Great guide. Only thing Im still not convinced to is spending 1 point in Tidal Force. I've been talking to decent Lordearon shaman who's farming LOD, done 12/12HC , ToGC50/50 and so on(everything on Lordearon not Icecrown where everything is easy) and he basicly said something like: "ok so with high endgame base crit, you got like 50% to waste 1 talent point every 3 minutes. I'd rather take that extra spellpower, even tho its not much". And I cant disagree with him
why do people believe lord is harder? listen lord metas are dumb. If hes any kind of good he would understand why tidal force is better. almost all of your heals as a shaman are going to overheal and thus be a waste of 15 spell power anyways. Tidal force is so much better for those times where you need that boost to cover lets say for example your hpal or disc getting picked up on valks to proc AA, top that tank off, cover those infest targets, when you need that boost tidal force is by far superior to 15 spell power, its ability to give you almost 100% crit chance for all its charges and how crit works in conjunction with your abilities makes it a much better pick up. so the times where that 15 spell power would be actually useful, tidal force is even more useful, do you understand how getting a crit with HW to top a near dead tank off, procing AA, tidal waves, is going to be more valuable vs 15 more spell power not to mention that its going to take forever for that 15 spell power to outgain that crit you got by using tidal force. listen teamy can explain this far better than i can(i think me and him had this very discussion about a year ago and i covered it in a video but cant recall) in terms of comparing the stat differences, of getting TF vs not but it shouldent take a rocket scientist to figure out why TF is way more useful vs 15 spell power. we are all sick and tired of hearing these new "lord metas" listen, lord is the exact same as IC, bosses do the same damage, over half of them have the same or very close HP (gs, dbs, pp, bql, vdw, sindy, lk, halion) in fact LK and halion (two hardest bosses) are the exact same everything in comparison to IC. your average lord player has no idea about that. The real difference is lord is forced to 0 buff and IC players can do either 30% or 0%. so stop with the "everything is easy on icecrown" vs lord, buff or no buff wont change the meta. Frostmourne season 1, which has the same exact HP values as lord, killed 0 buff LoD in ToGC and normal ICC gear. Lord players think that for whatever reason damage is higher or that bosses that are trash like marrowgar or festergut and others, having more HP actually means its harder lol. Its still the same rotations with the same damage. 2mil hp more on a boss is like 10 seconds of dps or less if in an execute phase and its on bosses that are a joke anyways. ill never understand lord players thinking that they are somehow superior or that they somehow have to do anything different in comparison when it comes to the gear set up or rotations. There is no difference in the realms that matters. You have players on frostmourne killing lod in less gear with same everything as lord minus xp rates. yet youve got lord players out here trying to change the meta or making up crazy theories that bc there is more hp on a boss they will change their rotation from the meta. insanity. please for the love of god, yes we all know most icecrown 30% buff players are retarded and you should ignore them. but you should also ignore these crazy ideas that somehow the meta is different on lord. we have all had to defend these dumb ideas or theories (mind you most of them never have reasoning or math that makes any sense which i love) in our guides.
15 SP is how much? Less than 1 big gem and slightly more than a half gem that provides spell power? This is just enough reason to win this debate. Considering that 90%+ of the time this extra spell power will go into overheal makes it just not worth it at all. Shaman lacks coodlowns and this is one of his biggest weaknesses. Although Tidal Force is not a S-Tier cooldown every shaman felt at least one time in situation "Oh, man if I could crit now he could survive...". I won't again repeat the obvious secondary benefits from Tidal Force and etc. which I have already mentioned in the video. I know it's one more button and I'm sure this is the main problem for most shamans but it is what it is. I know Tidal Force requires reaction, proper macros and sense of how to use it but again this is what it is. I have no problem with how other shamans play the game, but please, don't come here and pretend that 15 SP is superior when it is obviously not. Thank You!
