Yeah out of everything the cable is likely to get chewed up. Being able to replace the cable is great, although I can see myself losing the small little magnetic charging piece.
There are a lot of third party adapters like that for Garmin watches. I don't know why they don't just include a first party one in the box at this point.
I'm glad a reviewer finally said what I was thinking about the non-functional spinning button. As soon as I heard that it didn't do anything, and the excuse was "it makes it more durable," I was calling BS. Why does it have the knurling which is standard on any digital crown for easier spinning? They definitely had bigger plans for that thing.
They definitely could have paired some features to the spinning. However a spinning crown would be more lenient to accidental bumps and scrapes, as it doesn't put as much stress on the component.
The point of battery saving on a smartwatch is A) To tell the time for longer, and B) having a backup cellular device should yours die. Very useful for outdoorsy types.
Cost comparisons are so tricky. Not only are they outdated within weeks (the TicWatch Pro 5 has fluctuated by as much as £100 in the last few days), but often you can get these devices for far less, if you're smart about it. I had to return my £229 TicWatch and was able to buy the OPW2 with free OP Buds 3 using coupons and such with preordering, and STILL had change left over. I've had mine for a few days now and in my use case, it's just pipping the TicWatch Pro 5 for battery life. I guess if you don't use it all the time, the benefits of the second processor outweigh not having to turn on an OLED screen. Generally is just a nicer watch all round than the TWP5 too, minus the rotating crown of course.
Yes, Meister Mobile, Michael, you are the king of narration... Another well-written video, or was it off the cuff? Great review. The OnePlus Watch 2.0 is on my left wrist now. Without AOD enabled I'm at 52% battery life, with 2 days & 3 hours left. Yeah, it was charged to 100% last night at 18:49. Okay, I did use the GPS for two workouts today for nearly two hours. I still need to give the "Power Saver" mode more testing. I was shocked to learn that O-Heath is not backing up my data in March 2024. Thanks for the entertaining, and information review.
Excellent watch. Bought for £192 here in the UK with the Buds 3 included free. Battery has been an easy 4 days+. The general every-day performance of the watch is noticeably much snappier than my previous Galaxy Watch 6 Classic also. Just a solid product.
I have absolutely no interest in the OnePlus watch 2 nor will watching the review will make me change anything in my mind. But I just cannot skip a Michael Fischer video. Whenever he uploads a video, it's like a close friend just wants to talk about tech, he's passionate about it, and you cannot wait to hang out with him.
My xiaomi's S1 has 2 crowns that are spinning without doing anything. My previous smartwatch was a Fitbit sense. I loved Fitbits until the sense started burning my wrist while sleeping (or sweating). The burn came from the charging ports. After that incident, wireless charging on smart watch is a must have for me when choosing one.
Got an update on mine too. Maybe it fixes the tracking inaccuracy people have been complaining about. All the health trackings have been on point for me. 👍
Hello, sir. May I ask. How the watch until now? The battery hold up for 3 days if we turn on AOD? How about the oHealth unable to sync data/backup data ? Is it already fix? Any notification issue ? Thanks!
As a small 1960-1970s wristwatch enthusiast. I wished for tinier wearos watches. My two favorite watches are 17 jewels 35mm with 18mm bands. My previous smartwatch was 42.
The charger is nicer than others, like the ones on some cheaper watches, but the best charging method, in my opinion, is Wireless QI. You can use your phone to charge your watch, or if you are into it, any other QI charger.
4:14 The charger that you can plugg in a USB-C is what we need. Cut back on separate cables and just use your one existing USB-C cable. (Even better smart swatches to have USB-C ports either on the watch or the wrist band so nothing else is needed)
You are not completely right that ideas came from Google. The idea is from Oppo to include messages on low power chip and Google added it to WearOS working closely with them. Apart from messages other things running on low power chip are available to other OEMs but they choose not to use them because it is easier for Samsung to release almost the same watch every year instead of innovating by creating a better and more efficient OS. Kudos to OnePlus for trying to improve things!
The crown doing virtually nothing and the health app being mid are big deal breakers for me. The pixel watch 2 has been great with that and even with the lower price, better battery life, MIL testing (which I learned of in your LG G6 review) I just need this watch to be more on point with health/exercise as it's a big part of my purchasing decisions regarding smart watches.
Okay, @1:30 you said the magic words for me! I have mine on the way tomorrow and have been describing it as having a vintage/classic look with the offset button like the OLD time watches. Hands down the best review I have seen for this watch!
