The Prophet (pbuh) said:
"Read Ya Seen over those of you who are dying/deceased."
(Narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan (Jana'iz), al-Nasa'i in his Sunan (`Amal al-yawm wal-layla), Ibn Majah in his Sunan (Jana'iz), and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih (Ihsan), and he declared it sound (sahih).)
The Prophet said: "Ya Seen is the heart of the Qur'an, no man reads it desiring Allah and the afterlife except he is forgiven. Read it over your dying/deceased." Ahmad relates it in his Musnad (5:26)
`Ata' ibn Abi Rabah said: I heard Ibn `Umar say: I heard the Prophet say: "When one of you dies do not tarry, but make haste and take him to his grave, and let someone read at his head the opening of Surat al-Baqara, and at his feet its closure when he lies in the grave." al-Tabarani narrates it in al-Mu`jam al-kabir, but Haythami said in Majma` al-zawa'id (3:44) that the latter's chain contains Yahya ibn `Abd Allah al-Dahhak al-Babalti who is weak. However, the hadith is confirmed by the practice of `Abd Allah ibn `Umar as narrated through sound chains (see below). al-Khallal also narrates the hadith in his al-Amr bi al-ma`ruf (p. 122 #239).
It is related that al-`Ala' ibn al-Lajlaj said to his children: "When you bury me, say as you place me in the side-opening (lahd) of the grave: Bismillah wa `ala millati rasulillah -- In the name of Allah and according to the way of Allah's Messenger -- then flatten the earth over me, and read at the head of my grave the beginning of Surat al-Baqara and its end, for I have seen that Ibn `Umar liked it." Narrated by Bayhaqi in al-Sunan al-Kubra (4:56), Ibn Qudama in al-Mughni (2:474, 2:567, 1994 ed. 2:355), al-Tabarani in al-Kabir, and Haythami said in Majma` al-zawa'id (3:44) that the latter's narrators were all declared trustworthy.
Not only is the part about the Qur'an in this video is wrong but also leaving out a solution that the ulama gave for this, that is accepted by all the ulama(except maybe the salafis of today, as with many things, Allah knows best) is to do these actions like Qur'an, tawaaf etc and after make Dua for the dead and make Dua that the reward for this action be given to the person

Allah protect us from this fitnah, misinterpretation, incorrect, and this skewed 'salafi' way of going against the majority of the ulama, so many(the majority) have said clearly, the tilawah of the Qur'an reaches and benefits the dead, from them: Al Qurtubi, Ibn Hajar, An Nawawi, and wait for it,.....Ibn Al Qayyim as well, almost the entire Hanafi and Hanbali madhabs, and numerous incidences from the Sahaba, Allah Have mercy on them All, and when people are doing khatam of the Qur'an after someone has died, I always wondered why these turned salafi yesterday people would reprimand them, now I know where it comes from
Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Sharh Muslim: This indicates that the reward for du’aa’ will reach the deceased, as will that of charity. As for reading Qur’aan and giving the reward for that to the deceased, offering prayers on his behalf, etc, the view of al-Shaafa’i and the majority of scholars is that this does not reach the deceased. End quote.
Aslamalakum brother/sister, please be careful with your words and inshallah we should all seek out the truth with manners befitting to what is prescribed in Islam. This is a statement by Imam Al-Nawawi which goes against your claim.
Our knowledge is small, that is why we rely on scholars & the evidences they’ve come with. If there is a difference, we can seek out the information on both sides but how can we call an imam a “fitnah”? May Allah protect us indeed.
Your argument is absurd brother. Even if a scholar says its allowed, their has to be some evidence from Quran or hadith to show it was done or is allowed. Otherwise these scholars are claiming they have more knowledge of the deen the the Prophet saws and his companions ra. No authentic hadith showed they did khatams of Quran for the deceased. And please dont believe this propaganda that the majority of the scholars said it was allowed
