega Speedmaster Professional or the Zenith Chronomaster Original in 38mm with the El Primero movement. 5. My beater watch (kind of): What does stand more for a beater than a G-Shock? So, I’m going with a square G-Shock. Not a plastic one but my stainless steel model with its black aged IP treatment - the GMW-B5000V! Best regards, Claus
Daily/work: OP36 126000 silver dial with the yellow gold indices Leisure: Tudor BB58 black/gilt Formal: JLC Reverso classic duoface medium size on black alligator leather Vintage & chrono: Breitling Top Time 810 reverse panda on black calfskin leather Special piece: Breguet 5157 on a brown alligator leather
Hi, just found your channel, great content! My picks would be: 1. Smart-casual watch: Panerai PAM00610 Radiomir 2. Every-day toolwatch: Tudor BB58 (if and when they release the one you can actually buy in my neck of the woods) 3. For those in the know watch: Grand Seiko SBGR261 4. Artistic, just look and admire watch: Breguet Classique 5140BA enamel dial 5. Grail watch: A. @@watchcraft Hi again, yes, I mean when you are spending that much money on something that is non - essential in this day and age, it should be something that you really like, that makes you stand out and something you would like to "describe just you" to your beloved ones, once you are gone. That's my two cents, however I would like to add Blancpain Villeret, maybe in rose gold with engine-turned dial in black and Habring2 Felix, or even DoppelChrono as other interesting choices :) Cheers ;)
My perfect 5 piece collection would be: Panerai Luminor Marina PAM01048 - beater. If I need to choose one beater watch for life it has to be mechanical, that's why it's panerai (otherwise I would go for a G-SHOCK) PP Aquanaut 5157 in steel - sporty everyday piece Cartier Santos Medium in steel - small dressy everyday piece JLC Reverso Classic Medium Small Seconds in steel - a perfect dress watch + an option for the engraving VC 1921 Historiques American in pink gold - a nice gold dress watch. Every watch in this collection has non-round dial or case shape. I think it's a nice theme for the collection
Great way of viewing a collection! I have two sons so my list comes in twos. I have all but three of these watches in my current collection. And yes there are 13 watches on my list, but I wanted them to fit in the categories. 1. Daily beater * Datejust - black dial * BB 58 Navy 2. Dress Watch * Calatrava 6119R * Reverso Tribute to 1931 Rouge 3. Leisure Watch * GMT Master II BLRO * Seamaster 300 vintage blue dial * Daytona - white dial ceramic 4. Gold Watch * Lange 1 - do not own * Cellini Moonphase - do not own 5. Joker Watch * Nautilus - 5712 * Patek Weekly Calendar - do not own
Great video! For me the perfect collection would be: - Rolex Explorer 1 (daily wear) - Bell & ross br v2-93 traveling / shady area's) - Rolex bluesy (dates, beach party) - Patek 5296 WG (work) - Patek 5296 YG (work) - Patek 5711 White (special occasion)
Based on my mood on a particular day. I try to match the clothes i'm wearing, or make it a counterpoint to the attire. Often I switch after work and put a different one on for the evening. i just think you need to wear them. All. And often.
My tastes seem to keep changing. I have two, but I think for me maybe it will be three. Sports / Diver / Travel - Tudor GMT - it took me a few watches buys and sells to settle on this Everyday - Rolex Explorer, my office watch So, the third I think I need more bling. From seeing it on this channel, maybe that large blue cartier santos might be perfect. Can get my wife a Cartier too for special occasions together.
nice idea, i like the small santos white dial with gold bezel on women. looks fantastic. what do you think about the bracelet on your explorer? i'm thinking about buying one.
Watchcraft The oyster is excellent - I wear it tight, but can easy link it out. I’m going to give it a go on a leather band for some variety, but I think it probably suits the bracelet best.
