The impression I got from marketing was it was a knife made for people that like customizing their knife and that's about it.
And the shark lock fidget factor.

If you look at flytanium as a whole, thats also their entire purpose. They make parts to customize popular blade models.
Marketing is marketing. It's important to cut past the bs of any marketing. This is a good knife out the box, and theres a flavor for just about anyone.
Personally, I LOVE this knife... especially after I upgraded the stock aluminum handles to the titanium handles. They add .75 much needed ounces to get it to that nice solid feel.
It’s a benchmade bugout beater plain and simple. Just as much room for modification, similar shape, better locking system, solid blade steel for the price and cheaper than a comparable bugout.

Thanks for all your advice recently, but the fears of UK border, duty, knife regulations etc swayed me to QSP Falcon with s35v blade, I dislike damascus for work!I It was less stressful available locally than from overseas. And it is an absolute steal. It was last one in UK! Quality is way beyond price paid. The pouch is worth $30 for sure!

Same here! bought two Demko big pivot 20.5 one g10 clip point and one milled ti shark foot both in 20cv! Love all three and currently my go to edcs depending on my outfit! Lmao… kidding
The neutral handle looks better than the Demko

I'd really like to check one of these out. The Shark lock and Super lock are 2 of my favorite lock types. I think I would prefer to have A Shark Cub than the Arcade, but would love to try both.

Agreed about the marketing, a little wonky... I was still quite interested in on, but now after seeing this I may hold off. I don't think I'll like it more than my 20.5

You know what they say about first impressions. I had virtually the same type of feeling that you described. It just seemed cheap to me and put me off immediately. That coupled with already owning a Demko made me not even consider buying one. Now, even though I have no doubt it’s a fine knife, I just haven’t been able to shake my gut feeling about it and don’t see myself ever buying one.
When you handled it, what in particular felt off? It’s a pretty neutral design, so I’m trying to understand what was off about it.
The knife is made by the same factory who makes Demko knives in Taiwan, so the quality should be the same.
With customizability in mind, I still personally think they meant to name it the Avatar. But their fried brains came out with the word Arcade for some reason and they just proceeded.

I guess I missed out on the marketing of this knife somehow, I just remember all the usual reviewers gushing over it. I almost bought one recently, it's not a bad looking knife and it's cool to see the shark lock on something new, but there's plenty around that price range that gets my interest more than the Arcade.

I have no interest in the Arcade, possibly because I have two AD20.5’s, one with a drop point blade and one with the “shark’s foot” blade. I love those two knives. But thanks for the look at the Arcade..! Merry Christmas!
I love my arcade. I think of it as a gentleman’s shark lock carry.
That's just your style though. They make colorful and aftermarket parts for knives. That's why the different interchangeable parts and colors and stuff. They make upgrades for a living....the knife they cone out with should have upgrades available. And also plain jane ones for people like you like the one in this video
They way they had The video promoting this knife and how all five people were saying it was best knives ever made just kind of felt dirty to me.

I think theres better knives available for the $$. I’m in the minority though as I don’t like the Shark Lock. That blade to handle ratio is bad! Sheesh!

This knife just doesn't do anything for me personally, zero urge to buy. Not a fan of that inlay at all.

Between a Demko 20.5 and a Shark Cub, which do you prefer?
I prefer the Shark Cub over the AD20.5. It's much easier to carry, and the thinner blade stock slices much better. I also have a full-size MG AD20, so my AD20.5 seems redundant now.
They called it arcade because of the great fidget factor of it..play with...play=fidget

It’s an extremely strong lock
Apart from a fixed blade you can't get much more reliable, also it's like a titanium framelock with a steel insert, you'll probably be dead before any serious wear is done on the lock
I just remember the ad having the weirdo from bhq and then I saw the green and yellow ones and wanted to 🤮 the grey one is nice looking I guess but I’d still rather have a demko

I also was very confused by the marketing. Nothing screams Arcade about this knife. It’s a cool knife though and seems like it would be cool for people who like customizing their shit. Imma pass though

I thought the marketing was okay just because it did catch my attention at first. A little strange to name it that and like you said m, make it seem as a toy…weird…but it did capture my attention. Only reason I haven’t got one yet is because of that fake choil. I don’t like to be way back from the edge or have a super uncomfortable choke up. I like the native 5, PM2 Neutron 2…I love the idea of the lock because I’m a fidgety feller. I just feel like I’ll get it and never carry it because of the ergos.
