Got myself F25 last year I didn't wanna get it at first but seeing how good it is on gas mileage and power and speed I spending more time out on water than at home nice video btw
I'm looking at a Yammie for my next repower- but I'm looking at getting a 40 horse. My local lakes are pretty small man made lakes, you can get by with a trolling motor, or any size motor at no-wake speed. But I also go over on the Mississippi, and also big lakes up in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin- so having the extra speed/horsepower scoots you from place to place a bit faster. Down at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri the speed is needed to dodge all the power boaters running around in their 30+ foot "miami vice" style boats with multiple v-8 engines, haha. You hear one of them coming, you get out of the way and give them plenty of room! Thanks for bringing us along, interesting to see what people are catching on other Continents! We do a lot of walleye, crappie, and northern pike fishing here.....excellent on the table🙂
Mate I just reported my 4m Savage kestrel runabout with the yammi f25 up from the old 1982 Evinrude 25 it's had on it for its entire life. I'm taking it out today, and cannot wait 👌
new whip looks hectic mate! hopefully will run into u on the tweed sometime, just got a new 20hp for my tinnie as well. that bay where you arrived outside cubby has some massive bream that probably feed on the leftovers (don't know why you'd throw any food at that price in the water lol), worth a shot around night time for jacks and gts as well 👍
gud to u bak on the water mate. nice upgrade for the bus, looking flash. well done boys on the softies for the young lads n lass. Matty is soon to release a 3in, jacks n bass. taking the 6.5s to copeton for the winter rumble. totally agree with Mattys fishing IQ, amazing thought process. who makes those squids John.
Great video as always mate, I met you at the sanctuary cove boat show and you gave me some of your soft glides I’m still yet to use them other then looking at the beauty’s in the pool but I just wanted to say thanks again 🤙🏼
Hi John always enjoy your videos just wondering if I can pre order a couple of packs of your glide plastic in whiting and mullet want to give them a go for our big duskys and Barra up here on the Noosa river
Hi Brad! I’m really happy with my new 25hp. The electric start, trim and tilt and the electric variable trolling are awesome. Easy to cold wash after fishing with the direct hose plug. Everything is great, even power to weight is impressive. The huge reduction in noise is laughable in comparison as u might have seen in the video. You can actually talk when ur cruising around and hear each other. Hahaa. The hole shot isn’t quite as punchy as my earlier 2 stroke, but the list of other improves far outweighs that for mine. Fueling up, efficiency and low emissions circulating when ur idling and trolling are really noticable and make for a smoother, easier all round experience. Elec. Start is a game changer for kicking around the rivers and switching spots like I do with luring… I’ve been in touch with a marine mechanic with over 30 years in the game working across all the makes and he’s really impressed with these new fuel injected Yamaha 4-strokes above everything which is great to hear. He said in terms of reliability and servicing, these sit above the rest.
What a Great Video to wake up to for the Weekend. Excited for your new Motor, Bet you gained a few more hp over your old girl. Geez your a funny bloke. "I've got a box of Lure's .. And a Banana.." I Always Watch your Videos wearing a Big Smile. I Love how Generous you are and your interactions with the people who come up and say G'day.... John Costello - Australian of the Year!!!
Hi Johnny. Great to see you back on the tube. I re powered my boat 18mths ago with a Mercury 25 love it. I found I had to re learn how to drive my boat. Being 4 stroke I found a huge difference in "the hole" takes alot longer to get out of the hole compared to the 2 stroke. That is the only "negative" I feel the fuel economy and quietness is outstanding. Have you noticed anything with the Yamaha 4 stroke that is different to the 2 banger ?
John great to see you back again. Motor looks and sounds terrific . How good is the electric start. You won’t need to dislocate a shoulder to get it done. You are certainly a tackle rat, I thought I was bad. Take care, go well and all of you stay safe!
I replaced my Yamaha as it vibrated way too much. Drive newest Mercury 30 hp now and three cylinders it is available as 25 hp and same engine as 30 hp and no vibration and power trim is also available.
Unless the EFI housing packs in after 30 hours. Then you have to wait 6 weeks for the part. Then Yamaha Australia treats you like a twat. Wouldn’t buy my next 3 engines from Yamaha again. Before you buy check out some online forums on Yamaha Australia’s customer service, because when shit hits the fan it will end up back in your face. Sorry I enjoy your show, but I promised I would tell the truth about Yamaha Australia and it’s dealers after my dogged experience with them.
@Mullet head compared to other brands your right, everyone else is putting out higher displacement. About 100ccs more. Which is about 3hp. Yamaha weights slightly less but that doesn't make up for the lack of power imo.
@@jason13533 Can't confirm from experience but ive heard suzuki and honda are great for 6-30 HP, my family have used a yamaha 250 and a 300 on both our boats which have never let us down, maybe its just the small ones that are lacking.
I just upgraded to the F25 on my 390. Vibrations was the first thing I noticed. Wondering if the vibes can be absorbed by mounting on some other material.
@@justinstewart3248 tiller. Salesman told me it's because they removed the engine balencer to reduce weight, so vibration is the consequence. I was thinking of remounting onto rubber padding.
Great stuff Johnny really like the swimming action on paddler as i have struggled with the small stuff as well, but so happy to get pointers to get me interested again I have done a vid you may like from Minnie Waters NSW definatly worth visiting see link ua-cam.com/video/tgBXasgSTX8/v-deo.html regards Dave
Had my Yammie 25 4stroke since 2005 still going strong
Got myself F25 last year I didn't wanna get it at first but seeing how good it is on gas mileage and power and speed I spending more time out on water than at home nice video btw

