Ah, the nostalgia of playing the SSE & brawl is just flooding back to me, say what you will about brawl, for me it has the best single player campaign to date & with this being one of the first Wii games that we as a family had, meant that I played so much brawl. BTW brawl is the only game I have the prima guide only because i saw it for 50 pence. The best part of the guide is the well crafted map for the great maze, so useful.
@@storm5936 weirdly, I played the single player in Melee so many times, but I only played the Brawl one once. Perhaps I’d just aged out of it, I was 12 or maybe 13 when Brawl came out but I was playing Melee at 8, and just getting another few goes on the gacha machine in Melee was enough for me to play through the single player campaign for the fiftieth time.
This particular version of the theme (in SSBB) is what got me interested in video game music in general. (before that I only knew themes from games I played) The melody and arrangement was so mind-blowing it changed my life. Glad you could flawlessly cover it.
Same here. This song is what gave me such a fondness of Diddy Kong, Fox And Falco despite being a zoomed and haven’t ever played any of their games. It’s also one of the pieces that has resonated with me through all of my life. If I feel like I’m hating video games and or their music all I need to do is listen to Bramble blast again and then the spark will just reignite
I think there's something fitting about Carlos's last arrangement being one of the Stickerbush Symphony. That's probably one of the most powerful and influential songs in video game history, considering it's one of those ones that just dredges up nostalgia and brings people together, regardless of if they even grew up with the original game. I'm excited to see where it all goes from here. Thanks for the great 10 years, we can't wait to see what you do next!
Stickerbush Symphony is one of Carlos's first covers, back in 2013 when they were mostly piano. The year after, he gave it the full sax treatment - an achingly good arrangement that I've kept nearby since. Which he then revisited in his 2016 Precipitation album! Now that I know this tops off his cover-artist career... it hits differently.
I'd like to believe it isn't true. This man has made too much good music and there's still so many he never got around to that I wish I could hear. maybe someday...
Even better, all of the people in this arrangement ended up joining him for Insane in the Rain! The only person missing was Andrew. Something in the back of my head is secretly hoping this was perfectly planned by Carlos XD
Knowing that this was a sendoff to his VGM cover career makes it hit different. One of my favorite things to see in people is growth, and in the years that I've followed Carlos' channel, it's easy to see that he has certainly grown. It shows that there is a lot happening behind the scenes. Maybe I should get a therapist, too, to help deal with emotions I've buried for years lol. Anyways, Carlos, if you see this, I'm just one of many wishing you the best as you continue to do more of what you want to do in life.
@@NicoMendozaMusic I absolutely LOVE the "comforting" almost loving sound your fretless gives out, it feels like sitting on a cloud listening to that solo on the beginning. Awesome.
Normally songs don't move me to tears, but this one really got me. Knowing this was the last cover is like a stone in my stomach, but I'm so glad to have lived during the Insaneintherain era
This track cemented my love for calming battle themes. The intensity combines with the soothing atmosphere to make such an aggressive melancholy worthy of fighting some great battles to. I've always loved this track, and this cover brings those emotions to the forefront. Thank you for making this! And these people you're collaborating with? Amazing. I hope to see more collabs like this in the future!
I guess I never thought of this as a battle theme, but in context of where it plays, I see it! Glad you like the collab too, we’re aiming to do one of these a month, hopefully :)

This brought tears to my eyes. It may just be because I'm already in a very stressful and emotional time in my life right now, but man... this arrangement just made me feel some way. I could almost feel my soul exiting my body for a moment, and *UGH* the fretless bass playing the guitar solo and the very beginning was just .. gorgeous. A work of art. The cherry on top. Actually, the really cherry on top was the big wave of nostalgia this cover gave me, because bramble blast has been and always will be my favorite piece from the Brawl soundtrack. Everything about this video is just so damn perfect.

