Dude! Yoshio Harada (Takeda) had so much fuckin' swag! We really don't have many actors even nowadays that are just so cool they don't even have to say anything; you're just enchanted by their body language and facial expressions. Also, I remember when I saw him deflect those throwing stars as a kid like "get that shit outta here", I was like OOOOHH SHHHIIITTT!! Dude is just too cool! Also, a really underrated old-school action movie. Has always stuck with me. Plus, you can rarely go wrong with classic Christopher Lambert.
He was superb in this, especially I love how he enters the train compartment with the sword in his hands held behind him as the automatic door closes. This scene is badass. It goes against the instinct; as in most passengers are running away from the kill squad and this guy is walking towards them so calmly. They don't know how to respond to it, you can see that they are puzzled by his demeanour. He commands attention without saying a word.
I like that it shows ninjas as regular people and not people with special powers like the old Sho Kosugi films which I loved by the way. good sword fighting in this movie to
I still wonder if Takeda could have defeated Kinjo if he'd met him on the train. It was like the old drunk told him. You can't defeat Kinjo with a sword but with your heart/soul and by the end he had done a lot of bad things in his quest for vengeance and honor. He was losing honor will simultaneously Kinjo was trying to gain a bit of honor and was haunted by his own actions in killing Kirina at the first. Of course Kinjo was a killer and it could be that Takeda was just out matched especially out in the open against a younger opponent.
The assassins weren't expecting an armed, and skilled opponent. They were killing openly, and weren't concerned with strategy. They also weren't prepared for anyone who could resist them on their own terms. Takeda had the advantage of surprise. Also as he was making his way to the killing ground was able to pick areas to fight which favored him, and eliminated the numerical advantage that the assassins had. If Takeda had been this level headed, and had been this methodical im choosing his battleground with kinjo he probably would have won.
I know this is a super old Post but the groups name is Kodo and they are a very famous taiko group. If you get a chance I would highly recommend seeing them live. I have had the pleasure twice and it is defintely worth it.
No1 will see my face... Lol it can be seen just on the ground & just imagine... Wolverine would've just killed em right off stead of playing like that...
It would have been better if Christopher Lambert had been taken out of this film. He is a useless character that American cinema demanded to put in the film. Old movies were like that.

0:13 by far the most awesome, badass character throughout the entire movie. So swag/suave.
*Takeda was the ultimate samurai badass.*
This is one of the better Ninja movies.
You mean, this is the ONE ninja movie.
Sadly, this movie went under the radar. It's a good movie. We also see the same actress who played Mariko in Shogun.
"is this kinjo??!!" classic movie!
I like that it shows ninjas as regular people and not people with special powers like the old Sho Kosugi films which I loved by the way. good sword fighting in this movie to

He was also out matched because of fighting styles.
TAKTO JSEM O TOM NEPŘEMÝŠLEL. ČERNEJ ZABÍJEL NA ZAKÁZKU A SAMURAJ SI JEN HRÁL VE ŠKOLE

Amazingly titled clip.
Damn, you ended it before the single fight between him and the last one which is a bad ass fight on its own. Dammit man!!
I think this may have inspired the train sequence in The Wolverine.

Fighting inside the Shinkansen Bullet train
haha there are quite a few camera/acting errors in this film sequence.
get stuffed you #######. It's a good movie - just humorous to see the errors.
vladimir Putin fsb Yeah, there's a bunch of them in the whole movie but it's still a sweet movie.
If this man was on the train with that joker psycho no police would be needed.

He ruins the movie big time
I love the katana as a quick fencing sword so quick and deadly but I love my bastard broad sword for brute strength

If you paid attentioned he picks up the wrong sword when he battles him. I believe that's why he lost the fight it wasn't his sword.