Congrats on getting back out on the water mate, can’t wait to see what comes next!
25Hp should be 3 cylinder to get rid of the low speed vibrations

Wow john how do u find the new 4stroke yamaha to your old one. Nice video mate.

Do you run the 25 up on the Mozzie loader please?

Good to see yah mate, motor is sick. By the way where i can buy Twitch lure mate? Thats look good mate. Please let me know
Does it have the kick up feature built in? In case I run into a log.
Love it mate!
Have to show ya some spots in the tweed for Jew!
I have the same 2 stroke engine you had. Are the bolt holes in the same place for the new 4 stroke? I was looking at these or a Suzuki 30hp.
Hey mate. Have you used the shimano bantam lures ?
Micro swimbait with unbelievable action . Look amazing but haven't caught a thing yet !

Mate in your experience how long do you think it will take for the tweed water to start clearing up
I have the F30 on my 4m Quintrex Explorer. I'ts not very fast but it's a very reliable engine
Is it still
Good
3 year warranty have u had any issues
It’s still mint mate
How is the vibrations on this motor? Especially at low RPMs? Thinking pulling the trigger on this one
I just upgraded to the F25 on my 390. Vibrations was the first thing I noticed. Wondering if the vibes can be absorbed by mounting on some other material.
@@BradWithyman are you using the tiller model or remote?
@@justinstewart3248 tiller. Salesman told me it's because they removed the engine balencer to reduce weight, so vibration is the consequence. I was thinking of remounting onto rubber padding.
The other brands are 3 cylinder in this class, giving Yamaha a distinct disadvantage with only two pots.
Hey mate. How’s the pickup and top speed ?
What boat?
3.7m Quintrex traveller
Man what happened? Lots of ads!
New 25hp 4 stroke. That RPM adjustment for trolling will be so handy. Very jealous.
I had a Etec years ago and then went 4 stroke Yamaha never again a 2 stroke.
Hi mate! good fishing and tight lines!
Yewwwwww 🤙
I saw a banana and went directly to the comments looking for more banana. lol
Warning: Banana on board.
u don't take a banana fishing U.S. rules. lol
First
???? 7 mins in and still talking.
