Cool theory! Rey defeating Palpatine is one of my favorite scenes in TROS because of how it's shot and the epic score. I'm also growing to love that only the voices speak to her. If you think about it from Palpatine's POV, he thinks he's just fighting this scavenger but he's really fighting every Jedi he ever sought to destroy. It also makes the scene feel more like Rey's personal victory against her grandfather.

This scene absolutely DOES NOT prove Ahsoka is dead, here's why.
Let me quote a few lines from the TROS novelisation:
"The battle above disappeared. Instead, Rey saw a perfect sky, vast with stars. Peaceful. Light-filled. It was like she was staring through a window to somewhere else, a place between places."
Place between places = world between worlds?
"More voices came at her fast but gentle, as though she lay at a confluence of the Force, possibilities, futures and pasts all stretching away from her, or maybe leading toward her. The cosmos, time, energy, being-nothing was the way she’d thought it was."
This pretty much proves it's the "world between worlds" we saw in Rebels.
This would mean she's not just reaching across space, but time as well, to reach every Jedi that ever existed.
So it doesn't matter if they're dead or alive at that point.
    And further down we read:
"Presences filled her awareness, some recent, some ancient, some still anchored to the living in a strange way. Rey didn’t understand. But she accepted."
So "anchored to the living" would explain Ahsoka's voice here.

    I love this theory.
I was always between Rey reaching out to the Jedi as a way of them reassuring to her she could do it, then she used the last of her strength (Because Palpatine drained a lot from her) to defeat Palpatine and the Jedi giving her all the energy so she could get up, but it was too much for her to contain, which is why she breathes heavily after she gets up and immediately falls after the Sith church falls.
I like that we don't know exactly what happened.
It's a very emotional scene for me.

My wife's watching TCW for the first time and the ease with which Ahsoka so often leads and guides others has had me thinking about Battle Meditation. One could easily chalk it up to obedient clones and Ahsoka's sincerity (Ahsoka's realness should never be underestimated), but there have been moments where I think the synchronicity is more than meets the eye.

    • @ATATChat
      @ATATChat  3 роки тому

I greatly hope we come to understand the full extent of her connection to the Force. It seems more mysterious, along the lines of The God's of Mortis is a sense.

    • @chikininabizkit
      @chikininabizkit 3 роки тому

Legit. Omg, I have so many thoughts. I would love to see them use her show to dig into some of the really trippy Force stuff. TCW and Rebels get into it, but there are 9 whole movies about Jedi and there's only ever a light dusting of how crazy the Force can get. I think Ahsoka's show would be the perfect time to really lean into the heavily mystical side of Star Wars.
Also, for better or worse, the new Canon has made purgills deeply connected to the history of hyperspace travel. I think it'd be cool to find out they don't just jump into hyperspace, but actually access a space similar to the World Between Wolds. I also suspect that the meta-story they're building up will probably be something like: The purgills jumped into the Unknown Regions, but because Ezra has a connection to the Force, he somehow became lost in the Vergence Scatter - and not only was Thrawn able to find a way back because he's not Force-sensitive, he's the only one who knows how to get to Ezra. (I'm also a fan of the idea of Rahul Kohli playing Ezra.) I think it'd be a cool way to show that being a Jedi isn't always just laser swords and ninja flips and levitating stuff - there are down-sides, sometimes.

I always wondered if that was what Qui-gon was doing for Obi-wan in Phantom. Before taking Maul on 1v1, Obi-wan wasn't up to the challenge. After Qui-gon meditated Obi-wan was able to keep up with Maul. Now of course it could just be that Obi-wan was fueled by the rage of seeing his master killed, which I'm sure is the more likely. However, Qui-gon using batlle meditation is something I can see.

I always assumed that the thousands of generations of Jedi were just flowing through Rey to give her strength.... but Ahsoka using battle meditation makes far more sense from a lore perspective. And even if it is never confirmed, I still think this is a much better theory then what I was thinking. Also makes sense because Ahsoka was the only living Jedi to speak to Rey, so it stands to reason Ahsoka would’ve achieved this knowledge to benefit Rey’s fight against Palpatine.
Would be interesting if the Ahsoka show delves into how much Ahsoka has learned after the events of Malachor, and possibly even confirming this Theory to be true.

Think it'd be pretty retconny to say Ashoka helped Rey AND was the only alive Jedi voice AND was the only one that could physically help at that time. If there was some indication in the movie then maybe. But otherwise it'd be like the "Palpatine used sith scream in ROTS" explanation lol. Interesting thought though, and I kinda wish they did that but actually had Rey have a distinct reaction to Ashoka's voice.

As a huge Ahsoka fan I instantly thought of this when I read this about Avar. Combined together with Filoni doubling down on a character not needing to be dead in order to communicate through the force (Luke in ESB with Vader) and the Gandalf drawing he did saying people thought I was dead too.
I also thought of Luke force projection. Ahsoka would definitely be as powerful as grandmaster Luke if she could pull off a feat like this and didn’t die (because it’s essentially the same method, sending your life force through the cosmic force it’s just one was used as an image and the other used to empower Rey across the galaxy)

Your theory's actually not that bizarre when you think about it in the light (sorry, no pun intended, lol) of things about the Force we learn in the Mandalorian and the "The Light of the Jedi". However, I also understood "battle meditation" also as a way for armies fighting for the Light to coordinate and act as one, using a powerful Jedi as a focus point, increasing their strength and willpower to win, while doing the opposite for the Dark, similar to the hypothesized effect Yoda had on the Battle of Geonosis in The Attack of the Clones. Do you think that was going on during the Exegol battle? I'm not sure if this a "Legends" version of battle meditation, as I haven't had the chance to read the new book.

