- The first Wear OS watch that literally lasts for DAYS will appeal to anyone who values battery life over all else. The hybrid tech underneath is the stuff that others should replicate.

What is the one key feature that matters most to you with a smartwatch? Does the OnePlus Watch 2 address it?
Also, NOTE: During the battery test, I transcribed the wrong start date to paper for test #1. I actually took the watch off the charger at 7:00am on FEBRUARY 28, NOT March 2. APOLOGIES!
OnePlus have been kicking it out of the park when it comes to battery life, my OnePlus open has amazed me after coming off the S22 ultra.
Yeah and their charging speeds are among the best too.
Excellent review, Jason
Thank you so much! Appreciate you being here.
Not sure if its helpful but the strap buckles have divets in them to insert into the holes so that they don't slide off.
Yeah they do but they don't always hold into place in my experience.
Solid review, this could be the watch for me
I think you'll be very happy with it!
Great review. Love my OnePlus Watch 2. No idea how you got 100 hours with AOD on though, I get maybe 110 with it off and going to power saver at 10%. Did you go to powersaver at 20% as suggested by the watch? Also did you have auto workout detection on for the battery tests? Thanks!
Actually at 8:16 on the video, the notepad you show only works out at about 30 hours not 103?
Oh geeze that was a mis-labeling. It was a 100% date of February 28, NOT Mar 2. March 2 was when it hit 10% in my notes. Dang, how did I miss that in the edit! :( Prepare for the comments!!! INCOMING!!!!
@@Techsploder That makes sense now. I've not tried AOD yet, I'll have to give it a go. I use Raise to Wake but I imagine that actually can use more power sometimes with the whole CPU waking up when I move my wrist instead of just the lower power CPU on 24/7 (unless I'm using the watch).
Yeah could be. I will say that since these two tests, I turned on quite a bit more and it of course shortened the lifespan even more. But even running full throttle like I feel like I am right now, I'm easily getting 48 hours.
Also, thank you for calling out the incorrect data on the sheet. I wish there was a way I could overlay text on that portion with the UA-cam editor but I can't find a way to do it. So I put a note about it in the Description for the video. I'm sure people will still call me out on it! :/
Oh and I didn't respond to your question about auto-workout detection... I didn't have that enabled for those two. I definitely activated that later. But honestly, I don't care much for the auto-detection. I found it to be pretty hit and miss and I'd rather just do it myself and KNOW its doing what its supposed to.
Ultra fast oneplus charging 😃😃 need i say anymore ?? Great vid btw
Thank you so much! Yeah, OnePlus have really nailed the battery/charging thing. Not just with this watch either.
@@Techsploder yeah I have the watch 2 and the OnePlus open and coming from the fold 4 the battery life and charging are light years ahead i would recommend anyone to switch asap. You just got yourself another sub 👍
I like it. I have a Samsung Galaxy watch 5 and would definitely look at OnePlus when it's time to upgrade. One question: are there any features that require a OnePlus phone? I have a pixel fold and a Samsung watch and it is alloying that a lot of features of my watch are unusable unless I also have a Samsung phone.
I haven't encountered any features exclusive to OnePlus phones. I tested the watch with my Pixel 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
How did u get to auto hibernation mode? I don't see it on the watch
Go Settings>Battery>Scroll to bottom for ANOTHER settings button, and you'll find it!
@@Techsploder thanks
@@Sedp23 You bet! Let me know how it goes for you.
Galaxy 6 classic or oneplus 2?
Hard for me to say because I haven't spent any time with the Galaxy Watch6. Samsung's watches are always pretty darn awesome though. I'd guess they go toe to toe in a lot of ways.
What is the width of the top of your wrist.
My wrist is about 7.5" circumference.
@@Techsploder thank you, my wrist is smaller, the watch will be humongous for me.
@@mpa324 Could be for sure. At 1:32, that's my wife's wrist and yeah, it was HUGE on her wrist!
One plus battery game is by far ahead of samsung. Moved away from S21 & Watch 3 to one plus open & OP watch 2, life has been so much easier. Samsung's OS game is better but its battery life is terrible and overall value for money is not better than OnePlus
