وقع خلط في كلام الأستاذ عبد الرحمن، بيانه على النحو التالي:
المس في لغة العرب لا يكون إلا مس البشرة للبشرة، قال الفيومي في المصباح المنير في مادة م-س-س: (أَفْضَيْتُ إلَيْهِ بِيَدِي مِنْ غَيْرِ حَائِلٍ هَكَذَا قَيَّدُوهُ)، فالعلماء يقيدون المس أن تكون باليد ومن غير حائل، وقد أشار إلى هذا الإمام الشافعي وغيره.
وعليه؛ فقولك في تفسير الحديث: إن الحديث دال على عدم التفرقة بين الحائل وغير الحائل = لا يستقيم، ولا يصح أن تستدل بالحديث على هذه الجزئية بعينها.
يعني على اساس الناس هنا يعرفون اللغة العربية... اكتب بالعربي!!!

What if there is a very very elderly man or woman who is struggling to go up stairs or cross the road etc. Is a brother or sister allowed to offer physical assistance to such a person from the opposite gender?
Likewise if there is a blind person struggling to find their way on a path, can a muslim offer physical assistance to a person from the opposite gender?
Even in situation mentioned above A Muslim would try not to touch an opposite gender unless in an emergency situation where he or she is forced by the situation and can't be helped without touching.
If I see a girl falling from the stairs and I can save her by holding her, then I should. I don't need to ring a Scholar whilst she is rolling down the stairs and then later call an ambulance . Lol

Even eating pork or dead mean is permissible if you are starving for instance...
That means, it's not the ideal, but Allah won't burden souls to that level...
And just as saving your life can justify some things, saving other people's lives also can...
But I would consult with someone of knowledge.
But saying something is haram when it isn't can also be a sin brother... watch out.

What if a woman touches you without your permission. For example, a class mate taps your back when she tries to grab your attention. Or a teacher taps you. And you never intended to touch them?
Actions are based on intentions. If you didn't want it but it happened without your permission Allah won't hold you accountable inshaAllah.
A person can not go against Islamic teachings regardless of intentions.
The situation you mention would be completely out of your control but if this did or does happen you can also ask/advise politely to prevent it happen again

I have seen ruqyah clips where raqii is taking Jinn out of females by grabbing pinky then somewhat smacking the hand. Any idea if this is from the Sunnah
That’s why the best type of Ruqyah is Seld-Ruqyah. And men aren’t allowed to touch women while doing Ruqyah.
Touching in ruqyah is not necessary. It can be done with the same gender, but it’s not necessarily needed for effectiveness. With regard to with the opposite gender, touching is absolutely haram and not from the Sunnah

This entire fatwa appears to hinge purely on one man's (Sh Albani RH) authentication of some hadith that are considered weak by many muhaditheen. It would be good for the sheikh to mention the other opinion along with their evidences.

the hadiths did not restrict on age of the men or women. so we shouldn't think it is alright to do so because the person is old. And Ustadh AbdulRahman already explained the concern around age. wouldn't the same apply to women as well as it applies to men?

It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.”
Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 486. Shaykh al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 5045, that this hadeeth is saheeh.

Muhammad bin Munkadir said that he heard Umaimah bint Ruqaiqah say:
“I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with some other women, to offer our pledge to him. He said to us: ‘(I accept your pledge) with regard to what you are able to do. But I do not shake hands with women.’”
@life Lesson That does not mean that he hasn't desires. And saying "According to the Sharia" is very dangerous, as the Sharia is the law of Allah (swt).
@life Lesson The hadith you mentioned does not say that old men don't have desires. It maybe could imply that their desires are less, but completely negating their desires is not possible. Furthermore, for the sake of the argument, even if they had no desires, touching non mahram woman would still be haram for them. Except if you can bring something to prove otherwise.
The one who explained it to you, if he is a reliable source and if he can bring proof for his claim, then we will accept it.
Regardless if the old man has desires or not, it is impermissible as the hadith ustadh mentioned (paraphrased) 'it is more dear to me for a metal rod to be put into my head than to touchthe hand of a woman'

Why can no one actually be honest and open about our religion. Okay I understand that you follow a particular school of thought etc.. but give different opinions of different scholars. You said your answer like all scholars from time of the prophet to 2020 agreed. Look at sheikh Qardawi fatwa for example.. regardless of what he believes, he showcases all the different evidences for both sides of the argument..