@@ATATChat - To be fair, expectations were high (typically the case with Star Wars). I think that many who were expecting one thing but it didn't happen, may felt a little disappointed, and in some cases that leads to bitterness.
Admittedly, in the last battle between Luke and Kylo in _The Last Jedi,_ I was expecting to see something similar to the Luke that we saw in _The Mandalorian._ So when that didn't happen, it did feel like a bit of a letdown, but when you look on see the context of the story, you appreciate it more. I can see Luke in both of those scenes and appreciate both.
Luke + The Mandalorian = Anakin (prime/Revenge of the Sith)
Luke + The Last Jedi = Obi-Wan (elder/A New Hope)
It's similar to the effect of books-to-movies transitions (and vice-versa). What I've noticed is that if you watch a movie and find out that it was based off of a book, people are more likely to read the book and get more into the story (That's how I got into _Dune_ ).
Reversely, if people are reading the book, and then a movie comes up, for some reason, people will dislike/hate the movie because it wasn't like the book. There are several reasons for that, but one of those reasons will probably be because there were details in the book that were not introduced into the movie, and so viewers become more critical.
      It's an interesting oddity...

I think we may see the events of TROS in an animated show like with ROST in TCW. Ahsoka with Ezra's help do battle meditadion and helps Rey and the force ghost take down the immortal sith lord. I think Ahsoka and Rey's stories will come together one day and will rebuild the jedi order to their glory days. She saw the downfall and eventual rise of the jedi order, and she has 20+ years post TROS before she dies in sleep like Yoda.

Omg, I didn't even think of Ezra. I do wonder if Rey will meet Ahsoka. I think she would be 70 right?

@@ATATChat Yess if my math is correct she 70 and Ezra be as old as Luke. I want to add Cal too, but he could die in next game for all we know. I think in some ways Ahsoka and Ezra will be involved in this conflict similar to what rebels showed of early glactic rebellion. We know from recent comments and he wants to end her story in animation, so could see her help Rey and train new jedi. I think Ahsoka will be the gandalf to Rey's frodo. a senior member and new blood of the jedi.

it would make sense for it to be ahsoka cuz rey could barely move untill the jedi gave her strength and ahsoka being the physical strength in alot of ways i view this like the avatar state 10,000 yrs of avatars lived in korra just like the jedi lived in rey ravaa was the light spirit of all the past avatars

On another afternoon after another practice session, Ahsoka, Ben and Grogu have some refreshments. They get at a table a droid has put together a set of small sandwiches, tea and some cut up fruits and vegetables.
Ahsoka: Help yourself gentlemen. Take a few pieces of vegetables or fruit Grogu ok.
      Grogu: Mmm-Hmm.
Ahsoka: Would you like some honey with your tea Master Solo?
      Ben: Yes please, thank you.
Ahsoka: (Gives him the honey.) So, while we’re out here, and we’re putting today’s lesson to the side let’s talk about something else for a change. Nothing about family, or lessons, techniques. Whatever you want.
Ben: (Pauses and tries to think, doesn’t have any ideas. Grogu dips his celery in the peanut butter sandwich.)
Ahsoka: Would you like to talk about Rey?
Ben: I’ve already mentioned Rey before.
Ahsoka: I know but perhaps maybe you’d like to talk about her some more. Since she happens to be very special to you.
Ben: (Inhales and sighs he feels a little embarrassed about the subject.)
Ahsoka: (Hands on his shoulder) Ben it’s all right, you don’t have to hold anything back from me.
      Ben: (Sighs)
Ahsoka: (Understands that he’s a little nervous initiating the conversation so she figured she ought to start off.) What is it about this woman that you feel that she is like an equal for you? Not to say you’re both one person but why do you have the connection that you do aside from knowing that you are both a Dyad.
Ben: (Pause) Well, for one thing we’re not afraid to be open.
      Ahsoka: In what way?
Ben: In terms of personality there’s a number of things that makes us equals. How stubborn we can be, the ferocity, the anger, feeling like almost nobody understands or listens to us and how lonely both of us have felt.
Ahsoka: You both came from a lot of painful, traumatic upbringings that have affected you and Rey.
Ben: We’re still strong though in our own ways. Rey, I think is the strongest out of both of us, she’s strong in a mental, emotional way that I still struggle with quite a lot but I’m working on that. You’re helping me with that.
Ahsoka: I think you’ve figured that part out about yourself because it seemed like you already want to do something about it.
Ben: (Nods) We’re both pretty clever too, she’s clever and smart in a street-smart way and as a survivor from all those years of being abandoned. Whereas with me I had a lot of access to education especially in reading and writing and when I used to train with my Uncle. And uh… you know its strange master; I get the feeling that our differences and similarities go hand in hand in the way that the Yin and Yang symbol goes hand in hand with itself in the cycle of balance. There’s a balance that we have that brings us so close in our connection it’s like no matter what something about it will never be disconnected, a part of me is a part of her and a part of her is with me.

I like the idea, but at the same time Ahsoka would be nearly 70 during TRoS, with her ending the Clone Wars around age 17 and TRoS being ~50 years later. We don’t know how Togrutas age, but her youthful voice still suggests to me that she is one with the Force.