It is a very nice 5-watch collection. Alas, out of reach for many, either due to budget constraints or non-availability (years long waiting time). For a gold watch, I'd go for something vintage, like for example the IWC R2500 (solid 18k gold case with champagne dial) paired with a nice black strap. The caveat with vintage watches can be the comparatively small case size (not a problem with my 16cm wrist). For a daily "beater" watch, I prefer something I can easily repair (change crystal, brush or polish away scratches, replace the movement, etc.) with nary a worry about resale value. So many Seiko 5s to choose from. My favorite is the now discontinued Seiko 5 SNKN27 with beige dial. Alas, I reckon this may be too plebeian for some. Perhaps a "mid-tier" Swiss made brand like Hamilton may suffice? My favorite is their silver dial Khaki Field Auto 38mm (H70455553). Being a field watch (like the Explorer), it can be worn with casual attire, and in a pinch even for office work (the case bezel is polished, making it "dressy" enough). Replacement sapphire crystal is widely and cheaply available, and every watch maker can handle the movement. As for the beach, I like to jet ski, and there is a lot of wrist shock involved with that. To make sure I'm not late in returning the rental jet ski, I much prefer to don a G Shock or maybe a Timex Ironman Classic. They are super affordable, I will have no qualms roughing them up, nor any nightmare about a spring bar yielding to send the watch to Davy Jones' Locker. Is there ever going to be a Rolex? Yes, that would be the "occasion" watch. And for that my vote goes to the Oyster Perpetual (OP) either 39mm or 36mm. Every OP is nice to look at, every OP dial is superb, it induces weeks of soul searching about the "perfect" color. More importantly OPs are still relatively affordable with little or no waiting time. While a Rolex-JLC-Patek-AP watch collection is a dream, their "scarcity" based business model make it unrealistic, even if money was not an issue. Widening the net to include mid tier Swiss brands, and (heaven forbid) Japanese brands, make watch collecting fun and attainable today.
You make some great points, Bryan. I especially agree with the Hamilton. Most days I am wearing a 38mm Khaki Field Mechanical. The Oyster perpetual I never even considered until, a few months ago, a friend of mine bought one and I was able to wear it. Fantastic, elegant looking piece. Waiting time for him was about 1 month, without previous purchases at the AD, just as you said.
Can you please do the same for a 25k budget (and each watch not to exceed 5K new or preowned) ? My top 5 is 1960s Steve McQueen Rolex 5513 maxi dial, 1960s Omega Speedy 321, Blancpain 50 Fathoms Ocean Commitment III special edition, Omega Aqua Terra 2500 blue 39 mm, and an expendable Seiko if I use the Paris metro or similar unsafe environment.
Hi David. Great video. It is a very nice 5-watch collection. My perfect collection would be: 1- Patek Philippe Nautilus. 2- Vacheron Constantin Overseas. 3- Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. 4- Rolex Daytona. 5- Grand Seiko Sport Spring Drive.
My wrist is also 16 cm, but I like big watches. Tryed different pieces and finally got the size between 40 and 42 is sweet spot for me. All watches have to be with date. The realistic choise for me is: 1. Polar running watch with hearth monotor for daily early morning run. 2. Drive de Cartier 40 mm White dial with date as an everyday office watch. 3. Panerai Luminor 42mm good as an evening casual watch (bullet proof, masculine, countless strap options, perfect for parties with friends). 4. Omega SMP Diver 42mm blue dial with steel braselet plus option blue rubber strap is a perfect beach time and vacation watch. Also weekend watch for sunny days. 5. Rolex DJ41 Black dial with flutted bezel and jubilee braselet as a evening luxury watch for special events. Timeless classic. Grail watch. AP, Patek, Alange.. I cant even dream about.. Just to be realistic.
Just found your channel. Great content. Keep up the great work. Loved the selection of 5 watches. My 5 would be the Rolex Explorer, the Glasshutte Original Panoreserve in Blue Dial, the Tudor Pelagos LHD, the Royal Oak Jumbo (maybe white gold with Salmon Dial) and last but not least the Lange Zeitwerk Date.
Good choices! Here are my Top3: Everyday: Rolex Explorer (I am on a list at two ADs, hopefully can get one) Dress: Patek Calatrava 5196J Joker: De Bethune DB10 Re-edition in whitegold (this one I own already) And then if I would add two more: Sports/Diver: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5015-12B30-B52A, black, 45mm, titanium Chrono: A Lange 1815 Chronograph Black Dial Red Gold Case (the Datograph is unreachable :)) Would still be missing a FP Journe Chronometre Souverain in platinum then
My perfect 5 watch collection would be: 1. Casio G shock for a beater watch GW-5000U-1JF MULTI BAND 6 Made in Japan 2. Vacheron patrimony gold 82172/000R-9382 for a dress watch. 3. Daily driver/office watch would be Rolex Oyster perpetual with black dial. 4. Omega speedmaster for some special ocasions and perhaps for office also. 5. My holy grail watch - the Royal Oak.