Haven’t had an android smart watch for about three years. I would switch back to a Galaxy note or equivalent in s heart beat, but my spple watch works so well i can’t bring myself to. Every android watch i had had connection issues, missed notifications, not able to reply to things etc.
Doesn't leave room for improvement in the health tracking nonsense because they literally stated that this watch was meant for people who were less Fitness eccentric and wanted more of a realistic-looking timepiece where the Smartwatch features came first this is the whole reason why they added their secondary chip if you want to use it as only a fitness watch you can go into that smart mode but if you want to use it as they intended it with the minimal features they give you for Fitness you use it in the regular Smart Mode. The OnePlus 2r has been stated to be even more for the person who is a more timepiece ask where as the body is aluminum vs stainless steel or Titanium because the people that would choose to wear that watch aren't people that are doing Fitness crap spelunking mountain climbing jogging and all that other nonsense that they would probably buy a Garmin or something else for anyway. That's why I'm leaving my Galaxy watch 6 classic and going to the OnePlus watch 2r.... as I don't feel like continuously needing to pay 4 to 600 for a fancy-looking fitness watch that's just becoming less of a timepiece and more of an apple Fitness competitor than ever before and with companies like Movado fossil and Asus no longer in the game there are only a few options left to go to such as OnePlus or Huawei. As far as this watch not being dedicated solely to Fitness and more so being an actual Smartwatch timepiece is something that Oppo and its parent company have come out with and stated... so perhaps doing a little bit more homework or adding that in to the justification of the watch would have probably made at least a little bit of a difference on The View count considering the fact that there are a lot of people that are reviewing this who would like an opinion that wasn't solely based on its health and fitness features
How is the vibration strength? Many reviewers miss this and its so important. Many smartwatch wearer's like myself turn the watch speaker off and use the vibration motor for notifications and alarms.
I received this watch over the weekend. I can confirm the vibration works well for me. I have it on the higher setting but even on the lower setting it's still good imo.
Some questions: - only work with android phone? Not iPhone? - if u use bluetooth earpods you can download Spotify list and go running without bringing your phone and have tracking your route? Thanks
Whilst I mostly love this watch, the biggest problem I’ve encountered is the ‘Sleep’ mode (ie turns off raise to wake, notifications & calls) and the DND are both manually activated. There’s no schedule option so you can automate the on and off times. Inevitably I’m going to forget to manually turn them on or off and it will have consequences.
Used mine since day 1. I get like 45% more battery than my apple watch ultra. Ive smashed it many times worked out doors, ride motorcycles, wrecked dirtbikes. Still going and looks new. My favorite smart watch ever and I got it NIB for 170 from Ebay.
Whoa, Amazon wants $475 Canadian dollars for the Tic Watch. US pricing is invariable multiple times cheaper than the difference between our two dollars. I wish I knew why that is? Love the LCAR interface.
I'm sure glad that I looked at your review Michael. I was considering the OnePlus Watch 2 after having disappointing battery life on my Pixel Watch 2, but now I'm going to wait for the new Pixel Watch.
I got the oneplus watch 2 a few days ago and i like it. The health tracking works and the watch is nicer than my old fosil watch. I like the sleep tracking and so far very comfortable on the wrist
Very cool. I was intrigued when this watch was announced. I like what Google is doing with wearOS to get more battery life out of these devices. It's just hard for me to justify moving away from the Samsung offerings. All my health tracking data is in there since I've had Galaxy Watches for a couple generations now. And my Watch5 Pro gets close to 3 days of battery life for me already anyway (usually 2 days, 10 hr). I think if I were to switch away from Samsung today, it'd be to move over to Garmin. Their health and sleep tracking is better. And since they've started to put AMOLED touch screens in their newer watches, they seem to feel more like actual smart watches today than the general fitness trackers they used to feel like. I have a Forerunner 945 that I like well enough but I only ever put it on when running. No touch screen and the watch feeling so damn light on my wrist make it a non-starter for a daily wear for me.
I've got oneplus watch 2 couple days ago, and noticed the charging pic isn't as strong as it sounds when you first connect it to the watch. It easily drops off if moved/raised. Outside of that, I like it overall and owning both 1st and 2nd gen watches, it's a good upgrade.
It's funny how if you got used to spinning crown, it's essential. But I didn't, and now couldn't care less about it. I have the OPW2 but before it an Amazfit GTR 3 and I didn't even know it had a rotating crown let alone ever used it, until I watched the first vid about the OPW2 😄My 1st thought was it's a touchscreen, who cares about a dial. I do get the fingerprint saving but you're going to touch the screen for everything else anyway that's pretty null 🤷♂
Without a rotating digital crown this watch is DOA! At least for me! The bigger pixel watch 3 has my heart when it releases. Still using the original pixel watch. Battery lasts all day. Performance is fine not to mention it just feels so damn elegant!