@@Redemptionproject09 just asking. No idea why you went into furious teenage mode :D but about realms - its not only HP. Its dps done to bosses too. Me and other guy who have almost same gear were argueing why my DPS is so much lover on Lorda. He checked my rotation and couldnt anwser. Then we checked base melee DMG from weapon swing. They are also 30% less on Lordearon. Cry as much as you want but if you wanna prove something - play there
@@darkmemer1353 its not only player damage, but also their health and healing done. everything. so no matter how you look at it, yes, Lordearon is harder
@@darkmemer1353 bro...if you got butthurt that's your problem. I'm simply explaining how and why lord players are dumb and why 15 spell power > tidal force is retarded. It legit takes no skill to understand why tidal force is better. Dps done to bosses? What? It's the same dps if your using the same gear and the same rotation. Not a clue what you are on about. We have compared logs with one of the top guilds on lord more than once and many of us play both realms. If there is a dps difference it's due to rng or not playing your class correct. Has zero to do with difference in realms. I swear, every week it's something new with lord players...smh If it's 30% less than he's probably playing with the buff while your not... Again, zero buff is an option on icecrown. Stop with the "you should play there" crap. I have. There is zero difference on 0 buff minus the HP of bosses that don't even matter. I have the proof and the logs which I've shown in videos and it's been confirmed by people who play both realms as well. Idk how many times we have to go over this before lord players stop with the lies and the bullshit. It's seriously old and annoying that you guys refuse to do math or compare things properly then make dumb comments and when we call you out or show you detailed logs y'all want to act like it's drama or something instead of us being fed up having to show you stuff you should be able to learn on your own by comparing logs. Your heals, dps, all of it is going to be the same of you are playing on 0 buff across all realms. There is zero math and zero logs to prove otherwise. Stop with the nonsense.
Great guide, but one thing on spell haste, the main reason why we focused haste, was to get that one extra riptide tick. As it allows for two riptides to tick simultaneously. And as someone who had Trauma 25HC, I can tell you, it procs far more, trauma + t-set hots and I was out hotting dudus left and right, just saying.
@@Cheffe919 it's true, haste did not give extra ticks to anything in wrath, only shortened the total duration so the ticks would happen faster, shorter duration was changed to extra ticks in cata. I may be misunderstanding you though.
Blood Fury got reworked in Wotlk so it increases only the spell damage aka it increases only Bonus Damage spell power. It doesn't affect healing unless Blizzard decides to make some shenanigans in Wrath Classic.
@@milchev80 yeah I’m sorry but I don’t think that’s correct. All of our Resto shamans are orc and sync up their blood fury with their essence or 2 min trinket CDs for bonus power. They didn’t suddenly take that away in wrath, they just changed the way healing Vs spell power work. You still get 163 bonus SP at 80, but the healing coefficients changed so it’s not a fantastic healing trinket, but still gives your heal a little extra kick for 15 seconds.
@@CubicleJoe Ok. I mean I don't really trust private servers on this so I guess I will wait for Classic to be sure. If you have some really accurate source from retail to show me I will edit it immediately. On Warmane it did provide just bonus damage, recently I saw it affect also bonus healing. Anyway I already made 1 pinned comment where I can edit misinformation in the guide. Thanks anyway :)

Bro i want to be more try hard, can u tell me wich talents should i have only for valithria? cuz i always losses to Hpala , can u tell me some tactics pls
Bump for this question pls teamy. its been 3 months and no response Is it better to go for higher HEP pieces or always prioritize set pieces first and ignore the higher HEP value pieces. example for t7 chest Tunic of the Artifact Guardian has 347 HEP and the set chest 213 ilvl Valorous Earthshatter Tunic has 321.8 HEP. Should i replace ignore getting set pieces and focus on higher HEP items ?
Hi mate! I am new with resto shaman. Can you explain why you didn't take the talent Nature's Guardian? It sounds like something that can keep me alive, esp. with beginner gear.
This is a PvP talent not PvE. With low gear it would provide you with ~3k additional health while you drop below 30% health. Waste of 3 points when you can just heal yourself to full? Not only that you have nothing to sacrifice for it but also This talents has some slim chance to safe you in 1 situation per 10 raids.