My current watch collection is: 1. Cartier Santos Blue Dial with bracelet and blue leather strap, and 2. Panerai Luminor Marina 1313 blue dial (blue and brown alligator and blue rubber straps) To complete my 7 (not 5) watch collection, I will get: 3. Rolex Submariner black 41mm 4. Rolex Daytona black panda 40 mm 5. Cartier Tank Americaine Rose Gold 6. Patek Acquanaut 7. Extra daily watch: Hamilton Kakhi Field black dial brown leather strap
No arguing about the Explorer being a great watch but if there ever was an environment in which you would need additional complications it would probably be at work. Imo a daily driver needs at least a date.
@@watchcraft The model closest to the Explorer 1 is probably be the Datejust and would also be my first choice. Having the day or a second timezone would also be nice for me personally but those watches are probably way too flashy to be worn in the office, at least if you stay with Rolex. Other brands offer better options if you want to fly under the radar :)
1. Day Date 36mm in platinum 2. Cartier Tank green dial on stainless steel bracelet 3. Explorer 1 36mm 4. OP 36 yellow dial 5. Submariner no date Wild card: Cartier SolarBeat
My wish-list 5 watches: 1. Breitling Navitimer dark green dial 46mm 2. A. Lange Zeitwerk 3. Corriga01 Bronze, green dial (for the metal/rock look :P) 4. Seiko Snowflake for "dressy" situations 5. Oris Aquis Blue Whale limited.
Beater/weight lifting - Casio mission impossible Pool or beach beater - seiko SKX009 Work or weekend - Sub Work or weekend - Speedmaster Dress - sub or speedy works for being in a suit once a year. Lol. I work in healthcare and don’t dress formal. But if we’re being strict I’d go JLC reverso or JLC MUT moon phase .
Hi David. Just found the channel and you are doing a great job. My top 5 today will change next week. I will definitely update this comment, or put a new one up in a few days with the top 5 👏
I personally don't care for gold watches, but that is purely a matter of taste only, so I substitute a Traveler instead, as I travel a lot and like the GMT function. Daily Beater: Rolex Submariner (Black dial, steel bracelet) Pool wear watch: Longines Conquest Chronograph (Blue dial, steel bracelet) Business Casual: Armand Nicolet M2-04 White dial, steel bracelet Dress Watch: Baume & Mercer Hampton, White dial, black leather strap Travelling watch: Armand Nicolet S5-03 GMT, White face, Rubber strap
@@watchcraft I'm looking forward to the release of the Ball Worldtimer/Diver. Perfect watch for me, as I dive all over the world and need to keep track of multiple timezones for my businesses, and also my dive time. (or boiling an egg, or whatever else I need to time :) ) shop.ballwatch.ch/en/rm/rms_worldtime_611
Here’s my grail list. 1:Daily ‘beater’: Grand Seiko SBGX261 2: Sports watch: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak two tone silver dial 37 mm, or maybe even the new 34 mm depending upon which of the two looks best on my wrist. By the way I wish they would skip the date complication, the second hand and the rotor/automatic system and hereby allow the watch to get a flatter more elegant profile, like the iconic 39 mm iconic 15202. 3: Gold watch/dress watch : Piaget Altiplano GOA31114 38mm or Patek 5196R/5196G I am a humble man, I can manage with just three watches, and still live happily ever after.
Great Video! I like your collection choices. For global accuracy down to a second, I'd add a CASIO Multi-Band 6 Tough Solar watch that can survive any wear, tear and give me many complications. I'd add a category: "Watch with a Story to Tell" which would be a Hamilton Rail Road Pocket Watch that still works to this day.
Wow, Hamilton rail road pocket watch? That's a piece of history. You know there's a company in the US that converts old pocket watches into wrist watches. might be cool to wear that Hamilton on the wrist sometimes
@@watchcraft Sounds very cool. And a nod to how the pocket watch eventually made it to the wrist (I was told) for easy time reading by soldiers and pilots.
