So this is the brand new OnePlus Watch 2 and much like other OnePlus products, this boasts some wildly impressive specs, including very fast charging, a 100 hour battery life in smart mode, dual chips for faster and more efficient processing, dual band GPS for superior accuracy, and other exciting features. In essence, this watch aims to fix the smartwatch. Let’s be honest, smartwatches have struggled to overcome some serious hurdles like “all day battery” for example.

I have a GW5 I cant stop using (loved my PW2 experience) simply because of the sapphire glass and style.
I JUST saw a random Reddit about the ONEPLUS Watch 2 and thought, "Hmm... 100 hours of battery with moderate use, when I'm already getting ~50 from my GW5...?".
THEN I saw you open the Play Store @8:15 and I was pretty much sold on performance.
The watch has a somewhat vintage feel with the cylinder where the buttons are located.

I switched to Garmin after the galaxy watch. Samsung makes one hell of a watch. I did construction and smashed it rebar, concrete and dropped it off the roof. Wore it for almost 4 years. Battery life was my one complaint.

I would agree with that for sure. I had a Galaxy watch classic that handled tons of abuse and lasted years. Now I have the Galaxy Watch 4 classic and it is just as tough. Charge it every day but I charge my phone too so big deal accept it makes it harder to use it fit sleep unless I charge it when I get home before I go to bed.

This is a really comprehensive review. I have been in a test group for the Watch 2 and tested it for a while. This is very representative for the Watch 2. Great work man😁
I've had the the OP Watch 2 for a couple of days now and really like it. Battery life is great and it's really comfortable to wear. My main use case for it is as a HR monitor for the Peloton Bike and it works perfectly for that. In the Peloton watch app it automatically detects when a workout is about to start on the bike and ends when the ride ends. HR monitoring works just as well as the dedicated Peloton chest strap HR monitor. The instruction manual is pretty bare bones, so you need to figure most stuff out on your own, but so far the watch is great.

Nice watch, but it's too big and not having a tactile UI navigation option like a crown or bezel are major deal breakers.

Did you play music on to your watch (as a standalone) during workout sessions or runs / hikes because it draws extra power.
The problem with the Samsung watch is you don't get all the features if you don't have a Samsung phone

That's a cool watch! I like my Watch 6 47mm Classic and it is also stainless steel so that makes the durability statement more even. I also get terrific battery life. Between 2.5 and 3 full days. I might consider the One Plus though some day. Mighty fine looking watch.

4 torx screws secure the bottom case to the watch. That means, you can replace the battery.
Thanks for the detailed review. Wanted to buy a watch 6 classic but the Exynos chip stopped me from buying it with mediocre battery life. Finally decided to buy this partly due to its good Battery life and wear os integration.

you are using AOD on Galaxy Watch and not on OnePlus! This is unfair when comparing the battery. 😅
For me on my Oneplus watch 2 it goes from 4 days to 3 days battery with the AOD activated
LMAO I own both. Using the same custom watch face on Facer, AOD, everything on, and the OnePlus easily doubles the life of the Galaxy 6. Don't be ridiculous.
Add to that the OnePlus is waaaaaaay better looking and it's a no-brainer.

Can you get any functionality for your camera with the oneplus watch? I loved that about the samsung, would set my phone up and take pictures or videos right from the watch.

I have the watch 2. For me it took about a day off the battery life from 4 to 3 days approximately

When not using a workout mode it seems to take forever for the heart rate sensor to realize iv been moving,If i run up stairs it stays at for example 70 bpm but takes a good 20 seconds to adjust to the higher bpm when im at the top.. Another question i have is why does the heart rate not change when i have the AOD on,i have to press the screen then it jumps to the new bpm
Is One Plus 2 watch makes good smart watch/fitness tracker within One Plus eco system or did you have similar experience with any Android? I would like to try One Plus 2 watch with an android phone I have with me but do not want spend on phone too. BTW, I am in to Apple and Garmin ecosystems :)
Works great with any Android phone. I'm using it with a Samsung S24U.
from all the people who've tested this against actual scientific equipment, it on par with it's competition in terms of tracking. would love to see it up against a garmin though. That being said however, im amazed at the interface of the companion app. Oneplus really took their time building up O health and making sure this watch was NOTHING like it's predecessor. I'll wait a year or so till it goes down to $250 and then buy it, but even at $300 it's remarkable value for money given it's amoled display and battery life
Can this watch connect to a Motorola Razr 2023?
Galaxy watch 6 owner. Easily gets me through the day and still have 60 to 70 percent battery remaining. I don't mind charging it daily. I take it off before I go to bed so why not stick it on the charger.
Swap 4 one plus 2 watch chips runs like melting butter 🧈🧈 won't regret purchase on 5th day since I charged

Seems like a great watch, the one drawback is HR accuracy. Is it possible to pair an external HR monitor?
It's pretty accurate. If you really do want 100% accuracy, get an expensive device to measure your bpms, not a smartwatch that is not meant to do that as accurate.