I am somewhat surprised how alchemy didnt make it to the professions. Will be mana potions expensive ? the alchemist stone also seems pretty good in phase1 to get more mana from pots, not sure if it works with the injector? But the endless mana potion seems like a great tool, when you dont want to spend gold on the pot, but just spam it in non crucial situations.
Hello there. Alchemy is a good profession for very early game if you want to make fast gold or consumables. Speaking from healing point of view Alchemy provides you with nothing more compared to JC. If you compare the +spell power increase for flask and Alchemy Stone against the +haste you gonna get from JC gems and Je'Ze'Bell for example you will notice that the difference is negligible. The thing is that soon or later you will most likely be forced to swap to JC as a second profession as long as you want to stay competitive because JC is just more flexible and versatile profession. Also Alchemy Stone will last in T7 until mid T8 at best as a trinket option. That being said this is the reason why I didn't mention Alchemy as a profession at all. But ofc if you aim for farming gold on your main character then go for Alchemy. In Wrath, the bonuses from professions are more impactful compared to TBC but overall the difference in bonuses between each viable profession is mediocre. About the Stone trinket we have to make more tests but the trinket will most likely equal about ~30 mp5 depends on the duration of the fight. The difference is that in order for alchemy trinket to actually work you have to use potion where this is not the case with mp5 procs from trinkets. And I would say in early game farming Runic Mana Potions (or mats for its crafting) would be really hard requiring time investment.
@@milchev80 but using pots is a must for speed runs or is it not ? The biggest benefit of alchemy in my eyes is the the endless mana potion that never runs out. You get a free pot that is worse than runic mana pots, but than you save a ton of money and farming.
do you know if Embrace of the Spider proc of chain heal? i got it since i played elemental the whole time in wrath. but i am gonna offheal in ulduar. i know the egg of mortalessence proc of chain heal, but they dont have the same tooltip.
Hey bro, Nice video, the best guide for Resto Shamy. Question, for WoTLK Classic, do you think MP5 will have more value on phase 1? because the encounters are supposed to be longer than vanilla wotlk. Also between enchantment and tailoring, which one do you recommend for the second profession? Taking in consideration that the profession will also works as the gold maker for the engineering (no secondary character) Thanks!
For stats seems almost the same when used with engineering. Enchant 46 sp from rings + 27 sp from eng enchant on clock= 73 Tailoring 70sp~73sp on clock
I had a feeling this guide was wrong. Spirit is a dead stat for both hpala/rshamn simply because they have 0 talents benefit from spirit, and regeneration from sprit is basically null when compared to crit. Stat Priority for Resto Shammy is Intellect/SP/Haste/Crit/Mp5. Your mana regenerates from critical heals
Did you even listen to the guide? Your comment makes absolute no sense and basically kinda repeats the video. Next time when you type something like "I had feeling this guide was wrong" just timestamp parts of the guide you feel are wrong so we can discuss them. For example I see absolutely no reason for you to mention that spirit is a dead stat for shaman as even the 5 years old playing Wow knows this...and on top of that it is also said in the video.
@@phoenix21studios And yet you continue with spirit debate where it clearly says in the video you have to avoid it. @12:52. Everything you typed in your op comment was clearly said in the video. On top of that by checking the HEP values did you see in the video somewhere HEP for spirit?
@@milchev80 honestly I didnt watch to much of the video because of the robot voice being annoying, I just used your video as a reference to tweek my Shammy i had not been on in 8 months. I skipped to Stats and see you listed first and second slot as Intellect and Spirit. I am in the wrong for not actually watching the video with the robot voice but dont you think its a bad idea to list Spirit as number 2 stat when you are also telling people to avoid it? I wonder how many people did the same as me and just scrolled threw your video scanning the slideshow and they see Spirit as the number 2 most important stat for resto shammy. I would not have listed Spirit with as number 2 if you dont want it to be used as a resto shammy stat.