As always I just wonder why this magnificently awesome speaker and reviewer not having subscriber beyond 10M yet!!! It's just little beyond 1M. You must do some SEO engineering, its a must. Brother, you don't deserve to have such a low number of subscribers. And the script you produce....ahh....those are extraordinarily good.
As a recent buyer of the OnePlus Open, I was so excited when I heard they were trying again with a watch. I run a lot and would love to have a smartwatch that fits seamlessly with my phone for fitness tracking. But, what's the point if I can't trust what it tells me? Disappointed by that alone. Although, a working crown would've been nice as well.
After a few runs with it on routes I know well... as of now, you can not trust it. Maybe updates will help, but I had some runs that were 400-500m off.
As someone who prefers Apple's smartwatch hardware design (I mean seriously, why would you even want a *smart* watch of all things to be anything other than a square display? A round display just wastes space for anything that isn't in the exact center of the display. Plus, a square display just looks better imo) But even so, I can still appreciate this hardware, it *looks* utterly gorgeous! My only issue is idk if this is anything I'd buy, I've never had a smart watch so maybe I don't know what I'm missing out on, but I just want a smartwatch for basically keeping track of my exercising, and maybe listening to music to display to the watch instead of constantly pulling out my phone to switch tracks. That's it. It's one of those things where I think I need to buy into a cheapo smartwatch, see what other functionality there is, and maybe I will find the hook that makes it seem worth it to spend 200, 300 on a smartwatch (which seems utterly ridiculous at the moment when my current phone is going on 4 years, having been bought at about $300) I wish I knew what major brands are creating smartwatches in the sub-$100 range, which don't look utterly horrible and cheap and tacky.
I guess if you require Wear OS, the battery life of 3-5 days is "good". My $35 Amazfit can do most of what these watches can do and lasts 2 weeks (and it's predecessor, which used a TFT display, lasted about 9 weeks when new, only reducing to about 5 weeks 4 years later). The price and battery life has spoiled me, forever precluding me to spend hundreds for watches that only last a few days.
The argument that its more durable is actully true because you do not need to have something to fix the position which could wear out over time or get stuck and its cheaper to make it that way
I'm getting 3-4 days out of this watch regularly WITH AOD ON. It's pretty remarkable. Thankfully my wrists are big enough for it cause, well, it's a beast. Anyone else find the haptics pretty weak? I find I miss a good deal of notifications due to weak haptics. Otherwise though, pretty steller timepiece.
Watch has been amazing im on day 3 with it and still 28% left. I just need a automatic bedtime mode and a automatic lock the watch at a certain time and im happy
Love your video again, Michael. High quality review and witty commentary. Love it so much. I appreciate your show the smoothness of software in your b-roll. Like swiping away notifications. Have a good one!
I wear a $15 watch so anything will be better than it. But I can take calls and it tracks steps fairly accurate. The other sensors are not great though. I plan on waiting to get the watch 3 when it launches if it keeps that dual chip set.
IMAGINE Ticwatch 6/6Pro having this dual architecture stuff.. So...Dual screen & dual architecture, COULD BE 'Dual extended' battery life (5 to 10 days?)? This could then compete with Huawei's crazy battery life on some of their smart watches 🤔😏🤞 😎🇬🇧
Or ticwatch pro 3 and ticwatch pro 5 with a software update as they both already have coprocessors. The pro 3 has an in house mobvoi designed custom coprocessor. And the pro 5 has the qualcomm one that comes with the the snapdragon w5+
+ has qualcomm's coprocessor. Ticwatch pro 5 uses the + for example. opw 2 is using a different on the market coprocessor together with the non plus w5. Presumably this is a cost saving measure.
If google could improve the battery, swipe type, and bezel size it would be amazing! I like Samsungs classic with the rotating bezel but the device could be slightly sleeker. I heard that Apple is still the best with accuracy in terms step count…
Great comeback for OnePlus watch but still falling short with some 1st gen like quirks showing once more that great hardware needs great software to bring it to life
Its still WearOS so no matter what they do - it will be meh. Yeah, it may be better then its used to be, but Google dropped the ball years ago. Smartwatches are generally not usefull as they were thought to be - and WearOS make the few things its actually usefull for even more complicated then they needed to be. I will wear my applewatch, till the day it dies(while my other smartwatches gather dust), but i am not so sure about buying an real replacement afterwards. Cheap fitness tracker have majority of functions one actually uses on smartwatch, but for small part of the price. But yeah, they look not as good as full size watches.
