They did such a good job with the knife. It's the exact same lock parts. I took it apart and compared. You can ask flytanium to add a whole on the other side for left hand carry.
The Arcade looks amazing! Demko lock, really nice materials, and much more reasonable price point. I like the more traditional stylings, too. This should be really popular for folk who have wanted to try a shark lock design, but didn't gravitate towards Demko designs.
FYI!!! Flytanium will adjust the clip mounts for lefties. you just have to request it when ordering.. same goes for all their scales. mentions in their product descriptions
I've lost 7 of my 10 fingers to locks on knives failing and the blade coming down and chopping off my fingers. Maybe this shark lock will finally be the knife I need. It took me 20 minutes to type this with 3 fingers.
That Arcform Theory!!!! Omg. That thing is clean!!! Well done indeed!! The Arcade. Man. Gotta get one. Also, Fly will mode the scales for left-handed carry. Or at least they do on everything else they sell. Reach out, I am sure they will.
I like the look of the AD20.5, but I think I like the Arcade just a little bit more. But, I wonder if Flytanium might make other blade shapes down the line which might be worth waiting for. Still, most of all, the more shark and other finger safe locks, the better.
Shame I didn't make my own suggestion, but, similarly, a reverse tanto harpoon would be cool, and apparently is a thing that We, Kershaw, and Rick Henderer have done.
Been carrying it for a day or so. Mine came bone dry but after some lube works well. The 200 bucks seems a bit steep for aluminum, especially when the scales are so sharp around the edges, got discolored by some money in my pocket, and if you are keeping the pocket clip righty only why is it not inset into the scale? It really gives me Civivi feelings of quality, solid, but not 200+ bucks. That said, I do like the design and I do prefer it to my AD20.5.
I LOVE blades but I just can't seem to get into folders. I carry a cheap Boker Kalashnikov for small tasks but it doesn't really mean anything to me its just an automatic knife that's easy to deal with. I have yet to find ANY folder that gets me excited about owning/carrying it or even having to use it. As for fixed blades I adore them, I edc a Fallkniven F1 X or S1 Pro while working and for leisure I carry a Bark River Aurora Stag Horn in 3V. Those knives I'm proud to carry and just make me happy holding and using them. I'd love to find a folder that makes me feel that way!
The only way to get into folding knives is to just.... get into it. There are folders that look like fixed blades. You could always try one of those to see if it sparks any interest. The reason I find folders so compelling is because there are near limitless designs. Everything from fidgety locks like the shark lock to axis/crossbar and button lock flippers. Exotic materials like zircuti and damasteel really spruce up the usual Plain Jane folding knife into something amazing. And of course the biggest reason I like folding knives is the portability. No sheath needed and it clips right in your pocket. Perhaps if you could handle a quality folder with good action and an aesthetic you like, then you might change your mind about them. All it takes is one good knife and you can't go back. Lol
Does yours have a burr around the outside of the scales? I've heard other reviews call it a sharp edge, but my scales actually have a burr, kind of kills the feel on an otherwise great knife.
I think I looked and the frame is milled for left handed clip they would just have to get a different insert which is kind of the name of Flytaniums game haha
I recently bought a grivory Aus10 20.5 and the Shark lock is stupid stiff. It's really uncomfortable to use. I love the look of this Arcade but my one experience with a shark lock hasn't been great thus far. Spring is so stiff, that about 20% of the time I try and use the thmbstuds, the blade comes part way our then snaps back shut.
That Arcade looks absolutely amazing especially with the customization options they’ve got coming out for it, S35VN is really my only “complaint” which is really just a personal nitpick and doesn’t really matter, wish it was 45 but whatever, other than that I definitely got to get one especially when you can do whatever you want to it and really make it your own, and hey, wishful thinking but it is flytanium, maybe they’ll start selling blade replacements with different steels and blade shapes
My problem with the shark lock is not a trifling one. When I place my thumb down atop the spine in the regular grip, the shark lock tab juts right into the underside of my thumb. It 💯% makes the knife unusable in anything other than a choked-up grip. So I just flick it open and closed all day, which it absolutely is amazing for but I just wanted to say that there are some of us who find the ergos... complete no-gos 🥁 Sorry.
I agree with you, the shark lock doesn't do it for me either, for exactly the same reason. Anytime I open a package, I use my index finger on the spine as a depth stop so I don't cut whatever is in the package. The shark lock tab is in the way. Give me a good frame lock/RIL, back lock, compression lock, axis... anything except a liner lock or shark lock and I'm happy.
@@Crusty_Otter nice not-maiming-the-package-contents technique Mr Otter. I'm gonna borrow that from you. Except for when I have the AD-20s in hand of course, ho ho.

That way right handed ppl have nothing to complain about and all us lefties need to do is take off the scale and drill the holes the rest of the way, if I don’t have to tap the holes for the thread’s cause they’re already there in the liners then it’s easy
I am not sensitive to any other knife lock, but I find the Shark Lock, as I know it from the AD20.5, to be too sharp. It makes my finger sore after just a few flips. I haven’t sold my AD20.5, because it’s interesting, but it’s NOT my favorite action. Maybe the Flytanium version will be better?
8:05 some of us are into our knives for the sensory feedback. It's part of why our knives so often become our fidget toys. Unsatisfying feelings ruin a knife experience.