@@Bippy55 Yes as far as I know by one pilot especially, Alberto Santos Dumont (see my video about the Cartier Santos). Would be interesting to learn more about the the role that the military played in transitioning from pocket to wrist watches.
@@watchcraft I'm glad you're interested in the evolution of the wristwatch. Here is one video that explains how the pocket watch transitioned to the wrist during coordinated battles... ua-cam.com/video/nXVL5WpkuGk/v-deo.html
This is only one video. Another idea was that a personal timepiece looked like a sewing spool of thread (with the dial on top of the spool) and it hung from a waist belt.
1. Smart watch/beater. Garmin or G-shock for working out or vigorous work in general 2. Work watch. Robust but still classy Omega seamaster 300 3. Everyday/casual. This is the watch in between dressing up or dressing down but presents more practicality while still looking good. JLC master control chronograph calander 4. Play watch. The weekend watch, events, or simply being with friends. Rolex yacht master 40 5. Special. Date night, xmas parties or birthdays. Patek Calatrava
Nice choices! Mine are; Batman with oyster bracelet, JLC Master control moon silver dial, Tudor bb 58, The gold piece, I like the presidential 40 ice blue dial. The joker piece. That's tough! AP chrono black dial with blue or gray registers. What do you think on my selections?
Great choices man! I'd gladly own all of these pieces! But for the AP, I love the white dial in 38mm. It's just a shame that all "normal" Royal Oaks have display case backs, but the Chronos don't. Why would they hide that beautiful movement?
Mine would be rolex sub no date, rolex hulk, reverso, ap chrono 38 panda, patek 5712. But i need one more for the gold piece which is rosegold green dial daydate.
Nice selection and agree in most of your choices, l would personally change your second choice for the Dress watch. That strap has something wrong!!! I would personally go for a Master Geografic Q1368470
This is a version of my Perfect 5 watch collection: Everyday - JLC Master Calendar gold Work - JLC Master Geographic sector dial Dress - Rolex Day/Date (President) gold with white dial Sport - Rolex Sub Complication - VC Overseas chrono (black dial with white sub dials)
Personally I wouldn't bother with the JLC Master control or the AP. I would get a gold JLC Reverso instead. Better value and more class IMO. Couldn't justify the Explorer 1 either. I reckon 3 is the perfect number: a Rolex Sub (or GMT), a JLC Reverso (or Cartier Santos) then just a G Shock (or Smart Watch, Fitbit etc.)
For me the best 5 1. Tudor black bay steel 2. Breitling Blackbird big date 3. Panerai luminor base 4. Rolex Explorer 1 5. A Lange und Söhne Saxonia or a Cartier Santos The first 2 watches I already have 😁
Nice idea. It should be one from the 70's though. I think with the countless "limited editions" Omega is constantly chipping away from the historical value of the model.
@@watchcraft I love the HB-SIA, titanium, lightweight, used to fly around the world in the Solar impulse, GMT (airplane arrow), retro techno style numerals, carbon fiber dial ... 😍, absolutely love it. But the standard, the professional is very cool as well, the one which went to de Moon.
Toll wie das Video gebracht wird auch die Ausprache ist klar und deutlich. Zu den Uhren, Tja was soll Mann sagen, tolle Stücke und speziell die AP sowie PP schwer erreichbar. Somit Grailwatches. Daumen hoch weiter so. Grüße aus Wien
Mine would be : (1) everyday + leisure - omega seamaster 300. (2) office + dinner gathering - Cartier Santos dumont. (3) special watch + formal event - can’t make up my mind ..... either JLC master control Geographic , Or grand Seiko Blue Iwate (4) gold watch - rose gold Vacheron Constantin oversea perpetual calendar ultra thin. (5). Ultimate grail - Back to all simplicity and finest craftsmanship. ...... the white dial blue hand Credor Eichi II
Watchcraft ah yes , true . Well it is a ‘dream watch’. Vacheron Constantin oversea automatic blue dial is good enough if I could own one , Such Beautiful watch . I like the gold Auderman Piguet Royal Oak as well - iconic design and so desirable .