fantastic. Bramble Blast encompasses the entire feeling of Brawl and it just holds so much nostalgic weight. your arrangement is just superb and the solos are killer! nice work Carlos 😊
It's poetic, really. Smash Bros Brawl was really one of the first video games of my life that I really got into. I specifically remember this song above all else. It really started a new phase of my life and got me new friends. And then for this arrangement to be Carlos' last, who I've been listening to for 2-3 very long and hard years of my life: for another part of my life to close with this same song... Well, it's poetic. Thanks, Carlos. Thanks for everything you've given me. I know one of your reasons for leaving was that you don't arrange for other people, but thanks anyway for just doing what you do. I wish you best of luck to the next phase of your life.
I love how your saxophones manage to sound like EWI (or out of this world, in other words) at moments) And also thanks for bringing Justice to one of the best remixes of Super Smash Bros Brawl
It's amazing. I hadn't thought of SSBB in ages. I loved the subspace emissary as a child, playing through it so many times. And I played multiplayer with my friends plenty of times. But that was all in a box of old memories in the back of my head, gathering dust. Then I heard the opening lines of this, and suddenly that box was open, in the front of my head, demanding attention. And I'm carried back. To games with friends. To wandering through the Great Maze, finding the doors. It's a wonder how music can be so strongly connected to a memory, but I'm glad for it.
Knowing that this is the last cover Insane's gonna do on the channel is incredibly bittersweet but hey man what a hell of a way to go out and we wouldn't have it any other way. What on Earth?? Your arrangements have been ON POINT recently, this is such a banger!! Soprano sax with fretless bass is such a mood too, I'm a sucker for that mix of old-school 70s and contemporary fusion styles - with your signature tenor towards the climax being the cherry on top. One of your best works yet imo!
Thank you for the music Carlos. Always! Every growing cascade, every energetic solo that bursts until it floats then soars up again - this song will be the one I remember your channel by. It's the one I dance around the room to, the one that gives me a lump in my throat knowing its going to end, and a spark in my heart knowing that great music, great games, and great memories live on forever. Cheers to the rest of your journey, the VGM cover world will forever be inspired and impacted just by you having been a part of it. I say this with all the excitement in the world: I cant wait to hear you in my favorite new games' soundtrack someday, while I'm excitedly telling my friends, "Guys, guys! It's Carlos! Carlos made this!" I can see it now already.... So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Man, this is fantastic! I couldn't think of a more perfect cover, just flawless. No part of this ever takes away from the main vibe, but you still do so much with it! I love this, thank you.
I love how VG music always seems to bring out the best in the community. Whatever salt or drama or troubles can be left at the door and people just enjoy the music. :)
I'll be honest, I haven't been able to listen to this song in a long time, just out of it being ran into the ground as *the* DKC song thanks to Brawl, and getting so burned out on it. It's so nice to hear enough of a fresh take on that arrangement that it can break through that burnout and make it feel like I'm a kid again. (Now I just need to pray Forest Interlude someday gets the love it truly deserves)
An amazing arrangement of an amazing arrangement of an amazing arrangement. Solid grooves all around, sick soprano and fretless solos, and some of the most passionate egg playing I've ever seen, 10/10
I've been waiting for YEARS to listen to your take on this gem and... It's glorious, I'm crying tears of joy. Thanks to everyone involved, it's so beautiful. 💚 Also, I learned what a fretless bass is.

Man, this is fantastic! I couldn't think of a more perfect cover, just flawless. No part of this ever takes away from the main vibe, but you still do so much with it! I love this, thank you.
This is beyond beautiful !
I love how VG music always seems to bring out the best in the community.
Whatever salt or drama or troubles can be left at the door and people just enjoy the music. :)
Dom killing it with just the right touch on the drums for this track
I'll be honest, I haven't been able to listen to this song in a long time, just out of it being ran into the ground as *the* DKC song thanks to Brawl, and getting so burned out on it. It's so nice to hear enough of a fresh take on that arrangement that it can break through that burnout and make it feel like I'm a kid again.
(Now I just need to pray Forest Interlude someday gets the love it truly deserves)
this arrangement is my favorite and it's so nice to see it done justice by you.
genuinely the perfect cover!!
An amazing arrangement of an amazing arrangement of an amazing arrangement. Solid grooves all around, sick soprano and fretless solos, and some of the most passionate egg playing I've ever seen, 10/10
Shoutout to egg!!
Your covers are among the things I love most about the internet.
They help me a lot to feel good. Thank you with all my heart!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the BRAWL rendition of Stickerbush Symphony!!
This is so good y'all, this has been stuck in my head for the past hour 🔥
This is a certified bop. Also how’s your Diamond and pearl remake going?
Thanks! It’s going pretty well so far, I’m not very far in yet haha
I've been waiting for YEARS to listen to your take on this gem and... It's glorious, I'm crying tears of joy. Thanks to everyone involved, it's so beautiful. 💚 Also, I learned what a fretless bass is.
I just happened to find this video just to find out it was the creator's last.
Dude, this song got me through many a night of college and I have waited 20 semi years for someone to make a proper remix.
This is it! I hope for you, however, it is NOT it. You are awesome!
Thank you!
What a handsome bunch of lads absolutely smashing my expectations. That was a lovely experience!
literally one of my favorite songs of all time so this is incredible
Man love your solos
Whoa, that fretless bass sound is cool
Nostalgia overload. This was perfect, keep it up