I'm glad I'm not the only person who could not give a rats ass about fitness info. Im still waiting for a watch maker who would focus on extending phone features to smartwatches
I'm not him, but I was deciding between the tickwatch 5 and oneplus watch 2. I liked the oneplus watch 2 more by how they look, and I don't care too much about how precise they are. From what I've heard, they can last for similarly as long on a single charge, but the oneplus watch has promised 2 years of OS softwares, and you can't be that sure with tickwatch from what I've heard. So for me, the winner is Oneplus watch 2, which I ordered three days back
For what it does and I use, I'm very pleased with this watch........more so than the Classic 6 I got and likely I'll be selling the Classic 6 and buy another OnePlus for work, so if I bet it up, it won't hurt. For $249 is a bargain and fits better on the wrist than the Classic 6 47mm.
Can you type replies via WhatsApp and SMS or is it just predefined replies? I've got the GT3 and really like the Huawei watches, I just need/want real WhatsApp replies
Dude, I was a huge fan of pocket now. It's what introduced me to podcasts. I followed you away from them but I think I need to move away from you now too. You are always so late to the party. Everyone already covered this 10 days ago. I see this pop up in my subs and I just don't have any compelling reason to watch it.
The way I see it is most people don't buy you products the day they get released. Most people wait until something happens to their all device or they have a bit of extra money and want to treat themselves. So the way I see it is most people are better off looking at a video that came out maybe a couple weeks after the devices released because that gives the content creator and more time to really review the device and come out with better understanding of the product, it's pros and cons, and produce better content. If you seriously need to watch reviews of every single tech product the moment it becomes available then there are probably better channels out there for you but then I think you're a sacrificing quality for instant and gratification
A thing I've noticed is that from all chinese oems who make smartwatches like honor, huawei, oneplus, oppo, vivo, xiaomi,...., the health app layout looks EXACTLY the same
I actually find scrolling using the screen easier. The one con i noticed right away coming from Ticwatch is that the quick toggles menu is not customizable. However I love how much customization I have in the watch faces 👍.
The problem I feel with using the touchscreen is I would likely accidentally click on a notification I didn't want to click on. With the TicWatch 5 Pro I can scroll through without accidentally clicking on anything. I'm tempted to jump ship from TicWatch and get a OnePlus Open and OnePlus Watch 2 but...there are compromises with both of those over the Samsung counterparts. Rotating crown does nothing on OnePlus Watch 2, and OnePlus doesn't really have a Dex counterpart.
@@kingzach74 The screen is large enough. Scrolling comfortably is not an issue at all and I have big hands. On a small screen like the Pixel watch, a rotating crown is a must. 👍

Without a rotating digital crown this watch is DOA! At least for me! The bigger pixel watch 3 has my heart when it releases. Still using the original pixel watch. Battery lasts all day. Performance is fine not to mention it just feels so damn elegant!
Yeah, the (lack of) digital crown is a dealbreaker for me as well. Looking forward to seeing what a big Pixel Watch looks like!
Plus, a square display just looks better imo)
But even so, I can still appreciate this hardware, it *looks* utterly gorgeous!
That's it. It's one of those things where I think I need to buy into a cheapo smartwatch, see what other functionality there is, and maybe I will find the hook that makes it seem worth it to spend 200, 300 on a smartwatch (which seems utterly ridiculous at the moment when my current phone is going on 4 years, having been bought at about $300)
I wish I knew what major brands are creating smartwatches in the sub-$100 range, which don't look utterly horrible and cheap and tacky.
Same, if it was square I'd already buy it.
7:45 I have to factory reset my Watch 4 whenever I switch phones... so nothing new
are all Android smartwatches able to access each others camera apps? can I use a oneplus watch as a viewfinder for my galaxy devce?
No
I guess if you require Wear OS, the battery life of 3-5 days is "good".
I agree. Bigger watches are better. I think Apple watch ultra is a tad small.
Which phone are you using in the video
Will you be reviewing the oneplus 12?
IMAGINE Ticwatch 6/6Pro having this dual architecture stuff.. So...Dual screen & dual architecture, COULD BE 'Dual extended' battery life (5 to 10 days?)? This could then compete with Huawei's crazy battery life on some of their smart watches 🤔😏🤞
😎🇬🇧
Or ticwatch pro 3 and ticwatch pro 5 with a software update as they both already have coprocessors.
