Always one of my favorite Gram Parsons songs :-) This will go through my head every now and then just by happenstance (even if I don't play it often). Great song. Fantastic version, too, with Albert, Ricky, Mark O'Connor and Harry Stinson and etc.
When you're so good you have Ricky Skaggs playing rhythm guitar for you :-) some badass pickers on that stage.....Harry Stinson...Mark O'Connor. ,....yikes
Albert is one of Eric's favourite guitarist, which must be why Eric has used Albert in his own band. Read Eric's auto biography to read it in his own words. Guitar playing is not a competition, although I do believe as guitarists/musicians we have a duty to push ourselves and improve, not only for ourselves but also for the sake of the instrument.
Handsome Harry Stinson, for a good while now with Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives. Looked up Harry's discography once online-- a scary amount of accomplishments. Often he doesn't even drum, just sings harmony. And didn't he drum in Steve Earle's Dukes too?
I love AMS; I had recorded all these shows with Albert Lee in the early 90's, and of course the tapes turned to uselessness. I just wanted to say that I read the comments here. I read about the headliners Albert Lee, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, et. al., but many do not appreciate the virtuosity of Brent Rowan (listen from 0:40 for about ten seconds- that's not Ricky playing), the solidity of Harry Stinson on drums, Glenn Worf on bass never makes a mistake, Matt Rollings I have seen performing with Larry Carlton in Japan. What a band. Where are the musicians of this caliber today? With all of the outlets on cable TV, there's certainly a spot for talent like this.
Bill Branch - Amen! AMS band was first rate - all of them. My tapes are all gone. Thank god for youtube!. Now if someone can track down some old David Lynn Jones and post them...
@@alecstone7503 That three pickup Tele was the beginning of the end I reckon. I think he grew to like the out of phase sound and now that's all he uses on that bloody Musicman thing he plays.🤨
Amazing stuff. BluegrassLibrary, do you have the entire AMS series available? Almost all of those shows were outstanding - introduced me to a number of artists I'd not heard of before seeing them on AMS.
I think it sounds better on the music man I’m in a band myself and do an Albert lee tribute band and my dad the guitarist can play every lick Albert can play perfect he has the music man signature Albert lee guitars they sound great
Absolutely smoking version!
Out goes the British accent / in comes the "twang". Classic Albert!!

Picky Ricky has met perfection in Albert😘💙✊🏼🎶
wll at last he's met his equal! Wotta cut.
Albert is the king of hot country guitar-No doubt! Awesome video, more please!

two talented and good guys
Albert Lee rules! The tempo on this rendition is even faster than Emmylou and Hot Band version. Yee-ha!
This is from the very show that introduced me to Albert Lee's playing 20 years ago. Incredible picking!!!
hoteljason I think this is more like 30 yrs ago
Thanks for post!!!!!!!
GREAT~~~
This is why Albert Lee's nickname is Mr. Telecaster!
If you haven't already, check out these Clapton albums - "Another Ticket", "Money & Cigarettes", and "Just One Night" - all three with Albert Lee
That's where I first met Albert. And there are countless gigs in UA-cam 1983 Eric Clapton tour w Albert, soundboard, highly recommended
I love Albert pickin a tele. !!!!!!
How awesome is this in 2020?
Albert great singer!!!
I wish both Albert Lee and Brent Mason get together and show off there own styles to one another, that would be awesome right there.
Albert, We love you.
Hell yeah
One on one very hard to come out a winner against Albert.
You forghet what a great singer Albert is....lets not even talk about his guitar playing..

Eric says that Albert was the best guitarist he ever seen
Wish I'd known about Albert 40 yrs ago..
Exactly when I knew him, 1981, from "Another ticket" and "just one night"
He was indeed on most of my favorite albums, as a "back up😂 player
Only just seen this quote .
I met him in 1959.lol
Keith Little on harmony vocals! Go Keith!

For about $14 or less ou can get a tape to digital converter. Shame your valued recordings are wasted

Jeez Albert!!!
Un f in believable.
Awesome!
Prefer Albert's tone with the Telecaster way back then.
Who doesn’t? 🥲😅

@BluegrassLibrary if you could find Loving Only Me From this show we all will appreciate it thanks.
sick.
Who's playing drums? He looks really familiar.
@bashfulbro - That's Harry Stinson. I think he played drums on 95% of the AMS eps. Really good.
Amazing stuff. BluegrassLibrary, do you have the entire AMS series available? Almost all of those shows were outstanding - introduced me to a number of artists I'd not heard of before seeing them on AMS.
Hang on boys, we're taking a ride!
Smoking!!
Que le fuck?? Albert Lee is more than amazing. Wow. I am a pretty good bluegrass picker but I'd sure love to pick the electric like him!
Albert fender Telemaster!
Love Albert Lee. Hasn't sounded right since he moved to playing the Music Man guitar though.
I think it sounds better on the music man I’m in a band myself and do an Albert lee tribute band and my dad the guitarist can play every lick Albert can play perfect he has the music man signature Albert lee guitars they sound great
I can play guitar like that, I just don't want to. XD
dragknuckle j
What a Picker..Eat your Heart out all others......Albert No.1...
after hearing albert...who'd want to?
I have always thought that he looks like Martin Short.
That's who he's like! I was thinking someone from "The life of Brian" Thank you 😊
I suppose Al can play a little bit.
Nice :) QC
fuck me, albert. Jerry Reed would've said "suuuuuuunn!"
He uses the b bender tastefully doesn't over use it
@Justinamiles32 i agree 100,000,000%!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eric Clapton is like coffee; they both suck without Cream.
Neither one of these 2 are slouches on the guitar!
Is there anyone better? I think not....
when i was playing the stage in nashville i met him and blake,,yeah he cranks( great player)
Jessi Perkins
Not back then, for sure ,with the exception of Gaton.
I like this hey check out some classical guitar for some amazing craftiness as well. - see Alturas Duo on youtube