@@phoenix21studios I still see you don't read and fully understand the whole point. The selection of stats explaining has nothing to do with their priority. If you have been listening the video you should understand that I've splited them on primary and secondary stats and this is why spirit appears as a second on the list. However explaining how spirit works is more as a scient purpose so people can understand why it's useless. The priority of stats I've been giving are based on HEP system, so my question again is - do you see somewhere HEP value for spirit? Anyway you had to stop your previous comment with "I was wrong because I didn't watch the video cause of the robotic voice"... and btw you should listen to some really robotic voice to see what means robotic. English is not my native language to speak so I had to use TTS and this is the only voice that I found that comes close to human voice. In the end your attitude by arguing for things you didn't even listen to insults a creator who spend 6 months to make this video and provide you and the whole community with detailed and in-dept information about Resto Shaman. Have a nice day!
Tbh if you are going for melee group you should always consider at least 1 DK (tank or dps) who gives 20% melee haste and Horn of Winter. Unless you are specced into Enhancing Totems, then you can use Strength of Earth Totem otherwise you leave it to the DK and you use standard Stoneskin Totem. I mean for all years Ive been playing this game Ive never fall in situation to have numerous melees in a raid and not a single DK included.
Could you reupload the warmane guide thread you used to have which now contains a link or put it on discord? Super useful to have ctrl + f for quick info. Ty a lot again!
I will do it as I will fully update my written version of the guide but in a bit later stage. Currently we are working on Resto Druid guide and we have still much work to do. However you still have access to my old guide from this link web.archive.org/web/20180227082127/forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=323638
No offense man But can u explain me how u calculate HEP bcs when i use ur stata for int 0.8 haste 2.2 crit 1.3 heal pow 1 I cannot get same HEP numbers in calculator as u do Pls explain..
HEP in the calculator are based on 100% healing done and not a bit of overhealing. Something you will never achieve in a raid. That being said the more overhealing you have the more haste becomes valuable because additional spell power translates into overhealing. For the guide I made additional calculations based on the numbers from the calculator and average healing profile from several logs including overhealing factor.
Ok, lemme be more precise with some example so you can understand me better. As you know each stat is equivalated to spell power and spell power is normalized to value of 1. That being said if you get this numbers in the calculator: Intellect = 0.4 Mp5 = 0.4 Spell Power = 1 Crit = 0.7 Haste = 1.1 What would happen if instead I normalize Spell Power to value of 2. Well each stat get doubled or: Intellect = 0.8 Mp5 = 0.8 Spell Power = 2 Crit = 1.4 Haste = 2.2 After I've cleared this let's do now opposite. With a 50% overhealing logically the effective value of spell power becomes from 1 to 0.5. Then we would get: Intellect = 0.4 Mp5 = 0.4 Spell Power = 0.5 Crit = 0.7 Haste = 1.1 But we want to keep the value of spell power normalized to 1 for a better sensibility. And finally we get: Intellect = 0.8 Mp5 = 0.8 Spell Power = 1 Crit = 1.4 Haste = 2.2 Or if I recall this are about the HEP values I've given for T10.
Little question, if Trauma is not really that good of a weapon and it has an impact close to or below 1% of your total healing would that not apply as well to Althor's Abacus?
Hello there. The thing is Abacus is the second best throughput trinket after GTS and the best one pre-RS giving huge amount of spell power. If mana is an issue then Solace is the next best option.
Кой add-on използваш за да следиш райд групите в края и да heal-ваш? Харесва ми начина по който е направен да показва earth shield-a, hand of sacrifice, sould reaper и т.н.
@@milchev80 looking for the same for hpala! ;) I'll have maybe one advice - if you can synchronize the things you show on the screenm with what you're talking about. Except that it's excellent.
