I found an issue with the seat post, its the water bottle cage mounting screws. When tightened, they impinge on the seat post making it difficult to adjust and scratch the post. Shorter fasteners are needed.
Bought the same bike for $629, including shipping + tax. I assembled it for 40 minutes. It’s a good looking bike and it takes me up a steep incline easily. It slows down when I stop pedaling. It goes as fast as 20 mph, which is fast. The seat and the grips are not comfortable and will be upgraded. At the price point, it’s a decent e-bike.
Enjoy your reviews Scott .. My girl is only 5ft 2inch . She is concerned that it might be too big for her. Have you asked anyone shorter than 5ft 4 inch to ride it ? thanks
I am 5'6 and my feet don't touch the ground flat. I lean the bike a little and that works for me. I didn't raise the seat either it is all the way down. So I have no idea if post is messed up with scratches.
It has been a while since I did this review. I'm sorry, I don't remember how I did it. Here is the mirror info: Hafny Bar End Bike Mirror 68 Diameter: amzn.to/3UBk8rn
So i bought one it just came today and so far I'm trying to turn it on and a green light turns on for a little then turns off ive been having it charge for maybe an hour or 2 what am i doing wrong
That was a very helpful review. Am considering this bike, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. It seems to be off to a good start, but I wonder if they can keep it up.
Yeah. I try to be very thorough with my reviews but I never how some of these bikes last in the haul as I can't keep them all and end up selling them as I don't have the room for 20+ bikes.
Well, I did buy it. The bike arrived quickly, with no obvious damage, and I was able to assemble it with no issues. There was a bit of front brake rub which I adjusted. All went well with riding the bike except for the PA. When peddling with the PA off and going at a low speed and then going to PA 1 or on to PA 2 nothing happens at first. Then PA kicks in briefly with a noticeable lurch forward and then the PA suddenly ends. Am I using the PA incorrectly? AB describes their bikes as using Smart Sensors, not the usual cadence or torque type. I can see the magnet ring on the rear hub, but nothing like a sensor there. However, the throttle does work. And since the bike does a quick, rapid, and short acceleration when the PA is turned on, the sensor must be there somewhere. I am wondering if the sensor could be incorporated into the motor. I am a novice to Ebikes and wonder if you know what these smart sensors are and where I could learn more about them. I have reached out to AB and they are responsive, but my experience so far is that their CS only refers one to their manual, which is a nice glossy print manual, but it needs much improvement. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
Hmmmm.... I didn't have any of those issues. My PA worked the first time I rode it with no issues. It does sound like something is not quite right when it comes to what you said oppose to what I have experienced. I hope CS helps you get it figured out.
@@hkchild8hey did your problem got resolved? Even i bought this bike And might be facing a similar issue, i wanted to know at what gear are you using pedal assist ?
nice review. Really thinking about this one to replace my radmission since it's 550 right now. I'm also in chicago and really missing having a bike since it's so hot
Again, thanks for your help with my PA problem. I was able to resolve it thanks to some information found on a review giving the PA set upper speeds. If this had been in their manual, there would have been no problem, but as a novice it is something I needed.
Just bought an Actbest E-bike. It's great so far. My biggest challenge is how heavy it it. I live on the top floor in my apartment complex. It's not easy trying to lug it up a narrow flight of stairs. Not something I can carry one handed. I may sell it and buy a folding e-bike from Actbest. Saw one on Amazon for about the same price.
Hey Scott! I love the video and i definetly subscribed to the channel. Quick quesrion though, around how much do gou weigh? Considering this bike but i do have somw hills ro commute through and i weigh around 250. I want to make sure itll work for me.

Hey Dude, I'm looking for a "affordable" ebike and I love the review you made on this bike. You look about 5'10 maybe 5'11. I'd say about 185lbs. Did the bike feel at all small? What did you think about the 26" tires though? I went from 27.5" a few years ago to a 29er. I really need an ebike and it's even hard to find a 27.5. Is the tire size a issue ya figure? Thanks
I am 225lbs and 5'9". This bike is on verge of feeling small to me. Overall I think the bike is decent budget bike for sure. I like taller wheels on commuters so I was good with the size of the tires. For me, the tire size was not an issue.
Cool. you look taller and thinner in the video... Haha Thanks to your review I found this lovely lady " Actbest Race Electric Bike " 27.5 " tires and amazing specs. @@scotthardesty that is good in case my battery dies. Someone stole my normal bike then destroyed it. So I brought the Core on Amazon. I got it in blue. So far PA 3 is the fastest I can go and feel in control.
If I didn't show you in the video, I can't remember at this point. I have reviewed too many bikes after this one to remember. Try reaching out to the company to see if they can tell you.
That sounds too expensive for me, no thanks. Was expecting the price of that entire bike to be under $350 USD considering its specs. I would buy it for $319 but definitely not for $749. Actbest tends to overstate their range, realistically you would get 12 miles of range per charge NOT 50 miles. I wouldn’t buy a bike with a weak 36V battery for $749 that’s too much money. It seems more and more, companies are using the MAX watts that come from the motor instead of the nominal output. This is one of those companies.
I have a 2nd bike that is advertised at 350kW but it feels more powerful than this bike. Having said that, it is still darn good.