1. Beater and SCUBA Diving: U-Boat U42 Chronograph 6475 OR Sinn U1 on green NATO 2. Daily Wear: ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL 36 SILVER DIAL ON OYSTER BRACELET 3. Dress: ROLEX PRECISION VINTAGE 9K GOLD on gold Milanese bracelet 4. Task Watch for Motorcycling/Flying Airplanes/Timing BBQ Grill: BREITLING AEROSPACE EVO chronograph Night Mission on black NATO 5. Leisure/Spare Time/Do It ALL Watch: OMEGA SEAMASTER Diver Professional 300M JAMES BOND NTTD Milanese bracelet OR Rolex Submariner 2 tone with black face on oyster bracelet WILD CARD AFTER COLLECTING ABOVE TOP 5 FOR FLEX: GLASHUTTE Original PANOMATIC Lunar on black leather (the only one of all the ones on my above list that I don't own.....yet...)
Just a personal thing, I would need something Japanese and something German. 1. A. Lange Richard Lange 2. Grand Seiko SBGE255 3. Omega Speedmaster FOIS 4. Rolex Seadweller 4000 5. IWC Spitfire chrono
Wot, no 'grab'n' go quartz'for when you've already missed your bus ( & it's not wise to wind your rolex- other watch brands are available - on board..er, you've also left your phone in the rush, so you can'tuse that either..)?
My perfect collection would be a Rolex submariner, Omega speedmaster, a field watch and for me that is a citizen ProMaster tough, a G-Shock, and a dress watch some type. For me that is currently an Orient trooper.
I think 3 watches is what I need, anything more than 3 will be in bank safe.
1) Rolex Steel (Submariner or GMT)
2) Patek Dress with some complications
3) Audemars Piguet gold or Rolex gold.

My thoughts on 5-piece collection in 2 different retail price tiers, semi-affordable class (5k).
-- Everyday piece: SARB033/035 vs. Omega Aqua Terra (new integrated rubber strap looks awesome)
-- Dive watch / sport piece: Tudor BB58 vs. Rolex Submariner Date
-- Dress/formal piece: Montblanc Star Legacy Auto 39mm vs. Cartier de Santos medium (would consider Grand Seiko SBGY003 close second)
-- Chronograph: Omega Speedmaster vs. Rolex Daytona
-- GMT: Grand Seiko Sport GMT SBGN005 vs. JLC Reverso Duo-face (would consider Rolex GMT-Master close 2nd).
I would consider these two categories too, but for these the base-tier prices would be higher:
-- Artisan/mastercraft piece*: Grand Seiko "Snowflake" SBGA211 vs. F.P.Journe Chronometre Bleu (would consider ALS 1815 up/down close 2nd)
-- Gold piece (bling bling)*: Rolex Sky-Dweller Gold-bracelet (Dial is irrelevant) vs. Audemars Pigeut gold featured in this video.
Of couse, I've gone and rattled off a bunch of watches in the end, but hey I think price tiers are a consideration for most of us. Personally I'm very happy with just my SARB033, BB58, and grand seiko snowflake. :)
Interesting choices, and I like your personal collection too. The Snowflake has one of the best dials in the watchgame, imo.

Great choices! Me personally I'd switch your daily driver and your sports watch. Submariner for everyday use, Aquaterra for sports/water.
Daily/work: OP36 126000 silver dial with the yellow gold indices
Leisure: Tudor BB58 black/gilt
Formal: JLC Reverso classic duoface medium size on black alligator leather
Vintage & chrono: Breitling Top Time 810 reverse panda on black calfskin leather

My perfect collection would be:
1- Patek Philippe Nautilus.
2- Vacheron Constantin Overseas.
3- Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.
4- Rolex Daytona.
5- Grand Seiko Sport Spring Drive.
that would be a very nice collection. i would add a real dress watch though. how about a F.P Journe Chronomètre Souverain?
My wrist is also 16 cm, but I like big watches. Tryed different pieces and finally got the size between 40 and 42 is sweet spot for me.
All watches have to be with date.
The realistic choise for me is:
I love the Drive the Cartier. Would take the gold one with the second time zone. stunning piece
Thank's a lot Akhil! And great choices too. I absolutely love the Jumbo with the Salmon Dial. But I don't love the price.
