Notes from Jason: For this one I had to rely on my ears because as Nancy Wilson herself says, it’s never played the same way twice. This is definitely true - no two live videos are the same, which makes my job a little harder? The Wilson sisters are a true gift to rock music and this intro is so iconic. Plus, Roger Fisher’s awesome fills make this song a really fun one to play. Nancy said she used a thumb pick in the studio but uses a pick live. Since I’ve never used a thumb pick in my life I decided to play it safe and use a pick/hybrid picking.

Actually, I taught the same as you but when and if you put your mind to it, it ain't that difficult. Problem here is that this fellow played it way too fast...he should slow it down to match the original recording.
@@miraposajehano4309 I was thinking this does seem insanely fast. Even more impressive I guess! In general I am awful at fingerpicking never mind hybrid picking. It's something I need to knuckle down on and get practising
@@steverainingagain7956 Practice makes perfect. Go one note at the time, stop the video and then this altogether again until you learn it all.

Most excellent. I bought this CD when was a youngster in the military. Blew my mind!!! Never could figure out how to play this incredible song properly Nancy is a genius. Fun Fact: If anyone listened to Art Bell raging through the night back in the heyday of Coast to Coast AM, THIS WAS HIS FAVORITE SONG!!!! Many a time he pondered over the meaning and lyrics even noting back then the crescendo of impending doom brought about like a prophecy from Ann's powerful voice and lyrics in the beginning.

What a treat to get two classic Heart songs so close together. That acoustic intro is an amazing piece and what a great song. Tone is, as always, on point. Never heard of Zager guitars, sounds great and nice set of accessories they included with the guitar.
I first saw Heart live on their Bad Animals tour. Met Howard Leese and Mark Andes (bass player) after the show, they were both really nice, took photos, signed autographs for everyone. When the Wilson sisters came out, they were whisked immediately into their limo by, I swear, a Bruce Dickinson looking security guard who took his job way too seriously. Those ladies weren't having anything to do with us plebs!
Fun story about that encounter. Howard was signing stuff literally at his limo door. When I got to him, I looked inside and there was, what I assume to be a groupie, in the back seat on the far side. She was in all black, high heels, thigh high stockings, leather mini dress and like a leather halter top thing. I never saw her face, don't remember her hair color, just her outfit. I always thought that encounter was like the perfect movie scene with never seeing her face.

Let’s do something a little more louder and intense soon like ‘Heaven and Hell’ by Black Sabbath (Dio era with Iommi blowing minds on the fretboard writing decade defining riffs and solos as usual) or Dio ‘Holy Diver’ (It’s incredible Vivian Campbell could shred like that and write such cool stuff at just 22yo)
You should do trapped under ice, sanitarium or to live is to die by Metallica, would love to see that.

@mr tabs . I have been having trouble on a certain part after the intro the 14s you have put are they meant to be 16s? as that is what your playing in the video so it doesn't match. Thank you for the tab as it's the only one that has the full song. Your awesome!!!

This guitar is a Ron Kirn Signature Strat strat. Ron lives in Florida and builds strats and tele style guitars. It’s pretty nice! It has a Wilkinson bridge. Doesn’t quite sound as strat like as your average strat bridge but it’s very nicely engineered. It’s actually more of a sonic/daphne blue but the lighting is making it look purplish!

I am 11 years old and I am already starting to figure out the intro and I’ve been playing for 10 months
Awesome! The hardest part is keeping that open a going as much as you can. I wouldn’t worry about getting it exact because Nancy Wilson always plays it differently and it’s a very cool section that you can kind of add your own licks to. Good luck and I’m happy to know it’s going well for you!
