Thanks josh! I’m a worship pastor for a church and I’m over our videos currently. This video was insanely helpful. If there are any more videos you have on animation I would appreciate it!
Man your videos deserve more credit, I see people who take 20min to tell you how to zoom in da vinchi. And then the people who talk to fast and slow down on the simplest things. Your videos are In the middle. Good job, keep it up! 💯
Perfect for what I need. To the point, simple enough yet plenty of cool factor. These steps will help me take my clients' logos to a level that I think they will love! One request, however, of anyone's UA-cam tutorials, to be honest: Show us the end result right away, like in the first 10 seconds. What you showed us starting at about 6:54... If I could have seen that within the first 10 seconds or so, that would have really helped me to know if this is the right tutorial for my need at this time. As it is, I love your videos so much that I scrubbed through till I found out exactly where this tutorial was headed. With most UA-cam videos, I don't bother to do that. If I don't know the final result up front, I move on and look for another tutorial. Again, you're an exception for me because I know you are the best! So.... just FWIW, a recommendation.
With so so so many crappy tutorials out there, you are a breath of fresh air. You get it. And overall this method seems fine, I could do this so so so much simpler in after effects. I find fusion to be very convoluted. To say the least. But thanks for doing such a great job.
Could you do an updated video on this for Davinci Resolve 18? I've followed you, step-by-step, and it's just NOT working. Just like you, I'm working on manipulating 3 parts of an image, so 3 masks, 3 mediains, and 3 merges. Once I connect the 3rd and final polygon tool to the 3rd and final mediain, all 3 masks suddenly resize and reposition themselves to a completely incorrect size and position. This just completely halts the process and I have no idea how to resolve it...
Another creator made a video that pretty much explained and solved my issue. Basically, instead of attaching the mask to the mediain node, attach it to the mediain's merge node. I'd be glad to share the video with you, but you're probably already aware of the soltuion.
Super helpful tutorial, took me a bit longer as sometimes when I went to the next merge it would makr everything invisible. Would just click undo to get by that. Either way eventually was able to animate a logo, thank you so much 😊
Hi ! This great. My only problem is I'm a newbie with DaVinci Resolve and have to create an animated logo quick. I'll be back like a certain Arnold said... Thanks !
Not sure why. I followed instructions exactly, but it's not animating the part of the logo I specified with polygon. It's just moving the entire photo. I wonder if I didn't close the polygon correctly when drawing it
When I connect the Median1 (my main image) to the merge, the background takes over and the screen becomes black. Is it because my image isn't what you consider clipart? Very confused.
Hey, I think I had the same issue as you. Another creator made a video that pretty much explained and solved it. Basically, instead of attaching the mask to the mediain node, attach it to the mediain's merge node. That's all I got for ya. Still learning, so I can't really help any other way. This is where I had issues.
Hi! When I connect the median1_1 to Merge1 to create Merge 2, the logo doubled in the screen ( the new one is much bigger) i dont know why this happens. It does the same when i connect the Median1_2 to Merge 2. So i end up with 3 logos on top of each other ;( Please help!
Thanks for the video! Did you say why you prefer using a fusion composition instead of editing the photo directly? Can't seem to find your reasoning later n the vid

Great tutorial. Josh I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how to export with transparent background? Ive tried messing with the Alpha on the background inside fusion, as well as tried to find simple solid videos explaining it, But so far there's just nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
too complicated software for animation. think is best used for color correction and color grading. animation like this could be done in Apple motion 5 easily no nodes no bullshit. After effects best for that.
Not sure what I am doing wrong, but this just flat-out doesn't work for me. Feels like there is more to this than what is shown. I can do this in a heartbeat in Photoshop/Aftereffects. But Fusion makes me feel real dumb.

Save it into a Power Bin. It can be found on the left hand side of DaVinci’s UI on the Edit page where you commonly find your imported footage (just a little below that). Make a new power bin for whatever project your working on and drag the completed fusion intro into the bin. I hope this helps!

