Hey Everyone! Before I include some notes about the video, I want to give a shout out to PRS for sending me out the guitar for this video. It is an SE McCarty 594 and besides being absolutely gorgeous to look at, it sounds and plays amazing. This is the best guitar for me personally because it has the tones of single coils and humbuckers with the push/pull knob feature. I will 100% be using this for my cover band gigs. I also have to note that I didn't have to keep re-tuning it for this video. Because of how PRS position their tuners on the headstock, this guitar doesn't have the tuning issues that many other guitars do because of their design flaws. I strongly recommend this guitar because of all that I have noted and also because it is affordable.
What great timing! We have hit 500K subscribers and this song has been requested for some time. I had a lot of fun learning this and tabbing it out for you all to learn. I really hope you enjoy learning this tune. Besides Gary Moores killer vibrato, he also has amazing chops so this is definitely a challenge. I did do a couple of things differently for this video and I will note them.
In the first verse, I gently strum the chords to kill dead air and space. Moore doesn't play this live and his backing band takes over. Start strumming in measure 13 if you want to do it exactly like he does.
I am also using the bridge pickup for the verses and choruses except for when I break out a lead. I felt this was a better sound for me personally but Moore uses his neck pickup for those parts.
And that's really it! I studied his finger positions from about 3 of his live videos because I couldn't see them all in the live in Hamburg video. And took very educated guesses on his scale positioning if I was unsure. I really feel that this is an accurate tab. I am really new to Gary Moore so if you have any more suggestions, feel free to let me know down below!
Parisienne Walkways of course !!
Great work - insane that you hadn't studied his stuff before. Here's the Mt. Everest of Moore solos: ua-cam.com/video/oDycPo6wt2A/v-deo.html
you are the champion
Do hellraizer by Ozzy Osbourne or motorhead
The tone that you've replicated deserves a rousing applause!!
MAN................... I STILL get chills hearing this..... even someone other than Gary!!!!!!! VERY nicely done! BRAVO
Rock on!
Gary was a huge influence on me, particularly his earlier stuff. Always nice to see him represented as he really was one of the most tasteful players of his time imo
under rated in us .why I can not understand.
The amount of emotion that Gary captured in his leads was incredible. What might appear to be simple half and full step bends, are really quite difficult to pull off with the same level of soul and clarity. You did this justice! I’d love to see Parisienne Walkways (live) from you!
Can a 6 month player play the solo 2 ?
Cuz iam nailing everything except the fast parts , is it possible to play them ar 6 month?
@@its.nightxtz7054 some parts of solo 2 sure. But if you've only picked up this instrument in the last 6 months, it would be very challenging to nail all of it with such little experience
@@h.epennypacker9229 okayy thank you, how long have u been playing?
would reccomend to a player who has played on and off for 5 or 6 years or a player that has played hours a day for 1-2 years, Hope this helps
@@its.nightxtz7054
You nailed Gary's tone 100%. That was absolutely incredible. I always loved his playing, and to me he's the king of sustain. Will you be doing Parisienne Walkways ever?
Thank you! I'm sure we will get to that one eventually! There's a link to our webpage in the description. You can add any requests you have there, if you'd like. That way we have them all in one spot!
Yeah because you know haha
Definitely between him and petrucci kings of sustain
It’s almost like you know what you’re doing.
Ahahaha ahahaha, for sure huh??!!🔥🎸💙
He does
Peace sells or fight fire with fire pls
Edit: this is kinda sad but this is my most liked comment
Peace sells
Peace sells a good one!
👍
Yes! Kansas
Peace sells 👍👍👍👍👍
Man..this live version is amazing. The outro solo almost bring tears to my eyes. Great job 👍
this is the most incredible Blues song ever, and you, Sir have done it so much justice. This is a song you must 'feel' when playing. Wow. Incredible! Thank you for sharing
I don't think people recognize you enough as a pure musician to pick up on the changing tones throughout a song and the small playing techniques that make you sound closest to the original artist than other 'lesson' videos - but ofc thank you so much for the tabs! 5:28 and the 15 seconds afterwards was like true heaven to hear
What an amazing cover, absolutely phenomenal control of a VERY tough song to nail. The nuances of Gary’s vibrato is incredible, but you make it look easy. Thank you for the time spent putting this together- talk about inspiration!