Nice choices for your ideal collection. I prefer well-worn and patina(d) vintage though. The stories they tell (if they could talk) are incredible.
1)Patek Aquanaut 5147a
2)AP Offshore 26480ti
3)Rolex Hulk
4)Cartier Santos Chrono XL
5)Panerai Submersible 01226
Good choices!
Here are my Top3:
Everyday: Rolex Explorer (I am on a list at two ADs, hopefully can get one)
Dress: Patek Calatrava 5196J
Joker: De Bethune DB10 Re-edition in whitegold (this one I own already)
And then if I would add two more:
Sports/Diver: Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5015-12B30-B52A, black, 45mm, titanium
Chrono: A Lange 1815 Chronograph Black Dial Red Gold Case (the Datograph is unreachable :))
Would still be missing a FP Journe Chronometre Souverain in platinum then
Great choices. I hope you get your Explorer soon
My perfect 5 watch collection would be:
1. Casio G shock for a beater watch GW-5000U-1JF MULTI BAND 6 Made in Japan
Instead of the rolex I would consider a Grand Seiko, however at this time I dont have exact model in mind. I could also be just a seiko, like SARB033.
My current watch collection is:
1. Cartier Santos Blue Dial with bracelet and blue leather strap, and
2. Panerai Luminor Marina 1313 blue dial (blue and brown alligator and blue rubber straps)
To complete my 7 (not 5) watch collection, I will get:
3. Rolex Submariner black 41mm
4. Rolex Daytona black panda 40 mm
5. Cartier Tank Americaine Rose Gold
6. Patek Acquanaut
7. Extra daily watch: Hamilton Kakhi Field black dial brown leather strap
great choices. Daytona I would take in white though
No arguing about the Explorer being a great watch but if there ever was an environment in which you would need additional complications it would probably be at work. Imo a daily driver needs at least a date.
good point. you do need a date complication, especially at work. I must agree. So which watch would you use as a daily driver?
@@watchcraft The model closest to the Explorer 1 is probably be the Datejust and would also be my first choice. Having the day or a second timezone would also be nice for me personally but those watches are probably way too flashy to be worn in the office, at least if you stay with Rolex. Other brands offer better options if you want to fly under the radar :)
1. Day Date 36mm in platinum
2. Cartier Tank green dial on stainless steel bracelet
3. Explorer 1 36mm
4. OP 36 yellow dial
5. Submariner no date
Wild card: Cartier SolarBeat
Love all the recommendation but the last for me would be the A. Lang and Sonhe Tourbograph
can't go wrong with a Lange
My wish-list 5 watches:
1. Breitling Navitimer dark green dial 46mm
2. A. Lange Zeitwerk
3. Corriga01 Bronze, green dial (for the metal/rock look :P)
4. Seiko Snowflake for "dressy" situations
5. Oris Aquis Blue Whale limited.
Beater/weight lifting - Casio mission impossible
Pool or beach beater - seiko SKX009
Work or weekend - Sub
Work or weekend - Speedmaster
Dress - sub or speedy works for being in a suit once a year. Lol. I work in healthcare and don’t dress formal. But if we’re being strict I’d go JLC reverso or JLC MUT moon phase .
good choices. you can throw the Speedy on a leather strap and it makes a fine dress watch.
Great video. I agree with the 5
Thanks man
fuck off piece: patek_philippe_5170_(2015)
everyday joy piece: rolex explorer 214270
dress piece: breguet 5157
conversation piece: Vacheron Constantin Historiques Triple Calendar 1948
beater piece: omega_speedmaster_57
I do love Breguet. I'll never be able to afford one though :)
Hi David. Just found the channel and you are doing a great job. My top 5 today will change next week. I will definitely update this comment, or put a new one up in a few days with the top 5 👏
looking forward to it Mark, and thanks
Great ideas for a 5x collection but these are a bit out of my price tier. How about another video that takes a zero off the price tags?
Beater, BB58 blue
Dress watch, BB58 black
Leisure watch, BB58 blue
Gold piece, BB58 black
Joker watch, BB58 blue
I personally don't care for gold watches, but that is purely a matter of taste only, so I substitute a Traveler instead, as I travel a lot and like the GMT function.