Well this just reaffirmed my suspicion that Resolve is an extremely inefficient tool for motion graphics. Unfortunate, because I’d love to have an option other than After Effects, but this workflow is pretty ridiculous. 😂
🌮 Taco logo on taco Tuesday! 🌮
Dude this is great I want to make and animate my logo, working on it now still, just the logo design.
What did you use to create your logo?
It's always best to show what u are going to do/make at the start of the video
yep
Yeah exactly this is fucking clickbait.
This is basically just recreating Powerpoint swipe effects.
i love every single one of you "Davinci Resolve How To"-Guys, you are just amazing, thank you so much

Good tutorial. Short, to the point, well explained without a lot of BS even with the ads. 5 stars
Thanks a lot. No time waste. On the point. Again thanks a lot.
Great work Josh. LOve the pace, style and energy!
I am just going to say: WOW!
Awesome tutorial! Thank you!
Succinct , informative, helpful, straight to the point, dude 10/10.

So good. So simple. Time to put it to work! Thank man!
Fantastic tutorial. Well explained and at a great pace! Thanks Josh :)
Díky!
Nice, simple little video. Thank you, I really appreciated it!
I love your taco logo. It's not terrible hehe
this super crazy learn from you thank you so much for that, i'm gonna start doing this right now
Great
Came over from Patrick's channel. Great information! Thank you!
Appreciate you coming over!
Fantastic. I have been looking all around for good animation software.
Super helpful! Thanks!
Easy and simple to follow. Thank you!
you guyz is amazing but you should provide same stock image so that we can practice as you teach ....
Great tutorial, 👍👍👍
Loved the Tutorial~

Excellent, that's what I was looking for thank you!
Excellent tutorial as always!!! Not sure when I’ll use this but this video is definitely going in the stash!!
Easy. I like how you make it look easy. I have an animation for my logo but am not too fond of it. I will try your method soon.
thank you for another awesome video!!
It would be good of you showed how remove the logo after a short period on screen. I suppose one could keyframe opacity or blend at each merge node?
excellent bruh
Thank you
Good video bro thanks.
Like ur videos! U explain well.

Wow, someone who doesn’t shout at the camera for once!
i connect the polygon to the media and when i click on merge node, its still all black covered.
and i have invert checked to off
Ok, yes, but the Speed is proportional. How can we fine-tune the timing for a smoother look? Im new
Pleasee, how to add it in front of a video and how it should be saved as file? 😬

Does not work

What format should the Logo be for best quality / smoothes work with?
Do you know whay poligon tool is not on the same position when I conect it to picture?

Does this work with a white background? It just deleted my background after I selected with a polygon
as soon as i reconnect my polegons with the images the position of the polegon changing completely. any advices?
I'm too frustrated. my Davinci resolve just wont let me create points to make a mask in the Nodes mode. Don't know whats going on
but what's the best export for this?
Just curious, can you just add 3 parts pngs logo and keyframe their movement in edit page?
hello nice auto thank you ...I just no understand why I do not success to do it with version 18 of DaVinci ..... ;)

when i link the polygon mask to the median it shrinks my mask and cuts off my logo?
I'm having this same issue in resolve 18. None of the tutorials seem to cover it. Were you ever able to figure out a solution?
Just downloaded and tested with Resolve 17, same issue. Perhaps there is a bug that is ongoing, or my M1 chip is causing issues.
Same for me on 18, did u find a solution ?
And a transform to it. Right after the polygon . see if that works for you.
connect the polygon before you mask
Is this similar to after affects? Help me lol
so im on a freaking PC Command B Command C is the same as what on the windows? please help us thanks

Could the matte control.node be used here as well ?

It’s in the davinci resolve playlist
Question... anyone know how to turn off the background? (So the video plays behind the animation and not the solid background color?
NEVERMIND... I changed the background node to Media IN. Switched media source to background. 🍻
How did you do your into in this video with the glitch effect?