Glad you liked it!
I'm not crying! You are crying!. AWESOME PLAYING. RIP GARY. Thank you for so much music.
What an "INCREDIBLE" job you did my friend. I can (truly) say that if I closed my eyes I wouldn't know if it was you or Gary playing; it was "flawless". Thank you for all of your time and effort in making your videos. I'm confident that you have thousands of subscribers, including myself, that you inspire. As a 76 year old Blues Player I'm, always, so impressed with your level of playing...
This is an excellent execution of vibrato technique
I agree. Vibrato is the most important skill in a guitarists repertoire.
80's Rock Gary Moore is my favourite, but his playing on this track is gorgeous.
One of the things I love about your videos is when you identify the guitar you’re playing. That is so helpful in getting the tones.
This guitar is so nice as well. Plays like butter!
OMG that was incredible. I even know which live show it was taken from and that you left out the gaff Gary made in the phrase starting at 4.40. The fact that you seem to have all those very fast licks down in such an incredible way...amazing. Top marks for not butchering it. The vibrato is spot on. Wow!
Great lesson! Looking into the progressions Gary Moore seems somewhat versed in classical methods and gospel for sure, hIs voice is so beautifully full of grace with perfect pitch. Then he decides to play blues/ rock and this is the gift we get. Thanks again Mr. TABS!
My favorite guitar solo ever, you are truly the man.
Just beautiful in every way. Nailed Gary's feeling and touch and tone, which is very difficult to do. 👍
Absolutely one of the best masterpieces ever produced great great reproduction
Beautifully done! Got the chills here! I will learn this song once again! Thank you for the video!
Awesome cover bro! I always wanted to learn this song, and such a coincidence lately I'm feeling better at guitar and you post this video. Excellent!
One of, if not the greatest tone I've ever heard dialed in on this channel!
Perfect tone! Amazing transcription and clean playing. The timing is impeccable.
Your ability to have the right tone is amazing.
What a tremendous service you provide! Thank you. Seeing Tab (accurately done) along with someone playing along (and always chords above) is such a game changer. Thank you again!
Our pleasure! This is such a great song. I'm so happy to see that there are so many Gary Moore fans out there!
Great job! Nice playing and a very very close Gary's sound. Thanks for sharing the tabs!
Some of your finest work - nailed that tone too
been learning guitar for a little more than a year now, and I'm so glad I found you in my fyp, you helped me on my gnr, metallica, ozzy, and aerosmith phases. thanks to you and my discipline I learned songs 90% perfectly like sweet child of mine, enter sandman, dream on, bark at the moon, one, master of puppets, tornado of souls, free bird, and so many more.
Thanks Mr tabs, the one and only
Man I love you, like 2 years ago I made my own cover by ear as I could but yours is just perfect.
Absolutely wonderful. A great tribute to a great guitarist. This solo always makes me a little misty. I would love to see you take on another that has also moved me every time I hear it , Firth of Fifth. Congratulations on the 500,000!
So crazy. I was listening to Blues Alive yesterday and this comes out today. Great job as always.
One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Dude the tone and bends are pure gold. Damn you're good! Kudos!
Omg, that was pure feeling, like the master Gary Moore, RIP
Surprisingly this made me feel better, thanks man
This intro is gold 🥹🥹🥹
Thank you so much. I can't tell you how long (it was so long ago) I wanted you to tab this.
Bro.. I've been following you for a long time and I have to say that this video is as professional and on point as I have seen on this platform.. Great f-ing job 💯 🤘
That was incredible, Man. The tone, that vibrato🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey Bro,Mr tabs said to three of us in the comments that we won something.Did you talked yo him ok Telegram? I dont know if he is the original mrtabs
@@marmanson3578 Don’t buy that BS, it’s a fishing scam that’s happening all over UA-cam
@@stephenhanlin2388 Thanks man, I spoke to him on telegram but I quickly realized it wasn't him and I deleted the conversation and blocked him before the message reached him. I don't think anything happened
Thanks Stephen. Yes it's hard to keep on top of these scams. We would never ask for any personal info (except maybe what your favourite tunes are!)