Daily Beater: Rolex Submariner (Black dial, steel bracelet)
Pool wear watch: Longines Conquest Chronograph (Blue dial, steel bracelet)
Business Casual: Armand Nicolet M2-04 White dial, steel bracelet
Dress Watch: Baume & Mercer Hampton, White dial, black leather strap
Travelling watch: Armand Nicolet S5-03 GMT, White face, Rubber strap
I like GMTs too. would go with the Pepsi or the Aquanaut Travel time
@@watchcraft I'm looking forward to the release of the Ball Worldtimer/Diver.
1:Daily ‘beater’: Grand Seiko SBGX261
2: Sports watch: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak two tone silver dial 37 mm, or maybe even the new 34 mm depending upon which of the two looks best on my wrist. By the way I wish they would skip the date complication, the second hand and the rotor/automatic system and hereby allow the watch to get a flatter more elegant profile, like the iconic 39 mm iconic 15202.
3: Gold watch/dress watch : Piaget Altiplano GOA31114 38mm or Patek 5196R/5196G
I am a humble man, I can manage with just three watches, and still live happily ever after.
great choices humble Klaus
Garmin or G-shock for working out or vigorous work in general
2. Work watch. Robust but still classy Omega seamaster 300
3. Everyday/casual. This is the watch in between dressing up or dressing down but presents more practicality while still looking good. JLC master control chronograph calander
4. Play watch. The weekend watch, events, or simply being with friends. Rolex yacht master 40
5. Special. Date night, xmas parties or birthdays. Patek Calatrava
Love the JLC Master Chrono. Especially in gold. A real heavy hitter for a reasonable price.
You have similar taste to me in watches, good choices
Thanks, David.
nice 5 piece collection.... cheers
thank's Craig
Nice choices! Mine are; Batman with oyster bracelet, JLC Master control moon silver dial, Tudor bb 58,
The gold piece, I like the presidential 40 ice blue dial.
@@alihussain5272 Thank's for the kind words, Ali.
The part with Arnold I take as a compliment :-) will hit the gym now.
You chose the President 40 ice blue dial as your gold piece? I thought the ice blue dials were reserved for the Platinum watches?
Mine would be rolex sub no date, rolex hulk, reverso, ap chrono 38 panda, patek 5712. But i need one more for the gold piece which is rosegold green dial daydate.
Nautilus white dial, rolex datejust salmon dial, aquanaut , reverso JL and Rolex day date ice blue dial.
Nice choices!
Nice selection and agree in most of your choices, l would personally change your second choice for the Dress watch. That strap has something wrong!!! I would personally go for a Master Geografic Q1368470
You're right, you'd have to change the strap for a black one. I like the moonphase in the Q1368470.
This is a version of my Perfect 5 watch collection:
Everyday - JLC Master Calendar gold
Work - JLC Master Geographic sector dial
Dress - Rolex Day/Date (President) gold with white dial
Sport - Rolex Sub
Complication - VC Overseas chrono (black dial with white sub dials)
all very good choices. I especially like the Master Calendar in gold
I'll never understand the fascination with the AP Royal Oak or the Patek Nautilus. They are a very dated 1970's design. Each to their own I guess.
That would be a good collection too. I like G Shocks
For me the best 5
1. Tudor black bay steel
2. Breitling Blackbird big date
3. Panerai luminor base
4. Rolex Explorer 1
5. A Lange und Söhne Saxonia or a Cartier Santos
The first 2 watches I already have 😁
Congrats! Hope you get the rest of them soon too. Especially the Lange, I really want one of these too, but above my budget.
I would change the JLC for Omega Speedmaster, I love it, with such a historical value. As a dress piece the gold would fit.
Vielen Dank, Christian!
Rose gold and black - classic
Nailed. It.
Thanks David
Jlc is my favorite
Can you also do a video about the perfect 8 or 10 piece collection?
Mine would be : (1) everyday + leisure - omega seamaster 300. (2) office + dinner gathering - Cartier Santos dumont. (3) special watch + formal event - can’t make up my mind ..... either JLC master control Geographic , Or grand Seiko Blue Iwate (4) gold watch - rose gold Vacheron Constantin oversea perpetual calendar ultra thin. (5). Ultimate grail - Back to all simplicity and finest craftsmanship. ...... the white dial blue hand Credor Eichi II
I love the Overseas in Gold. But it's sooo expensive!