25 man = chain heal, earthshield, earthliving weapon 10 man = depends on composition. if you are needing to do a lot of aoe healing, do this: chain heal, earthshield, healing stream totem if you are primarily a tank healer, do this: earth shield, lesser healing wave, healing stream totem
i love mana tide totem!!! UwU nyaa~ when me and my homies are thirsty i drop my big girthy totem like kyaaaa~~!! and totem-kun sprays my lovelies in lots and lots of nice liquids like teheehee~!! OwO Totem-kun is shy but I wuv him!!! UwU ^_^/
Hello there. I recommend Grid2 as it has more friendly user interface and settings. Vuhdo is a bit complicated but also a good add-on. Healbot is the most limited when it comes to options but easy to setting. When it comes to UI, it depends on whether or not you want to cometely change Blizzard' UI (then go for ElvUI), or you want to change just action bars. In this case you can try Dominos as the add-on is really easy to setup and also uses less memory.
The only thing i disagree in the video is with AoE glyphs, my HPS is going to be much higher if i take glyph of Healing Stream Totem than Earthliving weapon. on 4000 Spell power my Earthliving hits for 744 per tick while totem hits 600 per tick {tick happens} every 3 seconds. I think it is much better to keep the Healing Stream Totem glyph in 25 man content simply because it is near imposibble to keep Earthliving weapon proc on every raid member, while totem just does that passively without the shaman even concetrating on that. Glyph of Earthliving weapon is more suitable in 10 man content because there it is accualy doable and manageable to keep the buff on raid members 90% of the time. Only bad thing with healing totem is when shaman is droping mana tide for 12 seconds and even then i still think earthliving weapon cannot outheal totem healing. Correct me if i am wrong about something but i think its not worth it to take Earthliving Weapon Glyph in 25 man content {SPECCIALY FOR BQL HC, FESTER HC} And other hard aoe healing fights. ^^
In my opinion you listen nothing from glyph part of the video or simply didn't pay attention. In additional read again your comment specifically the first sentences cause I think you mess the both healing sources. However it's not about how much your HST or Earthliving heal but how much the glyphs itself will contribute. HST will heal only healer's group (cause you are in the healer's group) and the glyph itself which is 13.7% flat increase (not 20%) will basically go into overheal. On the other side Glyph of EL is ride wide and will increase your uptime not amount of healing considering that you have 90%+ uptime of CH spam which I did also covered in the video. On BQL 25 for example GoEL > GoHST. That has been tested hundreds of times by me by using different combination of spells to see how the proc rate of EL goes. I don't know how you went with conclusion that GoEL is better in 10 man content considering that CH is much unefficient in terms of hitting 4 targets all the time where HST will constantly hit half of your raid which makes it superior in such a content. In the end of the day both glyphs contribute to much lower gain comparing with GoCH and GoES on 25 man AOE fights. If you want more detailed prove type me in discord and we can discus this. In additional you can use my calculator and see for yourself. Don't forget to apply raid buffs when checking.
You should try and play as Spellhance Healer. You attack the boss with dual wield, and chain heal with maelstrom stacks. It actually works pretty well. Not top heals, but you will be very surprised on what it can do. Put just enough points to get maelstrom, then dump rest into resto. Gear is alot like normal spellhance, but with a few more pcs of spell gear, and healing trinkets and chain heal totem. It's a very fun and rewarding way to play
I and a friend are currently working and developing a Resto Druid guide which will be uploaded in another UA-cam channel but I will add a link when the guide is rdy.
In Raids with other healers (25 man) You never, ever cast Healing Wave. If you look at warcraft logs, the only shaman heal with is Chain heal and rip tide. Talent "Healing Way" Is purley wasted in Raids.
@@milchev80 for some reason the import string is not working for me, it says "...unknown decompression method (0)" any idea why? i am sorry if this is an idiotic question, i am new to this.
A lot of bad information rofl. "1% haste does not make you cast 1% faster but you get to cast 1 more spell in the time it takes to cast 100 of those spells." I think you gotta re-learn some math my friend. So for 1% That's the same thing. And it does in fact reduce the cast of each individual spell by the said amount. The amount of casts you gain slides dependant on how much % you have. IE if you have 20% haste, 1% haste still gives you 1%. But the ammount that gets cast scales down because now you're getting 1 spell in 120 instead of 100. So that statement is false.
