They have dull hooks. Just sharpen them a bit.

How do you retrieve it back I just got one of those lures

Luis Serratos a slow steady retrieve works well, but you could also try a little faster steady retrieve

@@AaronsOutdoor1 if that doesn't work bring the lure close to the surface to make bubbles once every 4 feet. The bass that hit my lure blow up when it surfaces (bubbles). Get the version of this lure where the connector is a loop instead of a bend.