It's pretty accurate. I compared it to a dedicated chest strap HR monitor for the Peloton Bike and the readings are virtually identical.
I replaced my galaxy watch 5 for opw2 and I feel it way better! Screen appears bigger, watch feels skinnier on my wrist and is more comfortable to sleep with. There is no huge gap under the wristband and battery is way better. Charger is better (usb-c and quicker).... I'm really happy with this product

Coming from gw (472) to gw6 (425), I miss the battery lasting a few days vs. a day. Noticed Op 2 is (500) mah battery.

Battery on mine has been underwhelming. Im at 58% after fully charging it to 100% at 12PM yesterday. AOD is OFF. Graphics acceleration is OFF. Only using official watch face. The only thing I enabled was 02 monitoring during sleep tracking. Also noticed DnD and Bedtime Mode dont sync between my OnePlus 12 and cant figure that out. There is no way it can last 100 hours at this rate.
I did try AOD for about 30 minutes but its far too bright for use in dark settings and I cant make it lower so I left it off.
Edit: Checked battery settings. Apparently using the smallest text size was draining a ton of battery?

@@malikhussain4983 its only dropped 5% since I put the font size back to default around 5 hours ago.
I am guessing the smallest font puts it into a higher resolution mode and doesnt allow the the smaller chip to take over.
I'm at day four and at 33 percent. AOD off but flip to wake on - Legit battery life.
Have Spotify signed onto the watch but I can play anything from it directly. Anyway I can listen to Spotify on the watch itself

I have both watches and I will sell my Ticwatch Pro 5. There are many small details that makes the Oneplus watch 2 a better watch due to my opinion

I think it is important to say what phone did you use to pair the watch. Because I'm sure there are differences between Samsung paired with OnePlus Watch. In my opinio it's great watch, BUT... The fact that you can't schedule DND or Sleep mode, don't have the option to sync your watch with Modes&Routines with an Galaxy S24 ultra is no go for me. And also you can't disable Daily Routines even if you deny acces to sensors for all sensors. So, I will return it. It's just incomplete

Let's get confusion out... This watch supports the long battery life with some conditions. I couldn't consider this as replacement for my Galaxy watch 5 Pro. ESim, Samsung Pay ECG and many other features Samsung provides.

And that’s how you release a watch. Year after year, Samsung drops the ball when it comes to accuracy regarding health metrics and GPS. Ironically, they’re releasing a smart ring. I will probably go for the OP watch 2. Apple Watch is still king for fitness tracking on a smartwatch.
Great review but this goes to show that Samsung watches are sub par. They need a snap dragon 🐉 not a tweaked low performance chip. I wont purchase another Galaxy watch without 32G, at least a 590 battery 🔋. Thanks again 👍

What's everyone's problem with the battery life of these smartwatches? If it gets me through the day without any problems, I don't really care. What counts for me is the operation, whether all the UI elements are easy to read and, above all, how accurately the sensors work. What good is 4 days of battery life if the heart rate monitor only shows nonsense?

Battery sucks don't even waste your time😅 2 days with AOD and 4 days without, no workout just notifications. Advertised 13 days so I'm highly disappointed but considering I got it $30 off I'm still going to keep it.

@@mbsw28 complete lie. 2 days with always on display enabled and 4-5 days max with no always on display. I'm hoping an update fixes it.
Galaxy Fit 3 is just broken. Battery life is pretty good, but either after a few hours or a day or so heart rate data stops syncing and there's no fix. Resetting it and logging in and out and making sure everything is up to date doesn't resolve the issue and Samsung has no fix in sight. More focused on the Watch 7 release so that might be the real reason why it won't be released in the US. I'm in the US and I tried it twice but unfortunately had to send it back twice.

I'll be honest. I hate Samsung's app drawer and o equally hate that OnePlus "bubble" drawer. Here's the thing. Samsung doesn't give me another option and makes it difficult to even use a third party option. OnePlus offers the classic list view drawer and you can switch them without leaving the drawer. There's also a third grid option, also right in the drawer.
OnePlus hits it out of the park.
Can I ask why wireless charging is so beloved? I dislike it. Charging my watch from my phone is a nonstarter. I have enough trouble keeping my phone charged. Pin charging is always more efficient.
Switched from samsung watch 6 to op watch 2. Samsung watch os is sluggish..whereas oneplus watch is smooth as hell

It depends on what I want from a watch. The OP watch 2 is great for everyday use. You gain battery life and charging speed but compromise the rotating bezel and HR accuracy during interval sprints.

You know its a paid review when you use as regular galaxy watch with aluminum body to compare with the best one plus smartwatch. The classic is also stainless steel and a sapphire glass screen.