Xaxa. If you cast 1% faster this means at 100% haste your cast time would be 0.000s. So let's make the math. Shall we? Your Chain Heal has 2.5s base cast time. 100 spells would take you 250 seconds to cast. Now add 20% haste for example. So now you will cast 120 spells for 250 seconds or 250/120 = 2.083 sec cast time. Why don't you chech if I'm right? Xaxa
@@milchev80 I think you are correct in your understanding of the mechanics, just a little confused on semantics. Speed refers to a rate of occurrence per unit of time (i.e. casts per minute), NOT the time it takes to complete a cast. If you were to reduce your cast TIME by 100%, that would indeed give you a 0s cast time, but that is not the same as increasing your casting SPEED by 100%. Casting 100% faster means you are casting twice as fast, and therefore cast time is halved.
I won't listen to a robot. You'd probably get more views if you didn't use text to "voice". I know no one likes hearing their own voice, but you should give it a try.

I swear, every week it's something new with lord players...smh
If it's 30% less than he's probably playing with the buff while your not...

Best guide ever :O
Great guide, but one thing on spell haste, the main reason why we focused haste, was to get that one extra riptide tick. As it allows for two riptides to tick simultaneously.
And as someone who had Trauma 25HC, I can tell you, it procs far more, trauma + t-set hots and I was out hotting dudus left and right, just saying.
Thanks but you are very wrong on this. This is Cataclysm mechanic not Wotlk.

@@milchev80 agree to disagree, the extra tick on riptide was absolutely a thing, as was the HoT power of rest shamans with the right gear.

Blood Fury SP increase does affect your healing spells. That's some surprising misinformation for an overall fantastic guide.

@@milchev80 That makes sense. Thank you for such a quick response. You are very kind! I will make sure to set up my talents the way you did. 🙂

Taking in consideration that the profession will also works as the gold maker for the engineering (no secondary character)
Thanks!
For stats seems almost the same when used with engineering.
Enchant 46 sp from rings + 27 sp from eng enchant on clock= 73
Tailoring 70sp~73sp on clock
@@milchev80 I have edited my comment to be easier to understand.
Is 4 piece tier 7 worth taking? Or should I just use offset peaces which are better?
Bravo!
Let's say you have a party that consist of all melee. Should we be doing strength of earth totem and windfury totem? -Thanks

No offense man
But can u explain me how u calculate HEP bcs when i use ur stata for int 0.8 haste 2.2 crit 1.3 heal pow 1
I cannot get same HEP numbers in calculator as u do
Pls explain..
That being said if you get this numbers in the calculator:
Intellect = 0.4
Mp5 = 0.4
Spell Power = 1
Crit = 0.7
Haste = 1.1
What would happen if instead I normalize Spell Power to value of 2. Well each stat get doubled or:
Intellect = 0.8
Mp5 = 0.8
Spell Power = 2
Crit = 1.4
Haste = 2.2
After I've cleared this let's do now opposite. With a 50% overhealing logically the effective value of spell power becomes from 1 to 0.5. Then we would get:
Intellect = 0.4
Mp5 = 0.4
Spell Power = 0.5
Crit = 0.7
Haste = 1.1
But we want to keep the value of spell power normalized to 1 for a better sensibility. And finally we get:
Intellect = 0.8
Mp5 = 0.8
Spell Power = 1
Crit = 1.4
Haste = 2.2
Or if I recall this are about the HEP values I've given for T10.
Wait, orc Command doesnt effect totems?
Little question, if Trauma is not really that good of a weapon and it has an impact close to or below 1% of your total healing would that not apply as well to Althor's Abacus?
Hello there. The thing is Abacus is the second best throughput trinket after GTS and the best one pre-RS giving huge amount of spell power. If mana is an issue then Solace is the next best option.

Amazing Video 💖 i love it. 1 question . Whats are the best addons ? Grid2 or Healbot and interface. Dominos . Elvui ? Thansk am a new player

Xaxa
To understand better you can watch this video - ua-cam.com/video/sRE3j79zadU/v-deo.html