@@marmanson3578 No problem
I've had every note in that solo committed to memory for years now, but can only play it on the air guitar....You frikken NAILED it man!!!
Nailed it? Huh?
F***ing nailed it! Beautiful vibrato. Congrats on the 500k subs and the guitar!!
Stunning cover/lesson!!
great tone and nice play ! this cover channel is one of the best...!
MANNNN THANKKK YOUUU , THIS SONG ALWAYS HAS BEEN IN MY HEARTH

Nice job covering this song. Great guitar tone.
That was the badist cover of still got the blues I ever heard. Bravo.
This is very very very very amazing!!! Congratulations mr.tabs, you always make the best tabs.
@Mr. Tabs ,is this Guy really you? I don't know
It's me! (Patrick!)
Nice work Mr Tabs. And now the "The Loner" recorded at Hammersmith Odeon with 12 min. Thank you.
I've been looking for this. This is THE BEST version of this song ever performed live in my opinion; and you, sir, did an amazing job! I'm going to dedicate many months, or even years ahead learning this master piece. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Rock on!
magnifique reprise du tres grand GARY .BRAVO Mr Tabs
Wow. Nailed it, and beautiful tone. I’m begging you, please do cover of ‘the thrill is gone - live; Gary Moore & B.B King.
Just immaculately played man! And I’m glad that you chose the live version
HAD to go with that legendary live version!
What live is
Fabulous work! That PRS model is a fantastic choice for cover band work along with a Digitech Drop Pedal for quick tuning changes for stuff like Crue, VH, GnR, etc. I have a Gibson LP Classic that has nearly identical features BUT doesn't necessarily have the same tuning stability. Would make for an interest A/B test! Thanks again for your contribution to music education and posting these gems!
Beautiful!!! Also congrats with 500k Mr. Tabs!! Keep it up and you'll might have 1 mil at the end of 2024 :))
been waiting for this forever! Great job
Wow, thanks! One of my all time favorites.
EXCELLENT...As always - beautiful!!!
Congratulations Mr Tabs for this song.
I'VE BEEN WAITING MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS VIDEO
bro thank you so much, i been wanting to know the tabs , i know how to play the regular one not the live one which in my opinion has more emotion and feel to it. THANK YOU!!!
Por favor más videos de Gary Moore! 💯 Un maestro de la guitarra olvidado.
Great Job as always Mr. Tabs one of the best blues solos of all time
technically this is a jazz standard though, no?
@@paulerxx well maybe the progressions, notes are standard. but the thing is timings, vibratos , right feelings, combining all the progressions and making unique melodies all together is what makes the moore unique in my opinion. have listened to many blues players but gary is unique for sure
the best lesson of this song, thank you
Was literally looking for these like 2 months ago, ur a god
Que música maravilhosa! Gary Moore, um gênio
Amazing I’ve been waiting for this one
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS. I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SO FOR SO LONG.
(can you parissienne walkways next, if you have the time...and the demand....you don't need to I'm happy with this!!! Thank you!)
JeeZ absolutely amazing. Great work buddie. Love it.
This Is what i'm talkin about bro!!! Love this song
Viewers note -- this is the live version, not the album version. I don't know how it's humanly possible to TAB something like this, much less play it. I am in awe of your ability.
What a great job like ALWAYS! Saludos desde México.
este solo de guitarra es épico, se disfruta cada nota ✌
Great lesson video, thanks for the Tabs! Such a great song 🎵
I saw Gary Moore in concert on the Run for Cover tour in Mannheim Germany. He definitely Rocked but also played with a lot of feeling.
That must have been an awesome experience!
@@Mr.Tabs.Guitar.Lessons Yes it was!
Back then
It was General admission and I was able to get 20 or 25 feet from the stage. I still have my ticket stub, tour program and my tee shirt