Watchcraft ah yes , true . Well it is a ‘dream watch’. Vacheron Constantin oversea automatic blue dial is good enough if I could own one , Such Beautiful watch . I like the gold Auderman Piguet Royal Oak as well - iconic design and so desirable .
Id swap the JLC for a dual face but how could anyone complain about those 5.
Hellou from Schwitzerlad. Äi läik the wotches you chose!
Nice video
thanks Cristian
1. Beater and SCUBA Diving: U-Boat U42 Chronograph 6475 OR Sinn U1 on green NATO
2. Daily Wear: ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL 36 SILVER DIAL ON OYSTER BRACELET
3. Dress: ROLEX PRECISION VINTAGE 9K GOLD on gold Milanese bracelet
4. Task Watch for Motorcycling/Flying Airplanes/Timing BBQ Grill: BREITLING AEROSPACE EVO chronograph Night Mission on black NATO
5. Leisure/Spare Time/Do It ALL Watch: OMEGA SEAMASTER Diver Professional 300M JAMES BOND NTTD Milanese bracelet OR Rolex Submariner 2 tone with black face on oyster bracelet
WILD CARD AFTER COLLECTING ABOVE TOP 5 FOR FLEX: GLASHUTTE Original PANOMATIC Lunar on black leather (the only one of all the ones on my above list that I don't own.....yet...)
that's such an interesting collection! I like it
Wow...great choices. I think I would replace the JLC with a Cartier Tank.
I just got into Tanks myself. Love em especially the Solo in Gold
Just a personal thing, I would need something Japanese and something German.
1. A. Lange Richard Lange
2. Grand Seiko SBGE255
3. Omega Speedmaster FOIS
4. Rolex Seadweller 4000
5. IWC Spitfire chrono
everybody should own a Lange and a Seiko. I agree.
3 will do for me
Rolex Yachtmaster Rhodium
A Lange & Sohne Saxonia
Gronefeld Principia 1941
Rhodium is the best Yachtmaster by far. Excellent taste, Sir.
1. Yellow gold Submariner
2. Yellow gold Submariner
3. Swatch Flick Flack
4. Yellow gold Submariner
5. Yellow gold Submariner
haha
switch Sub to Day Date and I agree
Hhmm.....interesting. What would my 5 be...? Beater = Casio Royale on a velcro strap; Daily = Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean; Taking wife out to dinner = JLC Reverso; Travel = Ch. Ward C1 World Time; Dress piece = Dad's 1955 Rolex Oyster.
You're very lucky to own a vintage Rolex that was passed on within the family. That's priceles.
@@watchcraft Of the five I mention, I do not have the JLC or Ch. Ward Worldtime......but hope to some day.
Wot, no 'grab'n' go quartz'for when you've already missed your bus ( & it's not wise to wind your rolex- other watch brands are available - on board..er, you've also left your phone in the rush, so you can'tuse that either..)?
switch explorer for speedmaster and master control for reverso
Why only Swiss? Why no major complications? Live a little!
Agreed. Don't have the money for complications though :-D
Where is your 16610 which is on your hand?? Lol
Yeah that was my first luxury watch ever. For sure would keep that one too.
My perfect collection would be a Rolex submariner, Omega speedmaster, a field watch and for me that is a citizen ProMaster tough, a G-Shock, and a dress watch some type. For me that is currently an Orient trooper.
Great choice. I think Orient is underrated. good watches, great prices
5712/1A check
Sub no date check
Chrono perpetual calendar check
Daytona Patrizzi check
Aquanaut blue NOT CHECK !
i like the blue aquanaut. the green one as well
Take.
Rolex Dj41
Rolex Submariner
ULysse Nardin dual time GMT
Glashutte PanoMaticLunar
Rolex Rootbeer
Great choices!
Not even a chronograph??
You're right. Let's add a Paul Newman. Or a 1969 Moonwatch.
Finally someone else who doesn’t like the everose👍🍺😂
We might be the only two people in the world with that opinion :-)
Sorry to say this but you have been influenced by UA-cam Instagram etc
aren't we all?
