The Ride1Up Core 5 eBike is pretty great, but it's not perfect. This video details 7 things I personally dislike about the Core-5 electric bike, as well as a handful of things I love about the ride1up ebike. I posted a full ride1up core 5 review detailing the specs and facts, as well as some of my opinions of this electric bike here: • Ride1Up Core 5 Electri...
Great to see impressions of this bike that aren't too sugarcoated. Appreciate your honesty here man!
thanks for the review, appreciate it! a couple questions, with the seat lowered do you think someone 5'3" could ride or would the step thru be the move? also, I wanted to confirm that the charger can charge the battery outside of the bike?
great review . they make seatpost adapter shims for those thinner posts. people DIY shim the gap too with a soda can . i got a fave saddle myself
True the grips do twist on my bike too. Also it does charge a little bit on the slow side. I am thinking about getting a faster charger from Amazon. You may want to purchase the larger capacity battery so you have two. Carry one on your back rack for the extra long rides. For going up the steps put your bike in walk assist, that will help a lot.
Hi Mark do you have the Core 5?..,if so how is it… thanks!!
If you were to apply several layers of car wax to the paint would that help with the scratches and chipping?
You need to compare this bike to other $1,100 bikes. I’m pretty happy with my core 5 and the value/price.
Hi Timothy! I have a question as I’m looking at the core 5. Do you think it’s a good bike overall or just a good bike for the price? Please do let me know… thanks and God bless you !!!
Could you review the new Radster Road? I think people who are riding the core would love an upgrade to the Radster Road
Nice review, how tall are you out of curiosity? Wondering if it would be suitable for someone 6' tall and is it more of an upright cruiser?
thank you, I'm 6'5", you'll fit fine on this bike at your height, even I fit on it. It's kind of like an athletic geometry, not aggressive like a road bike, but not laid back like a cruiser, kind of in the middle. I feel it work my quads more compared to my road bike. it's been great, hope this helps.
Hi Jason ! Did you get the core 5? If so how is it… thanks!!
@@bernievassallo3336 After tons of research, reviews and test rides, I ended up getting an Avanton Level and love it! Unfortunately, was not able to ride a Core 5 which made it un-easy to decide being a "hands-on" kind of guy.
Are the other competitor bikes with a quieter motor? Is it quieter at lower pedal assist levels?
There are definitely bikes with quieter motors. Yes the motor makes noise in proportion to how hard you are pushing it, so if you use it lightly it is more quiet then heavy throttle
@@TailHappyTV thanks! Is there a certain kind of motor to look for that is quieter without getting super expensive? What brand bikes?
Good info! How do you like the West Coast?
thanks man, been loving it out here, hope you're doing well!
@@TailHappyTV that's great to hear! I see your exercise and biking comtent has really taken off! I have been looking for an e-bike, and like your reviews. I used to ride motorcycles, but gave it up because it's too dangerous. I think an e-bike would give you the same sensation but in a much safer way. I'd like to take it on back country roads and view all of the nice scenery, on an e-bike.
I think it's great that some of your GT500 videos have over a million views 😎!!
May I ask how tall you are? You look pretty tall, does the bike feel big enough? I am 6 feet 1 inch, wondering if the bike is ok for me... Thank you for your video!
I’m 6’5”, I think you’ll be happy with it at your height, it works fine for me
i'm 6'5" 250 will i fit comfortably on core 5, its not a very big bike and want a less agressive more upright ride
Check out my himiway cruiser review, I think it will be a good fit for you
That’s purely based on your size. If you’re looking for closer to a road bike feel maybe the Kbo. Check out my roundup video here it may be beneficial : ua-cam.com/video/n90gySD5FG0/v-deo.html
Can you tell me if the saddle you put on it is available on Amazon and if it could go on a spin bike??
Thanks
here's the saddle amzn.to/3NEWyYg (very similar, they make a ton of variations), bike saddle's are universally compatible with any real bike or indoor stationary bike. Hope this helps!
Just curious, but IS there a bike that charges in 20-40 minutes, like, at all? I feel like a bike that charges in 20 minutes would die in 5 seconds lol
FYI they just quietly updated the battery this month to a 12.8ah battery, from the 10.4ah.
I heard this rumor, did you get one with the larger battery? Is it the same price?
@@TailHappyTV I got one on order right now. I initially tried to order one on sale (the old inventory) and it switch price on me right in the middle. E-mailed customer service and they indicated this was the change for the new model, and they ran out of old inventory.
Website has now been updated also. I guess they were waiting for all the old modes to sell before making the switch.
I’m honestly surprised I haven’t seen it highlighted/advertised.
@@superlomi4685 Thank you for the update I’m going to look into it, how much did you pay out of curiosity if you don’t mind?
@@TailHappyTV I paid list price, minus a $40 coupon
The website currently advertises a 12.8ah battery, if you get something different they have the obligation to give you what was advertised or get sued.
What seat is that? I need that in my life. 🤣
cloud 9 :)
The noise on mine is negligible, hardly noticeable or annoying. He must have put the mic right up to the motor.
Mine doesn't sound like that at all.
Hello… I wanted ask if you are happy with your core 5?… thanks!!
This ebike has been discontinued. No longer available.
Sooooo you're being deliberately misleading with your video title and what it implies
Yeah I'm not gonna watch a video like that, sorry mate. If you're giving consumer advice, be better than that.
You’re right, this video sucks. I’d like to believe my current review style has improved. The Core 5 is great, I have a brand new unannounced Ride1up bike review coming soon
@@TailHappyTV I wouldn't say it sucks as a video, but maybe just give it a new title and thumbnail along the lines of "pros and cons". Sorry if I came across as excessively harsh, that wasn't fair, particularly since you opened the video with "I actually really like it, but it's not perfect"
Heads up to everyone!
You do not want a fast charger for any electric battery! The faster you charge a battery the more heat is created…which reduces the life cycle of the battery.
Replacement batteries can cost $500 to $1000 depending on the battery, so the slow charger he was complaining about is actually a great charger and thanks to the bike company for supplying it.