The pro 3 has an in house mobvoi designed custom coprocessor.
And the pro 5 has the qualcomm one that comes with the the snapdragon w5+
@@j.v.b.4040 Cool! Wasn't aware of that, but yeah, Mobvoi could make better use of the battery life by combining all this tech and software... 🤔
Curious what your thoughts are of the Casio DWH5600MB G-Shock Smartwatch?
How did u lose the first device?
Youve got to be one of the most conprehensive reviewers of tech products on the e tire platform. Hands down. Kudos to you sir :)
What is the difference between W5 Gen 1 and W5+ Gen 1?
+ has qualcomm's coprocessor. Ticwatch pro 5 uses the + for example. opw 2 is using a different on the market coprocessor together with the non plus w5. Presumably this is a cost saving measure.
I miss your videos. I hope you will make more videos because recently you barely posted new ones.
Next video idea: Are More Expensive Electronics Devices Actually Better Quality ?
I'm glad I'm not the only person who could not give a rats ass about fitness info. Im still waiting for a watch maker who would focus on extending phone features to smartwatches
80 watch faces is a bummer? Whoa..
I was really hoping this was going to be a svelte watch, but the 47mm size just kills it for those of us with small wrists. Great design though.
Nice video mate! 💪😁 In your opinion Ticwatch pro 5 or oneplus watch2?
I know this is a long shot but does anyone know the watch face at 8:23 ? Thanks
I just got the one plus open and my Galaxy Watch 4 is doing just fine with it. ❤
My Huwaei Watch 4 PRO lasts 2 weeks with the AOD on all the time, or 21 days with AOD off.
Can you type replies via WhatsApp and SMS or is it just predefined replies?
I've got the GT3 and really like the Huawei watches, I just need/want real WhatsApp replies
@TMDangerMouse
You can type replys on the warch but only if its not in power saveing mode, that reduces battery life to about 3 day's.
The question is is this Watch heart rate accurate? Also it doesn’t have ecg for this price?!
If you seriously need to watch reviews of every single tech product the moment it becomes available then there are probably better channels out there for you but then I think you're a sacrificing quality for instant and gratification
all that for 3 days?
now i wonder how much it would improve with mobvoi's dual display
Need a smartwatch review? , this guy delivers!!! 🎉🎉
If only there were cellular and smaller versions....
A thing I've noticed is that from all chinese oems who make smartwatches like honor, huawei, oneplus, oppo, vivo, xiaomi,...., the health app layout looks EXACTLY the same
Wouldn't surprise me if they all used the exact same app maker.
Can you do another Chromebook or Chromebox or chromebace review?
Again a wonderful and a perfectly produced review video. Really enjoyed watching but a rotatable crown without a function...its weird.
So how did the Oneplus Watch OG improve with updates?
They added more sport modes, always on display, AI outfit for watch faces and also Added navigation to name a few
What LCARS watch face was that in the video?
I always wait for your take before buying. Many points here that I hadn't considered. ,👍
I heard the OP Watch 2 would share health data with the Android OS. Is that true?
Saved my money...that's the reason I trust your reviews
Mr Mobile ❤
The fact that OnePlus is finally being competitive again since the OnePlus 12 gives me actual hope
Does anyone know what kind of keyboard that is at 4:00 mark?
Hiya, it’s called the oneplus keyboard 81 pro. It looks to be a mechanical keyboard.
A bad app. But way better battery life than any other. With a nice large design. It's great for some. Not great for others
Seems like I should wait for the Pixel Watch 3 just to be safe.
On another topic, where do you get those LCARS watch faces?
I also want to know 😅
I would like to know what keyboard he’s using in the opening of the video!!!
I *think* that's the OnePlus keyboard
U know what i missed? Pebble watch..😂
YES! Loved the Pebble I had.
Which phone was that?
Pixel Fold
Why would you release a smartwatch with a non-functioning crown?
LOL That "dumb watch" will outlast your junky smart watch. And I find it hilarious that you find it exciting that your "smartwatch" lasts you 5 days on a charge LOL
at first glance looks better than my ultra2
Can you please review the OnePlus 12. Thank you
Picked one up for 200 bucks, at that price i dont think you can beat it.
It's beautiful, but too big for me... if the bezels were slimmer, the watch could be smaller
There was the 1st gen with their own OS. Oppo and OnePlus both replaced the OS
That is a very good looking watch! Respect to oneplus for giving it some character
